Suppose the last section ‘Caveats’ covers the LFP batteries being complimentary with other Nickel based batteries.

Development of nickel-based cathodes with 1-5% cobalt loadings or no cobalt at all are present in the technology roadmaps of most European and North American automakers and their cell suppliers. In any case, LFP should be considered as a complementary or refuge material in addition to high-nickel chemistries. While LFP could power urban and some larger vehicles in the C-D car segments, nickel-based cathode will continue to be the go-to option for most automakers offering driving ranges over 400-500Km or performance vehicles....
A) Or Araguaia ;) will feed the steel market and isnt directly tied to the EV revolution.
B) reading between the lines alot of development has gone/going into the development of reduced cobalt in batteries as ethical issues surrounding the mining and production of it are an ongoing concern. The article although queries the rise in LFP, summarises at the end the complementary role LFP will have alongside nickel cathodes.
It is interesting and gives interesting insight into the EV elephant in the room Chinese produced electric vehicles.
However there was not much about the leader of the pack (battery pack) Tesla who have signed a contract with CATL for LFP batteries to be used in the Chinese built Teslas - CATL state that their LFP battery is ready and available to anyone but it is 10% more expensive.
As far as I am concerned all bets are off until Tesla Battery Investor day now rescheduled for 15th September; no doubt there will be stuff on LFP batteries but I think there will be unveiled a new battery and battery manufacturing technology which will be a larger format Lithium Nickel Aluminium battery with a dry electrolyte with a tabless cathode with very little maybe no Cobalt that will be capable of very rapid charging will have better stability and durability will last in excess of 4000 charge cycles have high energy density AND be cheaper and easier to produce in very high volume. It will almost certainly be the game changer for the auto industry because it will bring the battery cost down to $80 per KWh at which point EV and ICE cars have purchase price parity given that EV running costs are so much lower than ICE vehicles game set and match to Tesla.
LFP batteries does not have the energy density of NMC batteries. You will have this type of battery in relatively short distance vehicles this will lower the price of these vehicles and will be the short commuter type cars ect. I follow this share as I think there will be 2 minerals that will be in 90% of batteries that's lithium(that's in all of them) and Nickle this is the biggest part of batt. But it is all price sensitive by 2030 they will need 2.75terra/watt of supply. These are massive numbers.
