Ministry of Transport and Communications has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to all eligible parties interested in conducting commercial flights both within the southern African state and abroad, reports ch-aviation http://www.africanaerospace.aero/mozambique-opens-up-market-to-foreign-carriers.html

Don't you worry, Precision and Fastjet will be of no match to AirTanzania once all the aircraft are delivered. @MariaSTsehai @AirTanzania ----- This is what we are up against with the resurgence of Air Tanzania, Tanzanians are encouraged at every opportunity to use ATCL,I don't see the return of a double daily to Mbeya anytime soon, not even when we have a replacement for A319 FJD , she is running like clockwork, long may it continue
I actually had the same thought, taskmaster. Especially since their routes seem to be entirely domestic and largely southbound. So yes, as you suggest, their operation could increase our Load Factor from Dar Es Salaam to Harare.
Could actually help ? brings more pax into the main hubs to fly onward. We constantly hear there's no middle class but it can't all be foreign tourists. http://zambiabusinesstimes.com/2017/04/03/guess-whose-back-mahogany-air-set-to-fly-zambian-skies-by-mid-year/
.....but then, I don’t suppose fastjet does to them. At the moment.
taskmaster: (Love the pun!) Doesn’t look like TOO much of a threat to me, though.
Mahogany Air (MC, Lusaka) has once more outlined plans to resume commercial passenger operations, nearly three years after they were first suspended. https://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/55547-zambias-mahogany-air-secures-funding-to-resume-ops
Many thanks for that, taskmaster. Certainly a pic worth sharing. [Btw, I hope you took my Sat 12:47 post in the same spirit as yours to which I was replying! The sarcastic tone was not intended, the ‘sad’ face not helping either!]
Thx Taskmaster.
Morning Marksman Unfortunately I don't have your throwaway email anymore which is why I've not been able to send you other snippets in the past
“superb pic” – how tantalising is that! Fjetcrazy, can you take a screenshot of it and, if you still have it, send it full-size to my email address , please?
Sorry no links to superb pic
Spotted earlier today at Victoria Falls airport. @fastjet #CRJ200 currently in service on lease from #SolentaAviation . #partnership #LCC
Really seem to have the wrong size aircraft operating in both countries The E 90 is better suited to Tanzania not as difficult to fill and would allow us to operate more rotations The E50 far too small for Zimbabwe again a E90 would be much better
99% FULL over next six days, one seat available at mouthwatering $800 one way. HRE JNB almost as full DAR Mbeya wide open even with one flight a day.as is JRO Mwanza FULL down to fact we only have two flights a day TANZANIA 🇹🇿 struggling IMHO , ATCL impacting on our business, perhaps Nico took this further drastic action because he had no choice
You’re welcome, taskmaster. You obviously get out a lot more than I do, since you took about 23 hours to reply to mine while I replied to yours within as many minutes!! :-( As for your more serious comment re the “new team”, we can only hope. But I feel the consensus of opinion here is probably similar to mine as expressed in my reply to PJMInvest at 20:15 on Thursday.
Thanks for the award Marksman. Reduced to plane spotting....I must get out more ! Rainbow making a go of it I see, VFA is busy these days ! https://www.rainbowairlines.co.zw/en/Flight-Schedule/Flight-Schedule .......Wonder if the new team, given their local knowledge will carve out a presence on SA routes where the pax are more stable ? http://www.travelandtourworld.com/news/article/zimbabwe-tourism-council-optimistic-of-tourism-boost-post-kenya-airways-service-to-victoria-falls/
Apologies to you, Fjetcrazy. Temporary memory-blip of the excellent pic you posted about three weeks ago. Same aircraft but just very different views, with yours of it airborne. So, a nice contrasting pair to have.
Super research result, taskmaster, thank you. Great to be able to see our leased 145 and in full livery at last. “Post of the Week”!!
"Of course you are also so right that we shareholders should not be so left in the dark and are surely entitled to be more informed as to "what is happening". As private investors, we are unfairly left out of the loop." Are you guys really that naïve that you expect FJET to keep notifying you, by RNS, of their every move and plans to keep solvent? 'Private Investors' are quite rightly kept completely out of the loop until there is some NEWS to release by RNS, why risk losing any 'first mover advantage' by keeping you in the loop with their every move. Most Companies treat their PI's with disdain, it's perfectly normal behaviour........................
I share your concerns, PJMInvest, but "keep the faith!" I see a connection between your hopes and fears in your post: the very fact we now have a "big and high calibre team" not only ensures, by definition, that "plans are well advanced" but will have been formulated by an experienced and knowledgeable crew. Of course you are also so right that we shareholders should not be so left in the dark and are surely entitled to be more informed as to "what is happening". As private investors, we are unfairly left out of the loop.
