on the drift here, down 10% plus in a week or two, wonder is there a reason?
sorry post meant for bkir greece talk
cant see imf/ecb , gettting egg off face ,without some twist today ...deal has to come today regardless of ref....deal today , things settle down tomorrow , open thurseday.... or this world is completely ran by children!
the progress is in the fact that INM are, for the first time in years, looking forward. As you say though, D O'B could be a hindrance. Still, its light at the end of a very dark tunnel and growth by acquisition is the logical step.
And besides, there will be ructions if DOB gets effective control over any more media assets. Can't happen, in my opinion, short of the other party facing close down.
but is it? Buying all around them is what got them into trouble before. Sure, there are a few Irish concerns that might be buyable, but are they viable as additions to the group?
unfortunately i'm still miles off break even and not prepared to average down either. with a valuation of around 8x earnings inm isnt expensive at this price. i just hope they use the free cash to invest in something/anything that takes them to a place where they can demonstrate growth and that the business has a future. it would be the last piece of the jigsaw. I will be very disappointed if they pay any of it out as a dividend. Having said all that i do have some hope for the future now so will watch with interest.
Nice price for apn (88c) considering it is trading at 83c on day of transaction !! Nice volumes. I expect new "year high" shortly. Been along few years but i have recouped loss and doubled it!Gla
INM are in a position they could only have dreamed about a few years ago. Zero debt and 25million cash in the bank. ok so gone are India, S Africa, UK, Australia and New Zeland but there's nothing wrong with stating at the bottom and building again. Its still a company in a very precarious market place but at least now it does't have to fight with one hand tied behind its back. a new dawn..????
Right.
must be 5% traded this week ......something moving here....time will put us wide GLA
Not long now till it moves up to this level.
Until the day comes that INM can generate a revenue increase without having to rely on cut costing its difficult to be positive. There is potential now that debt has been cleared but they have GOT to reverse the downward spiral. we need net growth within the business.
Or needs another significant stake builder!
Looks like advertising was up but the circulation of newspapers was down, with the difference off-set by cost savings. So no net change. Still has to be some value with the debts cleared that should save 4-5 million/ year. Need to see a dividend or acquisition to lift confidence in the stock and in turn the share price. INM is just not a sexy stock at the moment with low volumes traded.
Not great news, revenue still falling. Surprising, considering business buoyancy generally.
This has to be the most bullish INM piece I have seen in the last 5 years. Independent News & Media Independent of debt: excellent prospects for free cash flow generation should lead to stock re-rating May 15 2015 | Robert Stokes CFA | Morning briefing | 1 page(s) | Read Important Disclosures The outlook for Independent News & Media (INM) has improved. It is now an ‘island of Ireland’ business with a transformed balance sheet following the sale of its stake in APN. This transaction ends a period of restructuring for the group. INM can now focus on growing its earnings, generating free cash flow and using this free cash flow to either pursue acquisition targets or potentially look to return cash to shareholders. On the basis of our revised earnings forecasts, we see good potential for the stock. We set a new 12-month price target of 29.5c.
There were a lot of shares traded over the last few weeks, anyone know if someone is building or adding to their existing stake. Seems to have settled in 20-21c range. Would assume 23-25c is realistic over the next few months, once APN stake is offloaded and their is always the potential of a dividend in the summer.
obviously some big news out at 4 o clock judging by the way this took off. shot up 7% in 30mins.
Over 11m buys in Dublin at 19c since 10am
This morning at 19c. Pity I didn't take 22c after APN sale announment. Still a nice profit. GLA left here.I might revisit again another time. There is good promise here still.
Large volume of sales going through lately (O'Reilly shares?) but price has remained resilient. The APN realisation value seems to be underpinning a base price of €19cent. No significant buys showing
Any ideas over these large trades and canceled trades. Is it to do with APN.
2014 INM share of Aussie profits = €10m Less interest payments €6m Equals = €4m profit. 2015 INM Share of Aussie profits = 0 Less interest payments = 0 Equals = €0 profit. Maybe the trophy asset wasn't such a burden after all.
