Excellent opp here to add
Expect news flow and big gains
Davey - I agree with you to some extent and I am an ACA. Cost of Sales of only $200k on $5m revenue is very suspect ... does this specialised equipment really cost them next to nothing to make ? The huge increases in Trade Receivables and Payables are also ridiculous in proportion to the Revenue ... but I do think this can be explained by some bizarre accounting.
In the notes they refer to the "agreement with SLB was expanded in December 2023 for a cash consideration payable to Plexus of US$5.2m to enable SLB to use certain POS-GRIP technology on a worldwide basis" My gut tells me they have included this $5.2m as both trade receivable and payable ... remove this figure from both sides of the Balance Sheet and you have a more sensible picture ... of a growing and profitable small company !!! I joined in six months ago at 20p so am underwater, but feel there is a positive story to tell and continued contract wins are the key
I believe the synopsis say something like:
One swallow does not a summer make but it feels like it's getting warmer so dust off your BBQ in preparation for when it arrives.
I'll stress I'm no accountant but reading that update you bloody need to be one. At first glance you think wow what a turnaround massive profits from losses, then you think why have the liabilities doubled if they are raking in the cash. To me they are still loss making but showing profits due to one off in the accounts right or wrong folks ?

Ouch! Take a look at PFC this morning.
Over expansion, overdosed on cheap debt and....
Pleased to say POS in a much safer financial position.
Is another contract award pending?
Just a hunch, no clear economic intelligence to support it but signs of life in N Sea O&G.

Just a matter of patience imo.

Next tranche of deals coming ££
Check managements shareholding for why --- Ben is unlikely to sell for cheap or after the significant pain & hardship it went through to survive the last down-cycle...It would be silly to sell at this point of the recovery of the whole sector...
Could be availability of shares.....any enlightened person out there with knowledge of who owns the majority of shares? I suppose the company website ought to have that info.
I have a not insignicant amount of shares in plexus, mainly because I feel like it's at the bottom. However, maybe you've hit the nail on the head oogle, why hasn't a big company snapped this up? At the current market cap you would have thought it be very affordable for one of the big oil and gas companies.

Trio of satellite craft can map hot spots of methane leaks in a battle to address the second largest accelerant to global warming, namely methane escape. Obviously there are many different sources both natural and man made. The oil industry is right up there. Presumably there will be enforcement orders if not already

News of a contract on its way?
I think 2024 will be a decent year for POS as many North Sea well heads need to be mothballed, plugged etc.

It is not a Boom! kind of RNS merely news that they are producing a potential new product in partnership with a client. I doubt the market will notice the RNS this morning but we will find out shortly.
Seems like a bit of a 'nothing' RNS to me. They need to give us the outcome and net affect for Plexus. Ie we noticed this '...' the net impact is this '...' and net affect to plexus is '...'
New technology developed with a client to reduce leaks and save money. Good news imo.
"Plexus Holdings PLC, the AIM quoted oil and gas engineering services business and owner of the proprietary POS-GRIP® friction-grip method of wellhead engineering, known for its time and cost saving capabilities, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed a customer sponsored R&D project to develop a bespoke lifetime leak-proof replacement tubing hanger neck seal assembly ('HG-R'), to upgrade and extend the field life of existing surface production wellheads."

It is liable to bounce for no other reason than this....
It is a very small company with relatively illiquid shares held mostly by the management so when good news arrives even modest amounts of buying can give the market makers a headache. It is also the case that their technology is very good and needed as dozens of North Sea well heads are being plugged and abandoned.
Announced in March 2023 was the 8mil contract, hopefully we see a variation increase soon on that contracted maybe another 1 or 2mill
Fill your boots. 18.80p paid last Friday and 29p couple of months ago without this news.
Buy cheap now. it's going to bounce!

More good news to come in 2024 imo.
As you say though, good for plexus!?
Good news for POS but bad news for the UK plc.
Thanks to Net Zero idiocy and a 75% tax on profits oil and gas companies are plugging North Sea fields and walking away.

Paul doesnt do things by halves! Lets hope he is right about this. Incidentally the website for this company shows what an amazing bit of kit theses well caps are
Thanks oogle - Paul Scott advises similarly, just an analysis of companies rns and reporting. I use him to draw attention for myself of stocks and then look at them myself. Just like he doesn't always see eye to eye with his partner's analysis I am not drawn to some of the companies he reports as "green" ( good value). I just find it an interesting listen at the weekend. I will have a look at Paul Hill - thanks
Mad dog. Vox markets is well worth following. Paul Hill does good interviews with Harwood fund manager Chris Mills and also great interview with Stella Asset management.. mills is an expert stock picker and also sits/advises on a few boards in directorial capacities. Remember they are only analysing companies and disclosing positions. Not advising to buy anything. That’s up to you.. gl
Hi - I enjoy his podcast on a Saturday - do you guys listen to any other related podcasts
Possibly. He briefly discussed Plexus in his week-end small cap podcast at https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/episode-6-of-2024-uk-small-caps-with-paul-scott-5-9-feb-2024/id1642339156?i=1000644929811

