The green revolution will see more and more people using public transport - companies like Stagecoach should do well in the future. Also the rising costs of running cars and parking issues and expenses will push more to using buses and trains. In the meantime, with kids back at school and the fact they're the lowest risk category of all, it's unlikely schools will shut nationwide, local temporary lockdowns perhaps but no chance of national school closures. Also notable Stagecoach aren't overly draconian regards kids having to socially distance on their buses - they simply advise kids to avoid facing eachother where possible - so the numbers on the buses aren't necessarily impacted too badly due to social distancing requirements. Once the economy begins to recover, public transport will be at the heart of that recovery and companies like SGC, GOG, NEX and FGP should really begin to pick up pace. Stagecoach was sat at around £1.65 at Christmas - a lot of FTSE 350 companies have recovered over 50% from their march lows, SGC is one of the few stocks that's still on the floor...
HSBC RAISES STAGECOACH TO 'BUY' ('HOLD') - TARGET 60 (125) PENCE
We are getting shortered like mad today because we are in the losing category but hopefully big guys close there position after markets nd this shots up. Good luck man we have vaule in the company without a doubt we only got 600m debt, thats not much. On the plus side we are still profitable in years to come.
It just seems strange to me a positive trading update director buys I appreciate there not huge but shows confidence and it’s down 8% nearer 20% from last weeks high. There unbelievable value at the current levels just sentiment is weighing it down massively !!
Hold them shares. We are in a rough place with covid still looming at the moment im sure in the next 2 months we be back up at 60p, when we hear about this vaccine coming this will shot up.
Just timing is the key.
Bought in , looks a reasonable entry point
I can’t believe how on the back off a positive trading update it’s reduced this significantly. To be honest fundamentals have gone in this market. It was never a short term hold but annoying to say the least when your sat on a loss !!
I'll take 360. Why not? Smh
Good luck all.
Not looking good for us daytraders this will shot straight back down to 360p
Agreed GZ, I was quite positive having read that, and was then slightly disappointed to see our intraday chart when i got home from work, and saw how the market reacted, that was a little disappointing.
There is no doubt NEX has less risk & more potential right now and its good to see it recovering well as I have a larger holding there but there is excellent value to be had here at SGC.
The impact of covid has been factored in already, we are still at a quarter of pre covid SP and the war chest has improved slightly.
As FGP and NEX continue to recover the potential and therefore interest from new investors will obviously decrease, they may just look to SGC! I am certainly considering reducing NEX holding now and increasing here. Decisions, decisions?!
Sums the Trading Update up perfectly GZ!
For the size of the company now compared to 5 years ago the people at the top are being paid too much.
Available liquidity up from the last RNS. Consisting of Cash balance £437.7m up 4m. Undrawn, committed headroom under bank facilities expiring March 2025 of £266.4m UNUSED. Undrawn, committed headroom under bank facilities expiring October 2021 of £140m UNUSED. I would say thats a fantastic result considering the pandemic.
.... No it's dropped due to people who bought in yesterday or couple day before who have taken 10% profit, nothing wrong in that.
Because interest payments are not well covered by earning
Are talking absolute twaddle.... and would be more at home on the aim bb....and this is aimed at both rampers and those trying to drag the sp down...
