I thought the price would've had a lift the week before the Santos deal is tied up?
As for the results next week, the board has no choice but to come out with some concrete positive news or they will have to walk!
You make some solid points monkeymoo! Fully agree with your analysis but to present it better you need to look at enterprise value and not market cap ! That’s the way I usually go about it anyway ... Also I wouldn’t be surprised if they start to look for other assets once these new Santos assets have bedded in to the portfolio! Production figures similar to enquest are not a million miles away IMO !
news due Friday/Monday yes by sounds of it for completion of producing assets - 25,000 BOEPD shortly, throwing off $180 million dollars of free cash flow annually - $75 million dollars of cash - £280 mill mkt cap..looks cheap to me ..compare to ENQ £521 mil and PMO £1 bill mkt caps (yes BOPD production is higher 36K & 76K respectively but they are sitting on huge debt - £1.4 bill & £2.4 bill respectively unlike with OPHR) - then you still have the other assets (incl. Fortuna)
oil is headed ...
With the way oil isn’t headed this looks cheap to me
crash n burn
dyor
lol
What makes you think they are doing nothing ... did the Santos deal pass you by ?
New Captain will ensure the ship is on an even keel asap, loads of additional cash will be rolling in from next Friday.
Yes, but if they got off their useless lazy as*es and did something, or just about anything other than nothing, then there might actually be people buying to absorb the seller
The mgt have no control over who sells as in this case a large fund has been off-loading, so absolutely nothing to do with the management i'm afraid. W
Haven't looked in here for a while since selling. Despite oil rallying lately this is still dropping and going nowhere. The management of this company are a disgrace and should be ashamed- how they manage and get away with this much share price destruction and still sit at their desks, do F all and get paid for it i have no idea. Complete contempt for shareholders
Spot on A A
Desperado Ramping .
Its only money .....
No I held before twice, I sold at a profit twice and twice at a loss. I'd have to check but I think I am down on those trades. My intention has always been to long term hold but sometimes I give positions a rest. I will buy more if it keeps dropping and don't have a sell target. Good luck! I try not to obsess with a share and so as a rule try not to pay too much attention to share boards. Good luck. Back in September.
Glad 13th September is a Thursday and not a Friday ! LOL
As soon as I top up it goes down further !!! Just gone for another 10,000 shares at 41p! Price now 39.xx !! Frustrating glad I never went all in ! Best thing to do with this is average it out over a few weeks I think ! Nice to see some decent 2x 1 Million share orders go through ! That’s definitively not a PI lol !!
Market already knows santos is done deal but not making any bit of difference to sp,even a desperate RNS could not save this. low volume etc . Wishfull thinking , The market is waiting for half year shocker results soon on the 13 september .
See you all at 30-35p range :)
Keep average down ya..
Golden rule don't invest for a takeover as invariably it leads to a weak order book, lots of weak speculators. I think it's a good one for a SIPP. I also hold outside of that with an average below 40p.
Going back to takeovers I am surprised there wasn't more deals when the oil price dropped. I am sure there's a few in the pipeline, get it boom boom. One problem with this is - what would be a good price, I doubt institutions would accept 60,70,80 pence. Maybe 80 but hopefully you see my point.
Back into the 30's again.
Probably over 95% of the the holders of these share sit at an average price of around £2.00 and they are not selling! so to crash so much on almost no volume is very hard to understand?
Agree LC! But also to point out that it’s not just sailing stone who were sellers in recent months but I believe another institution has also reduced their holding by approximately 1-2 % ! Hopefully once they are done and we start seeing operational progress, things should start to improve in terms of SP!
Agreed LC! I think September should be a very interesting month one way or another ! With half yearly results, formal deal completion and getting nearer to SE Asia drilling campaign in Q4! Also as you say, news on Tanzania and Fortuna! Would be very surprised if we closed September at around this price !
Santos Deal has been approved ! Onwards and upwards !!
Low volume to me suggests market still negative on this and will drift further until next half year financials 13 September which will probably be suprising, we may even see 30-35p range after that. with floor of 30p.
“Just imagine if Fortuna or Tanzania happen - this share could hit 100p+ in days :)” ——— I totally agree LC!! That’s why I’m in this ! Tanzania or Fortuna could be game changers! Also sale of Tanzania alone should wipe off debt and take us back to a net cash position! I especially like what’s happening in SE Asia and would really like another acquisition or 2 over there! My previous SE oiler was Coastal Energy who got purchased for multiples of what I bought for!
Yes but on a 7 million share trading day ! Sailing stone won’t be the only one in the market ! Assuming they decide to sell a million shares / day it’ll take around 4 weeks (20 trading days to disappear) ! I’m happy knowing that beginning of Q4 we should be much higher! If they want to sell out completely , they can sell within the next 6 weeks ! I can’t see it taking longer than that !
So the rns stated 2.89% 20 million shares left.... I wonder how many more they are planning on selling. If they are still feeding the market could take quite a while. When the seller is out this will rise. But untill this will go sideways.
