They'll be wanting Bluecap etc.... as well

They want EFSA health claim to be on all tomato based products. They are trying to piggyback on FF research instead of doing their own. It’s not the same thing. FF is produced to have exactly the right amount bioactive compounds with a process that can be repeated and tested to ensure consistency. Applying that to all tomatoes with no controls is very different. I think they are a long way off getting any kind of EU approved health claim.
Can only think this shall be good for us: - tomato juice is an acquired taste

Hearty fruit: Fresh tomato concentrate could prevent early onset of atherosclerotic CVD in older adults – Chinese RCT
14-Nov-2022 By Nurul Ain Razali
Water-soluble tomato concentrate made from fresh tomatoes could potentially play a role in the early prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease among middle-aged and elderly adults, according to the recent findings of a Chinese RCT.

That's wonderful news. Now they need to out our beloved FF. Hope it will be sooner.
By-Health do well again.

I think either can be used.

(a) Preparing a Start Mix
[0018]
The flesh of whole fruit, preferably tomatoes, is ****genised, with or without the skin of the fruit to form a paste.
[0019]
Alternatively, commercially available tomato pastes may be used as the starting material for the preparation of the start mix. Where the starting material for the preparation of the extracts is a tomato paste, it is preferably one that has been produced by means of a “cold-break” process rather than a “hot-break” process.

Gix,
I always thought that FF is made from the by-product of Passata, tomato concentrate and the likes. They throw away the seeds and jelly and we take that. I'm sure that's what Moon said about 12 years ago, when they held the audio meetings / podcasts that they held.
Typo day, sorry
Takes me back. In the early days, when Steve Morrison weas involved, wer had a conversation about production. I suggested that they must be using the seed/gel part of tomatoes, extracted during the juicing process to supply the drinking juice and passata industries. At that time, he said that they were using whole tomatoes. When first launched, there was much talk that the active ingredient we were after was concentrated in the gel around the seeds. If that's the case, making use of a by product from another use of tomatoes made economic sense. Perhaps the secret is too sensitive for us to be fully in the know. If what's left of the fruit after Fruitflow is ectracted is a nutritionally sub standard paste, that would seem to fit perfectly with the standards of the fast food industry. ;-)
It does make one wonder how much it costs to set up a plant to make FF
Throw in transportation overhead (ESG/$), it does make the case of in country manufacturing very compelling and a bleedin obvious next step after things settle down (step change in cashflow) next year.
W$
$120 in Europe as apposed to $78 in China for the raw material. (USD/mT)
I wonder how many doses of FF can be produced from a Metric Ton of tomatoes and do the suppliers / manufacturer of FF sell the leftover tomato paste?
Ye Olde Crown, better known as ye olde underage cider offy
W$,
Thanks for sharing the slides. Very interesting to see why IF did not agree to continue the alliance agreement with DSM. It is sensible to sign a new deal with BH where they could produce the fruitflow much cheaper. Once BH produce the new fruitflow product then may be Coca-Cola and Unilever will sign agreements to include fruitflow in their product. Hope good time is not too far and probably PXS will be in profit in very near future imho.
Yes sounds good. Just let me knowvwhen your down. We can then meet in the newly renovated crown pagenhill
Thx for offer Kievs, I'm down you way early next month so we should meet up for a mulled wine. Sounds like the AGM was worth going to after all !!!
alf, I read it as Gretna police and thought how does he know that ?
Bleedin obvious, if it were we wouldn't being have this conversation.
BTW, according to Peng He's slides the cost of tomatoes in China is significantly lower than California and EUs. Suspect another deal with BH to share this saving.

Thought I would check in and see how things are going here, still waiting and holding, nothing new from me, or pxs it seems :-)
Did anyone attend the AGM? Was there any good info from it? Thanks very much
G
Wellsite that is
Send me a private message with your phone number
Surely all relates to what can be clinically proven. I'm certain that nobody is overlooking any aspect of Fruitflow's benefits. The studies are all useful evidence, and will probably be ongoing.
No need to offend the Greta police by travelling long distances to ask the bleedin obvious IMHO
Should've travelled the 536 mile to the AGM myself and asked for clarification :-)

Chestnut or not it remains unclear as to the position regarding obtaining Blue Cap health claim status under the existing permitted health functions.
What is clear is that B-H are working on a regulatory submission for a new permitted health function claim for foods such as Fruitflow to be added to the existing health claim register and "If By-Health is successful in obtaining a new permitted health function claim it is currently expected that this would result in some significant orders for Fruitflow, potentially at a multiple of current total sales values."
How Blue Cap fits into the above is an unknown (to me anyway) but we know health foods are required to use a blue cap logo on their product packaging.
