£3m in cash. Is that enough for all their plans? Thats what the market is asking imo
Nice to see them stepping up and taking on the anti frackers over one of their biggest deceptions..
"Developing UK shale gas resources can reduce gas prices, reduce the country's carbon footprint by replacing imports, improve our balance of payments and the country's tax revenues, and lead to job creation in areas where they are most needed, as part of the Government's levelling up agenda.
Comparing UK spot gas prices with US spot gas prices at a fraction of the cost, demonstrates how a domestic gas supply can decouple gas prices from expensive LNG prices. "
It all looks so positive from here.
How high can this go over the next 5years? £10, £15, £20.
Growth potential looks assured, yes?

Very clear from the results that the future is exciting, and very lucrative for the business as it leads the way in various developments to take the country towards net zero, particularly with geothermal expertise.
Right now, igas represents an excellent investment opportunity with considerable upside from a plethora of diverse projects.
Now is the time to buy.

Potential to deliver 5 production well pads, with each pad having up to 16 wells, which would supply 3 million homes with initial production within 12-18 months with the right Government support to rapidly accelerate the development of this strategic national resource.
Massive reduction in losses. No increases in debt. Looking good.
I'm 33% up as of now. I don't want to lose it today please.

Can we realistically hold these prices and maybe a bit more with results on Thursday? is this rise too quick? Will results knock it down?
Report will be completed by June.
We will know by then.
All shareholders here and potential investors need to remember the portfolio of green energy sources being developed, fracking is essentially the Cherry on top a massive cake.

Sadly I tend to agree, given the very one-sided brief which has been given to the BGS. I hear the sound of cans being kicked down the road. I think it will take another sharp increase in prices and possibly public disquiet before Boris does the sensible thing. I would also hope the US government might give a strong nudge that they are unhappy we are not doing enough to help ourselves.
Exactly. Then it’s a licence to print .
Meet the criteria set down by the government, which we can, and fracking it is.
Best close that short.!!
Can we afford to be held ransom or can we extract 2 or 3 trillion cc of gas without cause the earth to implode......
Also they announced 3weeks ago that they could be pumping gas by the end of the year.

#Brentpetrol $LCO fibs charts that I've ballparked to about $150: tinyurl.com/ycvw9xyp
Try playing the ball.
Phoebus clearly shorting. As said below, if it’s safe around the world then it’s safe.
Definitely not a green light IMO. Politicians have to be seen to be doing things and listening to various constituencies. Some people want fracking so the government has to at least go through the motions of considering it. They may decide to give it the go ahead, but equally they may not. The public is clamoring for action to help with the immediate energy crisis and today's statement clearly notes the following.
'It remains the case that fracking in England would take years of exploration and development before commercial quantities of gas could be produced for the market, and would certainly have no effect on prices in the near term.'
I expect them to say yes for more UK offshore, more renewables, more house based energy saving, more LNG imports, more nuclear, but a NO for fracking.
Phoebus, They are reasonable expectations which science can now prove, and there is shale gas being extracted elsewhere in the world without drama.
In essence it’s a green light.
You can’t be all let’s go for it when the British public are watching. You need time to re-educate.
'However, unless the latest scientific evidence demonstrates that shale gas extraction is safe, sustainable and of minimal disturbance to those living and working nearby, the pause in England will remain in place.'
Not exactly a ringing endorsement and this has moved a long way.
Booooom
Great statement of confidence in being able to extract shale gas safely.
