If you'd bothered to read the last RNS, you would have seen that they put a JG show in the can last year.
As for the rest of your drivel, I can't even be bothered to reply to it.
kingofkeighley,
1. I did not insinuate that MelodyVR have colluded with Apple or Google, you have incorrectly inferred that. Social media interest and downloads as I am sure you are fully aware, can simply be bought.
2. With an annual revenue of £195K in 2019, I concur that this company is plainly not focused on revenues.
3. I very much look forward to hearing the details about the one show you have got in the bag.
Break a leg,

I agree, I think Melody showed themselves really well this weekend. The tech worked flawlessly and I'd argue the best moments were in the more intimate LA studio or throwbacks to previous Wireless (the two things Melody has most ownership of.)
On top of that, I continue to be impressed by how well designed the mobile app is. It's incredibly easy to use with great design. The marketing/branding throughout the whole weekend was on point, too. I think we all wish they started pushing it sooner, but the latter demonstrates a company building something beyond just the tech.
The only thing I would have hoped for was at least a sniff of affiliate marketing. From what I could tell BLM wasn't pushed at all in production which could have demonstrated how brands (i.e. JD, Boohoo, Nike etc.) could display on the monitors or ads in breaks etc. I feel like this could have been an easy win and help build more revenue in the near future. I equally don't get why Wireless Fest or Live Nation wouldn't have worked to secure this, given they've made zilch $$$ and are refunding tickets like Nobody's business. Hopefully the conversations are ongoing and this weekend effectively demonstrated the potential for advertising in upcoming LA performances.
Super weekend for MVR; showed flawless technical abilities with Wireless Festival, and garnered huge awareness/coverage across multiple mediums.
The climbing of the app charts was astonishing. Sat nicely amongst Spotify, Amazon et al.
Has proved itself. I maintain H2 of 2020 will be defining for MVR. Atb all holders
Yes would be brilliant to do this with some "proper" music... people can tell me what they like about the grime scene being the "big thing" with the youth of today but essentially it is awful and will never be a world leading musical genre. If we could do this all again with some world leading rock / indie / folk acts as you say Robidicus it would drive 10x more traffic to the app. The grime scene is popular I know but is hugely limited to one small niche audience usually all under 25. Older folk who have more purchasing power just as much interest in tech are isolated with that garbage. It's time to take Melody truly mainstream.
Theater VR me thinks ;) and lots lots more imo
My personal view is that the only relevant short term question is, what next? Festival/music providers look at what we've done and make their mind up. IF, someone like Reading and Leeds decided to do this you could expect 10x the numbers shared this morning.
Top of the morn all......
Moddler
How long has the Drum Pad Machine’s app been going for to achieve its download stats?
Well....
Apple snapped up Next VR. If they want to 'collude' with Melody and buy them for a stupid amount of $, that's fine we me and I suspect the majority here LOL.
I guess all android phone manufacturers are colluding as well as we were trending at No 2 there for most of yesterday. Strange theory!
Apple.... Colluding with Melody....???
Interesting point 'Modeller' if this is the case, would it be fair to suggest that the two have a greater relationship than meets the eye? Apple of late have accelerated their internal VR/AR developments and WITHOUT any doubts Apple are fully aware of Melody. They were APP of the day and over the weekend they proved to all they have a place in the Top 10, no question.
Good morning Modeller, great to have an alternative perspective on 2019 for MelodyVR.
Reading through the whole RNS I would like to raise several points of research and development and the fact investor (s) bought into the company.
Development of the technology, development and testing of VR viewer, carrying out a production with John Gore and preparation for a year of Festivals. The revenues dropped due to no monetisation (part of strategy), building up of the team and building and maintaining the APP.
The losses are extremely frugal, in this year without borrowing they have researched, developed and built LA & Ally Pally sets, and staged a fantastic festival.
This is the strategy of a large company, MelodyVR have carried this out on a small budget with great success.
As in the RNS, MelodyVR are continuing the building of the library of content, they will be releasing the VR Viewer, releasing further artist and monetising the product, alongside releasing the library of content, recording more artists and working with John Gore theatre experiences.
A very balanced and robust strategy I would have thought, not to mention negotiating new partnerships, promoting the APP and further enhancing the product.
In my opinion, there is nothing to be criticising here, only encouragement to achieve the above. GLA
Dont get what your insinuating Modeller? That Apple are somehow colluding with MelodyVR to push their app up their charts? What nonsense! User ratings are totally irrelevant to a trending app... sure the MelodyVR app will now start to drop back down the rankings until new content is released but for that weekend we were top 5 most used apps fair and square.
Revenues ain't the game at the moment in case you hadn't noticed this was again a free festival so revenues will again be poor. We are in the brand exposure stage and the brand couldnt have got much more exposure than it did this weekend. You never heard of the terms "speculate to accumulate"?
Well weve already been told Melody have got one theatre production in the bag which I'm almost certain will be the very popular and highly rated Be More Chill and am sure this will be released as paid content once the subscription goes live. Others will be on the way once theatres are back up and running and no doubt once the New York studio opens many smaller scale productions will be recorded and released in due course.
Fundamentals
All social media can be engineered and downloads are certainly no different. The charts are regularly updated and we can expect a correction beyond the current spike, but an iOS music app position of eight, based on only 363 user ratings does not appear entirely organic and requires scrutiny. By way of comparison, Drum Pad Machine’s app currently at number seven, has > 45k user ratings.
Beyond the hyperbole of Wireless 2020 - last year’s ‘unreconstructed Wireless festival’ revenues were captured in the accounts for year ended 31.12.2019, and these make for sobering reading: Total revenues for the year decreased by 83% to £195k and net loss increased 33% to £15m. When normal service at festivals is resumed, one wonders whether it would not be more lucrative if MelodyVR’s team simply flipped burgers?
Finally, MelodyVR’s long standing relationship with John Gore’s organisation has thus far failed to produce any meaningful content, but what content will be made available? By way of an example, one really cannot imagine JG wanting to release, and lose control of a promising new musical which would cannibalise revenues from a potentially long Broadway run - this leaves us with end of run or historic shows (interested to hear the thoughts of others on this).
All the best old loves,
