TF - the rampers are all over ESL, atm - but I guess you know that.
If you think it's wild on the LSE - RESL bb - check out the ADFVN bb lol.
Hot air / P& D / genuine news coming - what are your thoughts ?
G
TF - rns from the ESL BOD, may slow things down over there.
G
Gerry you were spot on about ESL RNS
Volcano - it looks like 4m shares were traded, 1341 trades in total for the day as I type, over on ESL, loads of new ramping posters appeared there today.
Probably many dived in on the back of the initial rise, looks like they created a "bubble" - seems the BOD's rns popped it for the time being.
Some made money, many are nursing headaches, I guess, got to love these bb's .
Gla
G
TF - lol - bit rampy pampy over there on ESL today.
G
TF - got to agree with you on that. Nothing wrong with buying into shares linked to covid testing / protection.
Have traded quite a few of them myself this year, have backed out of most if them now, don't really like bb's that become "bun fights" - often known posters arrive and it becomes a bit toxic.
G
Morning Gerry,
I did say it yesterday it will be quiet today on markets because of US Thanksgiving
someone confirmed my thoughts,
And as one equity trader in London puts it: "With the U.S.
closed today, it will be nap time in the markets". lol
Morning Volcano - not an exciting morning where I'm looking to get in. No trades today yet.
Took a dip trade on SGE earlier in the week at 5.85 it's just crossed £6 seems to be clinging on by it's fingertips - not a lot there for me.
Am trying to puzzle out whether a move to cyclicals will continue, or not. It's very patchy out there.
Am looking for longer term dip opportunities on some longer term safer div. holds as well as day trades.
TF - it's quite toxic over on RMS this morning. On ESL lots of newbie buy ins this week so expect some glass half full posts, as the golden tickets may need moving on.
Perhaps the most important question for me this morning is which tier we are all about to enter lol. Will I be I able to buy a pint, or will that include a meal, or is it still take outs ?

G
Gerry,
i was under water over SGE just got my money back and £120 profit ,
yesterday got back in SPT ander 250p and this morning back in CPI,
nothing special just a small trades
Gerry,
looks like Sage has been waiting for me to sell lol ,but i did do well with MTRO though today .
and EMG might worth a trade monday
Volcano - have been tied up for most of today, have been waiting for the exchange of contracts on a second property I've sold in the west country, received confirmation late morning. Seem to have been on the phone to Solicitors, estate agent, utility co's and removers all day.
I did a small trade on CPI, but, looks like I'm down a penny there, rumour into a red day, over there - so down atm.
Am just sitting down to see what has happened in the market, I'm still holding those SGE shares, need to decide if I should clear out for the weekend. That said they have gone northwards on a red day.
Still anything could happen over the weekend, and it often does lol.
G
Volcano - just looked at EMG - see its dropped down to around 1.16, will see where it settles going into the weekend for a look at it Monday.
You did well to take your profits on UU. it looks like it may drift down into my buying range again over coming weeks - £8 - £8.50, we'll have to see.
G
Hi - with good Brexit news / Covid News - is there an obvious upside for this stock?......I bought in when I noticed the sudden share climb a few weeks back and I appear now to be pretty committed!
Return to travel will be most welcome.

Could be just a re run of old info, though Independent.ie has been very close to matters relating to Aer Lingus.
The disposal of Stobart Air is key part in de risking legacy issues.
Let's see.

good news for STOB
https://news.sky.com/story/brexit-meet-the-air-freight-operator-with-a-contract-to-beat-port-disruption-12157083
Not sure that's particularly good news for STOB TBH. They don't operate cargo aircraft. They have an airport that can handle limited amounts of cargo, which is almost up to max with the Amazon flights. There are plenty of airports in the UK that will be wanting this additional business that are better placed for it with the road connections required. East Midlands, Stansted, Birmingham, Heathrow etc....These can all take the larger transport aircraft as well. But they are operating to capacity nearly with the Amazon operation so you can't really ask for any more I guess.
Birddog - agree the night shift Amazon flights are close to maximum- though that's a good thing from a glass half full perspective. Ref. Your point on road connections have you any views on why Amazon chose Southend in the first place.
Gla
G
Hi Gerry - indeed it should be viewed glass half full - they already had the cargo biz which is great. Re Amazon decision - Whilst they (Amazon) build the network infrastructure in Europe they needed a stop gap in the South East for some short haul routes. At the time (2019) everywhere else was up to quota. Ultimately they will need a much bigger facility that can accommodate the larger trans continental planes in order to have the effective global network and connectivity required. The UK is a huge market for Amazon and well beyond the scope of Southend airport beyond the short term.
BD
Hi BD - everywhere else being up to quota, is that why Amazon have been linked to an expansion into Carlisle Airport ?
Not sure if that has legs or was just on the rumour roundabout.
All a bit clock and dagger, regarding Amazon deals little real info out there on the long term agreement at Southend.
G
I'm not sure about Carlisle. Maybe that could work regionally?
Totally agree about Amazon - they keep their cards very close to their chest. All I know is that they are bringing in a load of bigger planes into Europe and they won't be able to land these at either Carlisle or Southend. They have a hub at East Midlands but also want one in the south. Time will tell. Covid has been very good for Amazon!
BD - agree with you on Amazon and covid, in terms of the increase in it's business.
Shall watch progress here with interest.
Key short term for Stob is to lose Stobart Air.
