Morning, looks like a busy start to Sunday on this board :-)
Hi Droderick, very glad you attended meetings, have encouraged SHs to attend. Very surprised you haven’t shared info with others on this board after the meetings though..?
I have been asked by residents from North Islandmagee to support their objection & to wait to speak with them at meetings. They have also expressed feeling uncomfortable by the company having security guards present.
Re jobs, the company original EIA stated “jobs opportunities post build are relatively small scale” - screen shot of document from EIA here:
https://twitter.com/leesadee_imagee/status/1190939650212401153?s=12
Not sure what changed or where evidence is of “at least 60” jobs...?
EU status could change things, but builds over 80 workers have/had to go to tender to EU for work force (which can provide a cheaper workforce, so not sure what build wage bill the company have factored in).
If you knew me or my work you would know I state facts on twitter (some SHs follow me) which could be why there appears to be so much concern when I post here. I also don’t engage in any “vitriolic bile” & I don’t use fb. There is aggressive behaviour from some SH & infa supporting accounts but I don’t lump people together, I view people as individuals & in how they treat me personally. A good lesson I think.
Some info re the 3 marine licenses, once new environmental docs submitted are assessed & if deemed up to standard, DAERA have to produce further reports based on the info submitted, eg developer submits sHRA for NIEA to then produce full HRA based on info supplied etc, so more work to be done I believe...
So the point being?
We all know there is work ongoing and further work to be done. So what new are you telling anybody?
Insofar as your earlier is post is concerned, I don't think you need to be patronising and be glad that I was there or encourage SH to come to these consultations. We are adults and really don't need your hand-holding. I don't see anything wrong in having a couple of security guards manning the doors given that we have had government personnel in as well. So this is an issue more in your head than anyone else's. As far as I have seen, no one has really come up to you and had a conversation with you. You come, ask the same questions, over and over again, and then hang around. There are a number of shareholders every time and we happen to have eyes to see what is going on.
And guess what - we continue to hold and build further.
My sense is that you really have nothing to credibly say so your tactics are purely predicated upon scare-mongering and rumour-mongering.
Hi again Droderick, do I really concern you so much to be this aggressive? With regards to being adults & hand holding, I’m sure posters on this board are also able to make up their own minds on what I post. I post evidence & links & I’m pretty sure people here are wise enough to make up their own minds. Go well :-)
Trouble is:
1. You don't post any evidence and when you do, it is redacted, edited and massaged to suit your narrative
2. You make unwise and unwarranted statements
3. You have a very clear agenda to scupper ANY and EVERY project in that region.
You don't concern me one bit. Life is way too short.....
I know I may have been doubtful recently but I have my reasons and research so could the following please clarify from their own R&R:
JR: I am assuming the prior project INFA was involved in your refereeing to is Woodburn forest. Now you may not have as much experience in Dendrology as you do in wangling consultant reports but can you explain how knocked down trees are meant to regrow in 3 years by themselves because I have a very fertile back garden and I am struggling to get the Fir growing big enough for Christmas for 9 years now.
LD: Your messages on here are quite toned down compared to Twitter e.g. environmental concerns V toxic waste - can you explain what is toxic about putting salty water into saltwater and why the government departments aren't as concerned about the local fish as you are (I would love to know what the Ballylumford power station pollution levels are in comparison to Infrastatas seemingly safe plans - has anyone any evidence of good or bad experiences from similar salt cavern storage projects around the world or is it just as case of make it sound as bad as possible in the hope that it goes away?). Also if there was no "need" for this project then why would Vitol be willing to secure an offtake agreement? A big energy company is not going to just store gas for the craic if there was not going to be a demand in the market?
Bruce - I do know the difference between 3 year old growing trees and dead trees. Doesn’t need a horticultural degree to work that one out Sherlock. I also know what the INFA RPS consultant reports said about the tree growth back at Woodburn. I was however merely making the point on the subjectivity of consultant reports against the reality of what may happen on the ground.
That's exactly right Brucealrighty,
it is high time we shareholders called these so-called experts out on their BS. But we probably already know their response, don't we?
Hi Bruce,
It isn’t salty water, it’s toxic hypersaline brine, that will create a kill zone (admitted by the company) & in a designated SAC, newly designated for the protection of harbour porpoise, highly protected area & species. The hypersaline brine sends sea creatures into toxic shock. I’m also not sure you can assume at the moment that environmental gov depts are not as concerned as residents, there is no current evidence for that, we will have to wait & see on that front. Until the full suite of documents are released for consultation I can’t really comment any further, we’re all playing the waiting game..
Regarding Vitol, I have read that gas storage in EU is full of cheap gas, yet producers aren’t slowing production, so could be a fear of having to slow/stop production if no storage? I may be completely off the mark here, but see link to Reuters & Bloomberg articles:
https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-europe-gas-analysis-idUKKCN1US0KU
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-03/gas-prices-poised-to-fall-in-europe-as-producers-keep-taps-open
I understand that Stublach was over subscribed in GB, but does anyone have figures on turnover..? Just my thoughts, all the above is IMO & always DYOR ...
