With DUPTORIES coalitions, things could start to happen here.
its dirt cheap at the moment,
so, no straight majority. Still no man overboard. Although I do think mrs May may step down later this week. I would expect a coalition with DUP will be formed later this week. This gives a majority for the Conservatives. They are seen as 'climate deniers', the DUP that is, so have no issue with fracking whatsoever. All in all not the desired outcome of the election, but still everything well in place to continue with Shale development as planned. No reason to assume why not.
Not a great election result for I-gas by any imagination. I can only see this drifting further before until we get a stable majority Conservative Government, and that's not looking likely for a while now.
Bloody great news, not! Expecting the share to take another pounding this morning on news. Lets hope we don't get a labour coalition with some of the other parties, otherwise there goes our fracking out the window.
And there going to fund it by ........... They don't even know themselves It's a joke ! They really showed us last time More of a mess than ever !
Do you really think the labour government would ban fracking ' and there going to give everybody better NHS, better lower tax, more police and pigs might even fly !
Point 3 very relevant. I served in Egypt and a knife in the back was considered Muslim tactical warfare. I am surprised indeed that, albeit terrorists, that the Arabs are now showing that they can come face to face and even kill themselves for their cause. Luckily that also makes them easier to shoot ! I still can't reconcile it to the 30,000 Egyptian soldiers who took off their slippers and left them there in the desert and ran barefoot for home in the first Israel/Egypt war ! Interesting bit here from Shale Gas News http://shalegas.einnews.com/article_detail/384445350/TUcAJU6g1fOurK3L?n=2&code=YC1CP7e0YGHBD4CY
And my fundamental principles in supporting fracking are..(with apologies to Monty Python).... 1. Make a few bob. 2. Sod the environment, the crematorium is the only global warming I need to worry about. 3. Sod the terrorist supporting Arabs. Your gas bill pays their wages.- I'm old enough to remember their anthem, "Stand 10 yards behind your man" 4. Keep my grandchildren warm in Winter when the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine. 5. Stop the industrialisation of the landscape with hideous wind turbines and solar panels. 6. Keep the central heating running. 7. Make a few bob. 8. There is no point eight. Cheers all - support your local fracker.
To think I sold these at 86p. What the bloody hell happened! With all due respect to the chap who said he'd lap my shares up at 86p, I really hope he got out. Now considering diving back in here on a speculative investment at this low sp. it's all a mugs game though!
The fundamental objectives of the anti fracking movement have been to: 1. delay, delay, delay (not one high volume frack in the UK for 6 years, many legal appeals, 6 months delay getting the Conditions agreed for Misson etc etc), 2. cause the industry more cost (all the specialists are losing money, IGas has to pay a £650,000 bond for Misson etc etc), 3. raise awareness, increase public opposition and decrease public support (see the government's frequent Wave Tracker Survey on Energy), 4. get more political parties on board. I think success on all four fronts so far.
But as you say, the second rig will be larger.
Stalling tactic at most, can't see it going anywhere. The only thing that will put the stops on it would be a Labour win, and I cannot see that happening. Let's get fracking.
The Preston New Road Action Group has been granted permission to appeal their case. We are awaiting further information from our legal team as to the timing and venue. " Preston New Rd Action Group are delighted that the Courts have agreed there is validity in our arguments and they have upheld therefore ,our right of Appeal against the decision to allow fracking at PNR Site. We have put forward credible evidence through our legal team indicating why we believe that decision is unlawful and should be overturned. It is important to remember Local democracy has been dismantled and denied in Lancashire ,to allow Cuadrilla and this fossil fuel industry to press ahead. Lancashire said NO loudly and clearly yet locals are being forced to accept the unacceptable from this external Corporate Industry.
The BBC report that a number of Arab countries including Saudi Arabia and Egypt have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing it of backing militant groups including IS. This comes amid heightened tensions between some Gulf countries and Iran. The Saudis accuse Qatar of collaborating with "Iranian-backed terrorist groups". The UK currently gets 15% of its gas supply from Qatar in the form of LNG. So any escalation of geopolitical tension represents a potential risk to winter gas supplies and this diplomatic move may also embolden Trump who wants a pretext to reimpose sanctions on Iran, which would threaten around 4mbd of worldwide crude supplies.
We all know we're in safer hands with conservatives!!
Drill or Drop report that the first drilling rig is on site at Cuadrilla's operation. It is a preparatory rig which installs the wide diameter protective outer casing of the first stage of the drill. After this work has been completed a larger rig moves in to complete the major part of the drill. Photos of the new rig give an idea of it's insignificant size compared to pylons in the background.
Won't be able to buy these at this price next week
If conservatives get fracking of course!!!
liquidated fracking holdings till after election. I can see this going minority conservative.
Well so said the CEO of Shell some time back. It has already near halved the price of petrol over here even though the revolution is still in America : https://seekingalpha.com/article/4077988-opec-save-crude-oil
#Cebo456 : This would definitely rise if the Tories wins but if they don't, then i'm in hot soup.
MTS, I have been buying those every time the price has come down to around 4.5 and will continue to do so. . The only thing holding this back is the possibility that Labour will win the Election which I think is very unlikely. Now I really do not want to get into politics here, but think that this will rise considerably with a Tory Victory.
Totally agree , http://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Oil-Prices-Spike-After-API-Reports-Biggest-Crude-Draw-This-Year.html Buts it not a great time ATM After elections out the way
It's worth remembering IGAS's bread and butter so to speak is conventional oil. API stats tonight show a bigger crude draw than expected, 8 million barrels, which should be reinforced tomorrow by the EIA figures. This, together with news that the Saudis announced they will be targetting reduced exports to the U.S. in the next few months, adds up to the potential for a genuine Brent price climb up to $55 at least. Very interesting article on Oil Price News suggesting OPEC members shot themselves in the foot by upping production last year in anticipation of the first OPEC agreement, meaning the world was awash with reserves when the cuts were made so there was little price increase. Now those reserves are at least partially used up the 9 month supply cut extension should have a more genuine effect.
