Any one have level 2 here? Looking to see what the order book is like. Thanks
Trying to put a positive spin on it, it is ever-so-slightly starting to edge back up again after the recent ridiculous 350s (wish I'd had money left over to fill my boots then!), even if it can't hold onto its daily highs. As others have said, roll on 7/11 for some hopefully proper positive news followed by some proper SP movement.
I wonder whether there has been another institution buy today....sells £1m , buys £2m? I'm assuming another RNS tomorrow confirming the purchase of Invesco's sale a few days ago. I wander if its Coltrane topping up their stake again today?
And Theborn calls the ball and we close at 410 as you predicted but still a gain is a gain ??
this thing cant hold on to any substantial gains. Its like a rollarcoaster. Gets to the top then craps itself.
So turns out it was Invesco selling down more - I suspect we'll see another RNS later seeing Coltrane or another large investor increasing by a similar amount.
Great news as far as I'm concerned. Could only be trumped if it was Woodford himself selling down. Let's wait and see.
im going agaisnt my own practial advice. Going to try day trading it..
I’d like that as feel I could justify one more bite close to £4 and then try to hold my nerve as long as possible Will be watching the “O” and “UT” trades at close for large amounts
We'll probably be back below £4 by close of play today so have another chance to load up then.
This thing just cant hold any sort of consistent gain. All well and good spiking 5% intraday but get zero momentum when closing flat. FTSE up 1% today so no excuse for PFG not to be 5%+ up by close. If I had to bet I'd say 410p close possible but 405p or less more likely.
Putting things in perspective though PFG is only just at a one month high and three months ago it was £5 so I’m imagining best case is a saw tooth upward move or maybe it’ll spike if a) Directors buy ahead of embargoed period pre announcement or b) an institution senses it’s now or never to get a bargain but I’m now too close to my average to pursue the weighting down strategy and just have to decide if I want to risk more for a larger but uncertain upside or smaller nearer term hit and it’s always that dilemma that haunts any small investor who simply can’t take a very long term view on a share or sector
Hi barrie
Yes, I thinks short have been a fair bit last time I looked.
Thoughts are with the people of NYC this morning and all those who were affected by 9/11
Pleasing to see the rise in the price which has exceeded yesterday’s level
Will look out for evidence of volume purchases
Wonder if short positions have been taken out?
Hows things guys. Theborn, Barrie. Any thoughts for today?
Think 26/9 so you’re close
No sorry but ifinstitutions holdings cross thresholds we normally see RNS in several days so wait and see I guess
Interesting I saw a lot of small buyers in the morning as well so maybe private investors are starting to support the share and if enough do the price may find support at current level and push on though I’ve no confidence in its trajectory or stability until some concrete news comes out to support recovery in SP
Sells £3m, buys £5m, must have been some institutional activity again today. Any ideas who? SP increases by c5% price then drops straight back down again. Just another normal day in PFG land I guess, sigh...
Can someone please remind me when the dividend becomes payable? 27/09 sticks in my mind.
Again
Volatility rules
Agree unless something quite unusual happens
Opened down this morning then rallied but I’m afraid volatility maybe the watchword for PFG
Remember remember the 7th November
that rise every day would be unlikly - what I would like to see is a strong, stable rise to where it should be. not progressive declines with the occational rally. I think until more news about woodford, moneybarn and the FCA come out this will trade in the rnage bracket i suggested. (i think)
Nice to see a SP gain today. I'll be happy for this to continue by the same amount each day for the rest of the year. Who knows, I might even get back to approaching even at some point!
No it’s something that’d I’d had in the long distant past as used to trade on CFDs but nowadays my trades are small and infrequent so I just have the basic real-time price package on ADVFN
Might be helpful I agree to get a sense of where things are going though as PFG easing back after lots of small selling as far as I can see though a good day by recent standards
do you have level 2 barrie?
Couple of big sale trades at 3.15 but looks like shares moving between big holders and may see profit taking from small investors who got in well below £4 but not me I’m holding for longer term
Don’t worry I’m not buying it but there’s been some institutional activity ??
hmm could this be the last time to bag this under £4 p/s, or have I out the dreaded curse on it like barrie? ? :)