Another decent contract win could see it jump 20%.
But....how far away is it?
The dodgy director deals are weighing heavy on the market now
They need to be properly compensated
Almost corporate theft
With no further orders a cash raise will be needed after summer
I would just be covering myself with a stop loss - I would assume if the share price collapsed 60 % on no news I would be questioning why the company would not send some form of communication to reassure investors. Anyway I do not want to sound negative hopefully it will not drop to those levels and my investment will be fine. Fingers crossed
Whilst I appreciate your sentiment Maddog I don't understand why you'd sell on no news. We have no news good or bad. That fluctuation would suggest it could should up the otherwise pretty quick too.
Feels like I am missing something - £9k in sells takes another £600k of Market value if drop is to be believed. Will stick for now but if it gets to single digits I will lick my wounds and sell up

I bought in looking at sentiment and fundamentals - we made a £4.2 million loss last year and this year with the Imporved $8 mill contract and the $5.2 mill royalty payment leading to a reduction in debt I thought 14.44 (my buy price) was a good entry. Hoping for a few more contracts and when the next interims arrive a more positive outlook
A lot of the mess has been cleared up albeit the directors have stolen shareholder assets on the cheap
Need to get contracts or can see VC money putting it out of its misery on the cheap £20?
No idea. Not actually that high value (£) in terms of trades though. What do we think the time horizon on this share before we see some real movement?
Quite a drop on no news

SLB is a big player.....
Far too technical. They need to start giving revenue and earnings targets otherwise they'll just lose investors attention. The stock will just become a conviction investment based on people's belief in Ben and his sales team - perhaps it is that already.
Too technical for me !! I sold yesterday as I fear it will be a long wait given the changing horizons and bespoke nature of the opportunity and because - to be completely frank - I don't understand their business sector well enough (please excuse the pun).
I'll keep watching. Good luck to those who hold.
A very technical but comprehensive explanation ref the deal with SLB. I trust in Ben v B and am willing to give this deal time to produce orders and profits.

I am now the proud owner (again) of POS and SHI stock. Let's hope my portfolio will be flushed with success!
Paul talks through the stocks he and Graham Neary reviewed in their Small Caps Value Report (SCVR) that week on Stocko which is based on RNSs issued each day so this is the playlist.
I read the SCVR each day but also listen to Paul's podcast each weekend, with the SCVR open on my laptop, as I like the additional colour he adds.
I also find many of the comments added by other subscribers to the SCVR, a number of whom are professional investors, of high quality and very useful in providing me with investment ideas and pointing out the pros and cons of various stocks.
Thank you. I just joined and still feeling my way around it. Does he ever list out the stock tickers covered in each episode or does one just have to listen rather than cherry pick. I bought more on the good news / dip so very glad to see that the market has now come round to my way of thinking on this deal!
I should say POS is from 10:19 minutes (although I think the rest is well worth a listen. Personally, I listen each week and subscribe to Stocko)

Importantly the market, or small traders are buying. Suspect the major shareholders were not as alarmed about the RNS as were some. In my own case I had not read the RNS fine print and thought it was good news.
B van B was always positive about the oil &gas investments post 2022. It looks as though the momentum is building up, not the time to dive out in my humble opinion. It's the unknown unknowns which worry me here....someone with cheaper goods. But SLB is a large drilling company and by the sound of the tie-up it should benefit Plexus.
Reassuring thanks for posting.
Plexus Holdings PLC (AIM:POS) chief executive Ben van Bilderbeek speaks to Thomas Warner after the oil and gas engineering and service business announced a major $5.2mln deal with SLB (formerly Schlumberger).
The deal gives SLB a perpetual royalty free license for POS-GRIP technology and HG® seal technology plus any improvements, enhancements, or derivatives to the technology for surface wellhead production applications for all pressure and size ranges.
Van Bilderbeek emphasises that Plexus has not sold its core assets. Instead, the agreement pertains to a high-volume business area that Plexus does not prioritise. Furthermore the licensing agreement with SLB leaves room for Plexus to supply high-specification wellhead products on a limited basis.
Van Bilderbeek described this as a new dawn for Plexus, highlighting the versatility of its technology in and outside the oil and gas sector. He mentions the company's involvement in subsea wellhead technology, metal-to-metal sealing, and plug-and-abandonment applications, among other areas.
The deal also enables Plexus to retain the intellectual property for bespoke wellhead solutions. The partnership with SLB includes access to SLB's Valves and Trees products, enhancing Plexus's service offerings.
Looking forward, Plexus aims to expand globally, moving into markets in North America, Mexico, the Far East, and potentially the CIS. Van Bilderbeek expresses optimism about this strategic expansion and the potential of the partnership with SLB.

Never top up your position in a share that's dropping. Well I did and so far so good!
Quite simply it is a straight toss up between whether you believe the company holds no latent value beyond the deal it has done with SLB, or whether there is other valuable IP which justified taking an upfront cash boost to avoid further dilution later down the line.
There are a few small clues (but largely unexplained) in the recent RNS which was reputedly "culled" under NDA:
1) The Agreement also includes a non-exclusive licence to SLB for Adjustable Surface Production Wellheads, and HG Trees with the potential to generate royalties for Plexus from such special applications of the POS-GRIP technology.
2) Plexus has the right to continue operating in the sector on a limited basis and to retain ownership of the original IP.
3) Plexus may quote SLB Valves and Trees combined with Plexus wellheads on a project basis, subject to SLB approval.
These are the nuggets which point towards further revenue generation but for now I imagine Paul Scott must be spitting feathers!
Way overdone, sensible deal imo with the cash injection, lots to go for here this will be one of the stocks of the year
The sp currently.
