Maestro. As DB said in his presentation UK was never his strategic play. POC should have a massive benefit to NHS but as I have said before. I believe BC will take the lot!
Exciting times ahead
GLA enjoy the ride

The test in USA will be huge.
So not to worry if we dont get much in uk.
Thanks Clark8004
GDR test cost is in line or even cheaper than some lateral flow test(£10per test) This cutting edge genomic company should be flown as a trailblazer flag to showcase UK pharma-tech instead it's taken the US and BC to identify talent over mates rates nepotism. I wonder how many people have died as a result of of poor testing control and false negative or false positive tests! CE marked in a May ffs. UK corruption knows no bounds!! 3 little words from DB to think about over the next few weeks: Transformational, material and significant
@Maestrol it doesn't seem to work like that. The contracts seem to be to provide services, e.g. there's a MAG airport testing one, 24/7/365 walk through, drive through, PCR and others... bla bla it's clearly a contract for a service delivery so while BC could be involved they wouldn't go for it entirely alone, because that's not their business - they don't run test centres (that I know of) Hope that makes sense.
Fly_bird,
i dont think there is any exclusivity between machines and tests but i think the maximum output is a Biomek and GD bead combination. What i cant ascertain is whether or not our assay is price competitive to others in the market. If it is why would you not use it? Its a UK company providing cutting edge tech, its part of the brief to support an develop these companies.

Thanks Solstace,
looks like the Democrats plan is inching forward, if the US starts to ramp up then our output will easily be absorbed in to the total requirement. As for the UK i can see the GD POC system being used heavily as patients are routinely tested as a matter of course to prevent further outbreaks, the amount of places where that technology could be used is also vast.
Did BC and Genedrive bid for pcr tests in uk?
Didnt Budd say they targeting USA...
@djm1
I'm a bit confused about this too. There's obviously scope to have a biomek doing, gdr only, gdr and other work, or no gdr. I'd like to get a bit more nailed down! I'll have to watch DB & Katie and listen carefully when DB talks about plastic consumables. It's public money, we have this info because it's our money - I think a DB statement could clear all this up ;)
The Biomeks still require pipette tips to run the gdr test, but only one set instead of several for other tests
Solstace
I read on here that BC had supplied Biomeks to the government, but these tips etc , these are the things our assay is meant to negate are they not ?
Optimising work flow is a GDR strap line Fly_bird
There is the lighthouse laboratories contract expires to replace too. Link below describes what lighthouse laboratories are. Quote below on automation.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-test-and-trace-how-we-test-your-samples/nhs-test-and-trace-how-we-test-your-samples
Automation and technology
As well as announcing new laboratories that are joining the network, we are investing in new technology to process results faster, we are automating parts of the process and we are installing new machines in the laboratories.
Lighthouse laboratories and partner labs continue to maximise capacity through mobilising additional equipment and optimising workflows. For example, we have mobilised new liquid handling robots.

Great Post Fly_Bird,
I think you have something here,.
Hi Technick,
Can you take a look at Fly_Bird's Post, and Post an opinion please !!!!
Impressive...
...and looks promising
Good research, Fly_bird. This looks very encouraging.
Big weeks coming up!
I was actually wondering if anyone knew more - I'm not an expert and don't know the chances that those products link to a possible GD test.
I'm sorry if this doesn't format very well - it's been difficult to read in this tiny box!!
Hi, I've seen some links to bidstats recently, and that website was new to me.... So I've taken a look around.
I find an interesting supplier of many tenders (I hope this link works):
UK – Scientific Laboratory Supplies Contracts
https://bidstats.uk/tenders/?q=scientific+laboratory+supplies&scope=supplier#746258431-745931097-31
and you can see there, that they delivered some robotic pippet tips (top left)....
and you can open that up.
https://bidstats.uk/tenders/2021/W09/745931097
and you can see at the bottom, you can open up the purchase order.

and on that you can see some ttf-1000-cbk-htr-s (1536 pks of them)
and you can google that code... and you get axygen pippet tips.
https://www.scientificlabs.co.uk/search/DEFAULT/1/beckman?brands=AXYGEN&segments=AJL-6
The codes are not on the website it seems. But if anyone wants to take on that little rabbit hole please feel free.
