It'll rebound, the drop is only an issue if planning on selling now, otherwise it's an opportunity. I called out the fusion timescales as there's lots of 'news' about fusion, and how this startup or these scientists are about to solve fusion etc etc. It's all bs in my opinion, I went on a tour at culham just before their latest campaign, after which it'll be too radioactive to enter for 3 months and that's not using real fuel, from memory real fuel makes that 2 maybe 3 years, so you need to be really sure it's going tell you something useful before you use tritium. It's one of the reasons it takes so long, the cycle time is immense.
* Go and
needed it done quickly. Primary bid provided that opportunity. SAE are now cash ready to gonamd secure a finance package for Uksmouth which will provide significant shareholder value once agreed.
Their net asset value must be worth much more than their MCap ?
I will verify from the recent end of year report later.
Christ I hope it’s before 20 years! Yes I’ve been here for a long time and yes it was a joke about fusion! I’m confident for all parts of the business being a success and I think a lot of other people are too which is why I’m ****ed at the price of the placing, unnecessarily low in my opinion!
Fusion is still 5 years away for ITER to finish being built, and id suggest 5 years beyond that before it's doing something approaching the best it can do (500MW), if it's a massive success they'll need to design and build bigger versions, 5v years for design 5 to build the first generation. So we've got 20 years of clear space, all these times are absolute minimums, some could double without any trouble.
But does fusion power have tag ability to turn 1 mans rubbish into another mans treasure.
lesserof2weevils. It sounds like you have been invested here and waiting for some time. For long term holders I expect the placing the other day was a kick in the proverbials. It was for me and I only bought in 2 weeks ago but paid 17.4p. Significantly more than the placing price.
TBH i cannot work out the low valuation of the business. With such a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects and cash generative I would like to think that there is a lot more upside potential here than downside risk.
The next 6 months are going to be interesting and hopefully exciting for current shareholder.
Best of luck.
Old tramp. Appreciate that. Thanks. 77p is a conservative estimate by the looks of it especially when just Uksmouth may generate £34mln per year in profits. Not revenue, profit.
Add to this a growing tidal portfolio and now a renewable or energy from waste fuels partnership then SAE really could be worth a lot more.
13p does now seem like an absolute bargain.
Let's see how this attracts the attention of investors over the coming months and hopefully the SP will be sitting much higher before Uksmouth financing is in place.
Best of luck. Thanks for the link.
True it is due and it’s when not if, my only concern is that they crack fusion power before the when arrives
This is the only broker valuation i can find on potential but sure it will be rerated in line with progress https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/investing/article-8541023/SMALL-CAP-IDEAS-Simec-Atlantis-offers-solution-renewables.html
Old tramp. Great read and a significantly undervalued business by the looks of things. Added twice today after reading more.
Bought in a few weeks backnat 17.4p and had to treble up at this price.
When financing is in place for Uksmouth I think we will see the mother of all corrections.
What are the broker targets based upon Uksmouth and the tidal power business. Not forgetting we are now part owners of renewable pellet fuels.
Nice bit of reading for the weekend https://theenergyst.com/simec-atlantis-ceo-share-price-set-for-the-mother-of-all-corrections/
