Regardless of how (or not) EVE is doing its great we can all share are likes and dislikes and bounce ideas around - hopefully EVE occasionally monitors this BB and takes note of shareholders genuine concerns and ideas.
I agree that share buy back does help the SP. Indivior PLC embarked on a share buy back and their SP went from ~100p to ~240p.
But perhaps it will be better to embark on this once we reach sustainable profitability next year. For now, I am happy with director buys.
buy-back :)
They've made a 'pitch' for a campaign that satisfies the 'diversity' brief of the competition so the money enables that particular pitch to go into action, so defo planned campaign - in theory. Whether they would have made THAT campaign without the competition, only CC must know.
I have to say that share bye-back doesn't appeal to me personally.
It makes sense to advertise especially at 1/2 price but only if the plan was to advertise anyway? Very clever award by C4 to ensure they get advertising revenues and as EVE not really in a position now to spend another 1 million on advertising right now it’s not surprising they did not win the top prize of a potential liability of a 1 million pound spend.
But if the advertising was not pre planned I would rather £250000 used to assist shareholders such as share buyback that just to spend another £250000 on unplanned but deemed cheap advertising!
Personally I'd rather have a smaller % in an investing and growing company which will grow, rather than a bigger % in a company that's static, but I'm no expert. And (as wyn said) if 'they' take it private we get 3p or 4p per share and they get to keep eve for themselves, just before it does well. I don't want to be bought out for a loss.
I think the channel 4 thing is quite important. We know we sell more product the more we advertise. Our revenue should grow because of this 'runner up' position, if we spend the prize.
I don't think there's been a tweet about it, yet. Maybe CC is only ever going to tweet a 'win'; she's pretty competitive by her own description.
Maybe the £250000 if going spent now may be better spent by buying back £250000 of EVE shares if they can get them at these current prices.
That way all current shareholders would benefit by having a larger percentage holding!
'It also found that age representation differed between genders. Male characters are more likely to be older, while women are younger and often used for brand building. Older women meanwhile feel they are more likely to be portrayed in a stereotypical way.'
– Might explain why girls are no longer on the eve website.
Assuming eve take advantage of the prize I guess we can expect a new campaign on channel 4 (and elsewhere) in early 2022. And we have to pay only 50% of the cost of airing on C4. Gotta be good.

'Channel 4 & 4Sales today revealed TENA and creative agency AMV BDDO as the winning campaign of its prestigious Diversity in Advertising Award 2021.'
'Eve Sleep & Creature London were highly commended by the judges..'
'Eve Sleep & Creature London were highly commended by the judges and the other runners up included: Hidden Hearing (The Sharp Agency); Baileys (VMLY&R); Shelter (Who Wot Why); and Boots (VMLY&R). All five runners-up will be offered match funding of up to £250,000 each to encourage all the pitched campaigns to be produced.'
So it was a pitch for a new campaign?
It'll be handy to have matched funding.
