Only above 40 if they believe a deal (or have confirmation) will happen - its guessing like us all and of course the big(ish) fall last Friday was after the revised offer. Point is its a gamble to buy or sell now. I remain surprised by the level of the offer! Scfc
No I had to do it manually, to fast move, 2 longs taken automatically cos limit put at 42.50 ( futures) went higher but ...if we finish - 130 today this short will be taken too. Not that I wouldnt consider taking long in meantime .... rodeo rodeo..
Interesting that it says the revised offer was actually made 7 days ago, on 12th April...Scfc
Thanks Ted, managed to digit out. With market hammering Tak I think a penny over 42 would be good outcome for shp shareholders. Shp total enterprises is valued at $66bln, so not bad for shp bod too.if successful this will come back to bite Tak bod back, but we should all be out by then, or will I short Tac then, o yes I will !
Well done notgreedy, i bet you opened a few shorts too at that peak price lasting 1.5 seconds. Good job sir!
Takeda Statement Regarding Shire plc Cambridge, Mass. April 19, 2018 and Osaka, Japan, April 19, 2018 - Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited ("Takeda") notes recent press speculation regarding Shire plc ("Shire") and confirms that on April 12 it made a revised proposal to the Board of Shire to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Shire for a price equivalent to 46.50 per share, comprised of 17.75 in cash (to be paid in US$) and 28.75 of new Takeda shares. Takeda was subsequently notified that the Board of Shire had rejected its proposal. Discussions between the parties regarding a potential offer are ongoing. Takeda and its Board reiterate that it will remain disciplined with respect to the terms of any such offer. As previously stated, Takeda intends to maintain its well-established dividend policy and investment grade credit rating. Building on Takeda's existing momentum, the acquisition of Shire would accelerate its transformation and result in a global, value-based, R&D-driven biopharmaceutical leader headquartered in Japan, with a balanced geographic footprint, a robust, modality-diverse pipeline and enhanced financial strength. Irrespective of the outcome of discussions between the two parties, Takeda remains well-positioned to continue its transformation, delivering portfolio growth while strengthening its pipeline and boosting profitability. Other matters The making of any firm offer by Takeda would be subject to the following matters: satisfactory completion of a customary due diligence review by Takeda; unanimous and unconditional recommendation by the Board of Shire in respect of Takeda's proposal; the directors of Shire providing irrevocable undertakings to vote in favour of, or accept, the transaction in respect of their Shire shares on terms satisfactory to Takeda; and final approval by the Board of Takeda. Takeda reserves the right to waive in whole or in part any of the pre-conditions to making an offer set out in this announcement. Takeda's proposal does not constitute an offer or impose any obligation on Takeda to make an offer, nor does it evidence a firm intention to make an offer within the meaning of the Code. There can be no certainty that a formal offer will be made. A further statement will be made as appropriate. Takeda reserves the following rights: to introduce other forms of consideration and/or to vary the mix of consideration; to make an offer for Shire at any time on less favourable terms: o with the agreement or recommendation of the Board of Shire; o if a third party announces a firm intention to make an offer for Shire which, at the date Takeda announces a firm intention to make an offer for Shire, is valued at a lower price than contemplated by the terms of this proposal; or o following the announce
Maybe Shire should put in a bid for Takeda, the maths would work easier! ;-)
Indeed! Highest trade price today on my Level 2 feed states 4200p, its now 3880ish. Where next?!?! Scfc
notgreedy, Only 17.75 in cash and approx 28.75 in Takeda stock. This latter part is likely to reduce once the market get their mitts on it!
Pinch of salt comes to mind
Where is my, well easier said than done - now under 39...so back up to 40+ later or will it keep falling? Need to brave and have nerves of steel to trade today; I hear c63% would be in Takeda shares! ATB, Scfc
As I mentioned shp bod will reject first offer, not knowing that it would be this generous. Now d questions is how much of it was cash and what would be takeof d market swapping one lot of not carrying not sharing bod for another ( inept) willing to pay this kind of money.. now that half of my long was taken out by this millisecond surge I fill relaxed. Must say riding a mare is a pleasure
down to 38.60 from 40.50
*TAKEDA PHARM MADE A REVISED PROPOSAL, 28.75 OF NEW TAKEDA SHRS & *TAKEDA PHARM MADE A REVISED PROPOSAL, 17.75 IN CASH what would that mean?
Glad to hear that .
TAKEDA SAYS SHIRE REJECTED GBP46.50/SHARE OFFER; TALKS ONGOING
:)))) , well said . Surely theres going to be a rival bid though ??
Who gives a crap about how takeda will fund it or even if they can afford it. There is money to be made here during this speculative period. Price will hopefully keep rising while the market guesses. I have no intention of staying put through take over if there will be one. So lets drop the fact finding game and enjoy this speculative rise. :-))
*TAKEDA BID FOR SHIRE IS SAID TO BE IN CASH/STOCK, REUTERS SAYS
LONDON (Reuters) - Takeda Pharmaceutical (4502.T) has made a bid for Shire (SHP.L) that values the London-listed drugmaker at around $61 billion (42.99 billion pounds), two sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
Now question is how much of $61bln will be in cash. Tak sp would likely be hammered ?
Over 40 now and hopefully rising
16% further upside from here if true. Bizarre
Just an opinion but I think shire will be worth far more in 2-3 yrs when debt paid down .
That would be c$60bn bid by a company worth under c$40bn, unprecedented in terms of relative takeover sizes? Odd that the price remains below 40 per share if true. Lets wait and see...ATB, Scfc
