The "media monopoly" is just an excuse for indecision.I see facebook intends joining the tv media also.Every day more options open for us to get our news.I also agree they do not know how to deal with the BBc which is by far the biggest concern. Cheers
I cannot see how one company can be accused of having a media monopoly. There are too many other media companies out there and other outlets to vent ones opinions and access news from. We also have the BBC who tend to go over the top with biased reporting. The government should not be trying to influence the outcome of this bid by putting trivial obstacles and excuses in the way to prevent the takeover. The government should just carry on dragging this country down pratting around with the ill advised brexit.. Note if you took the percentage of people who did not vote and added to the remain percentage there is not a majority who voted to leave.
i Used to be indecisive now i can`t make my mind up. Old adage but true. Make your mind up "Minister".
one woman to another lol ofcom already made the most obvious comment- it could affect cmpetition wow really . NEW evidence -sounds exciting , then you read twas some pathetic over the top comment by Vince Cable who seems to make OTT comments all the time -few marbles left to lose.Thatcher just let Sky BUY their only competitor in the UK. Has Murdoch invited Jeremy to a private meeting yet ?
Just shows you how anxious she is to protect 30,000 jobs.Hard to believe this is a Minister, albeit in name only.Don`t worry about not looking good just cover the mirrors. For a penny share trader you are a real hoot. Llap.
[Today 14:32] (ShareCast News) - Culture Secretary Karen Bradley has sought further clarification from regulator Ofcom over the possible £11.7bn takeover of Sky by 21st Century Fox after new evidence was raised.
for those sales advice, yet it seems to have little effect on the price.
The best sign of where the price is going is this - 28-Jul-17 Sell Andrew Neal Griffith 967.00p 1,200,000 £11,604,000.09 28-Jul-17 Sell Jeremy Darroch 967.00p 1,200,000 £11,604,000.09 Rats.
investing.Given the recent growth in European Countries i sometimes feel i would like the offer to fail.I feel by the end of next year we could be at £12/13 anyway.People complain about the cost of some Sports, have they heard what PSG are paying for Neymar over the next 5 years.I wish the guy the very best but an injury could make him very, very expensive. Anybody ever think Qatar could buy the lot. Some are well aware of this like norrab who would happily pay £20 a share if he had to. SKy to me is a real winner.REmember buy and hold and hold.Give Bradley another 9 months and she will come up with a answer.Of course it took Cameron all of 20 minutes to resign.Patience means profit.

574p in June 2010 pre bid. How much was it in July 2011 after Sky bid failed? £7? I'll tell you what: I'll buy all your Sky shares at 600p should the Fox bid fail. Does that allay your fears of languishing around the 5s?
Last in the 5's, 2009/10
Just sell them then bud. When were they last in the 5s?
Beginning to think it will not go through and then languish in the 5's forever like it used to.Can't wait to get rid of this one its no good for an investor.Always some monopoly issue never far away and paying way too much for the rights, totally fed up with it!
My village used to have three pubs showing sky sports but in the last four months all three have handed their boxes back. Small pub being asked for £880 a month ! Slightly bigger one (but still not a big place) £930 p/m. Just mad. On a personal level my sports package finally got to the level where I had to say No and I know of several others who have turned off the feed recently. I realise that this is apocryphal but if my village is indicative of what is going on across the UK the numbers for Sky may be suffering.

Can nobody in this propped up Government make a decision.Good luck to Companies planning for the future.Thankfully i am long since retired and can let the days roll past.for those trying to sustain a Company and Work Force i truly despair. GLA
i see you evaded the answer-then you clearly have an aversion to facts.
If you had sought knowledge you wouldn't get your vowels mixed up........."saught" (sic) indeed.
I have a little knowledge,"do you know how to read anything"? LOL.Only joking.
Jimmy rooboy, do you know how to read a balance sheet?
Very good results,well done Rupert.
Do many investors feel like me,that it would be beneficial if this deal fell through as my opinion is we can push on to 12/13 pounds within the next 18 months plus a nice wee bonus every so often.I base this on the expansion in Europe.. GLA interesting week ahead
These will tank if it does not go through back to the £6 I guess.