Sunday will be double time Lisa, good job the fundraising disco coming up to recharge the expense account!
Hi Spud, good to see you ;-)
You looked at Stublach in some detail I think, did you find any detail on turnover, or just that it was over subscribed...?
So here is the thing:
You claim that the hypersaline brine discharge will send sea creatures into toxic shock. Can you enlighten us on the following given the vast depth of your knowledge on marine biology:
1. What is the purported level of salinity
2. What is the discharge rate across every hour during a 24 hour period
3. What is the tidal flow and how does that impact on brine discharge
4. What exactly are these sea creatures that you are talking about?
5. What evidence do you have in the UK to demonstrate that sea life has not come back after leaching has been completed?
And given that you are so well versed on social media, I am assuming that you will have no problem in uploading your clear evidence backed and scientific reports backing up all your claims. I look forward to reading these detailed reports and I really mean it.
What does Stublach revenues have to do with Islandmagee? Given that you spend hours at every public consultation, can you please provide us ignorant shareholders why Stublach can be compared to Islandmagee except that both are salt caverns?
Thank you for the reports on Reuters and Bloomberg - how does that tie into your argument that we don't need gas storage in this country? As I said, you have mastered the art of manipulating information to suit your narrative such that all the bits that you throw out, when read together, just don't hang.
Finally, lets understand your position:
1. You have no scientific background nor any evidence claiming what you are claiming but will continue to protest on a rather flakey basis
2. You don't understand EU regulations and how they work but still have a strong public opinion about it
3. You have scant knowledge about how UK and global gas markets function and your only source of information are reports from Bloomberg and Reuters.
Your question from this morning becomes highly relevant now: Why should I or any shareholder for that matter be concerned with you? I think you have answered that question succinctly.
Since you are so
Drod, this is the same person who called a meeting at the beginning of the year and told everyone she got the gaelectric CAES project stopped!
Not only misleading but a down right lie!
The protesters spread lots of misleading info on social media from 3 mile wide kill zones to storing nuclear waste in the caverns! Project fear fed by fake news
Dead Sealife to match their dead trees. Doesn’t seem like INFA are a responsible environmental company. In today’s world where politicians are putting environmental issues to the top of their manifestos it doesn’t look good for you guys.
You really are starting to sound concerned droderick... glad Spud is back, Stublach being oversubscribed was his big sell for infa, so he may be able to enlighten you...
Re the public consultation I’ll be responding with all other stakeholders & concerned residents at the appropriate time. Until the evidence is released it isn’t possible to comment ...
Spud I called a meeting with the North Islandmagee residents who I’ve represented for 4 years, & continue to represent...
At least you can get paid for it now...
That's exactly right Spud,
What we have really established this morning are two things:
1. Both LD and JR have zero clue about what they are talking about
2. Both are rumour and fear mongering individuals
3. Both have ZERO evidence about anything that they are claiming
Welcome to the fantastic world of FAKE NEWS!
I couldn't agree more Speedy, by spouting words like "balanced" and "transparent" LD doesn't actually become that. If there is no real (not fabricated) evidence to back her claims, then she needs to stop spreading FAKE NEWS.
I just like the fight and the wind up if I'm honest
LD, why play the victim card all of a sudden now that your flakey claims are being called out? Have the courage to stand up to your empty claims. Do not hide behind the curtain of "waiting for Infa's reports to come in". Show us your reports and your evidence to disprove all that Infa have been saying - how difficult can that be?
All you have done is throw mud at Infa, challenged their credibility and work on the basis of nothing but opinions at best and lies at worst. The shareholders are completely entitled to challenge your drivel. We have honest monies and aspirations invested here - what have you got invested at any level for that matter?
Speedy I treat everyone as I find them ... I happily converse with SHs on twitter, & and I’m not abusive to anyone ...
You do however have serious interactions with the most abusive, aggressive protest Twitter account.....
Spud,
LD has close interaction with the most vile comments on Twitter and FB. LD has not once condemned the behaviour and language exhibited against JT and JW for all these months. There is no use pretending to be nice and cordial here whilst spreading the viciousness on other channels, whether directly or indirectly. This is clearly a good cop/bad cop approach that the group has deployed. Trouble is, whether nicely delivered or not, baseless FAKE NEWS is still just that
Guys why not address the links I’ve posted & qs on Stublach? It is pertinent info I’d have thought?
Everyone has to wait for the enviro reports to come in ... any comment now would be on 10year old info, which wouldn’t be appropriate... You could look at the gas storage issue in the EU & comment on that as it’s all I’ve posted here today (apart from the toxicity of brine that you already know about..). A lot of what is discussed here is opinions, I thought that was how chat boards worked?
Yes there are residents who are angry at the company, & may express that in a more antagonistic way than I would, just like there are accounts that very abusive that you team up with on twitter Spud, but I think treat people as they treat you. I chat to other SHs who have liked antagonistic tweets, but they are fine with me, so it’s grand. That’s life.
