Testing poping up allover
Shetland Islands Council is already on record saying that they would submit proposals to the Scottish Government on how to manage lateral flow testing at points of entry.
Wishart said: “Both ministers were constructive in their approach and I welcome confirmation that the Scottish Government is keen to work with the island authorities and health boards on proposals for testing at entry points to Shetland.
“Having such a system of testing in place could give additional reassurance and confidence both to those travelling as well as to our island communities.
Just had a notification that our annual industry exhibition , which is over 4 days and attracts approx 20;000 delegates , will take place in October
The organisers have mentioned that free quick testing would be available and essential for all delegates and exhibitors on entrance every day during the full 4 days
This will also apply to all stand builders prior to the opening of the conference, and all connected with making this a commercial success
Sign of the times going forward
Cavity - Is that a problem? I look at that as a solution to be solved buy Omega - Expansion - In 6/12 months time when Omega are doing 2 mill a day, it still won't be enough - As you say there is not enough tests, but you also need to balance this against the BJ rollout, this is why tests are not available to everyone, only specific groups - UK Gov can only roll out a programme with the amount of product they have in stock, as the stock goes up, the testing programme will expanded so more and more people can have access.
There are 40 million plus tourists that visit the UK - All these people will need access to buy a test, hopefully at entry, airports to start and access to buy on the high street, hotel chains etc.
The UK Event Industry In Numbers - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/blog/academy/uk-event-industry-in-numbers-ds00/
The events sector is worth £42.3 billion to the UK economy in terms of direct spend by event delegates, attendees and organisers.
Testing is here of a long time, severall billion a year on testing is nothing when we start to compare what the economy numbers, its peanuts. For Omega its massive, for us investors its a once in a lifetime ride with a end destination.
imo Cavity the answer to your capacity question is that the Government have a huge capacity infrastructure lined up (or being finalised) to make the British LFT Tests.
At the moment although we have had little clues all we see is the tip of the iceberg.
ATM I think the government psychologists have been telling the Government to hang back on the big Operation Moonshot "Reveal" so as not to detract from the minds of the public and the Press who they think can only deal with one big message at a time.
Interesting though that even in this mornings media the narrative seems to be changing.
The problem is and what I was trying to highlight on Friday we as a new diagnostic industry country just cannot produce enough accurate tests! Our numbers are a drop in the ocean as to what is needed so where are the Government going to get all their so accurate tests from!!If they start using rubbish Lft’s to booster numbers then there is a danger that all will get tarred with the same brush ! Can we build further expansion or will the Government look to big pharma for help !
