Interesting thread. Like you say Scott way longer than it needs to be. To many green boxes but I get the jist...
Just putting this out there... If the right sort of vehicle could be used then is there the potential to use it on the return journey to deliver materials to woodsmith site in your opinion? For example, A flat bed artic loaded with dumpy bags to wilton. I'm guessing a lot of the deliveries would be tunnel segments for drive 3.

Showed some rough calculations 430 . Is the Mercedes a van
“ Scott the Mercedes I drive only has two axles.....”
IBAB stop it, you’re making me jealous. You’ll be telling us you have an iPhone next... :-)
Only academic until it happens, and it can't happen unless you plan it to.
Well the answer is exponentially more than was expected a short while ago.
Another upward indicator.
What was the question?

22 miles by road
I realise you no little about vehicles
Guessing 15/18 miles
Our artics transport aggregates and average roughly 26t per load. I'm guessing poly is likely a similar density so likely a similar total volume. Walking floors are meant for waste which is half the weight of aggregate and just dont have the nuts to shove anything heavier than bin bags.
How fares skinningrove from woodsmith
Only 32 tonne for hire
I dont know if your poly is going straight for Poly 4 or any crushed for minnies, but if you transported some of it in dumpey bags it might be easier to handle , ie tele handlers, counterbalance , pickups ect.
could even load dumpy bags onto a train at Skinningrove , would half the road distance and could load more on to a train .
Then goes of the subject , when realise hes been talking rubbish
Buck , I've bought a 6x2 unit and 6 wheel crane frauf trailer 44 tonne many years ago , shall we stop this ere . I've also bought a petrol tanker from Williams in Morley and one from Darren Compton in Hertfordshire, stop insulting people's intelligent s on ere
scott1092, can't disagree with you.
I've not been a visitor here for long, about a month, but I've seen many of the posts in that time and it's quite obvious of who those that are the Quislings in the mix, they cynically play on the emotion of folk who have invested for a better future for their families and communities, best not to respond to their negative comments with anything but fact.
Illbetabuck , the guy looks like he's up to is usually tricks of negatitivity .with no knowledge
I assume he means "I'llbiteabutt"
They’ll use walking floor artic trailers, but if the volume is too much to fill the artic up ( weight wise ), they could always use the trailers that are used for wood chip ( they’re a bit longer )
Scott, who you talking about buddy ?
Wanderintsar, this guy really is showing what he is on ere , trying to talk down the negatives and the lower tonnage on a vehicle that it sounds like he as not got a clue over, personally don't comment much ere , but in the situation xxx, have come to me personally think it's a good idea to get first product to market , the amount would be a start , to build from , and progress with further fianace down the line
All depends on how you look at things, I'm more of a 3/4 full type of person.
Do you see the trucks as being 3/4 full or 1/4 empty? ;-)
