Cool, that's interesting, thanks for the detailed explanation.
All the best
Then I bow to your superior knowledge on the subject.
I was a MM Newuncle. I get how they work.
That is not how it works frankly, as there are multiple systems available to post prices and trade.
1) SETS is The London Stock Exchange system and that is what the LSE use to denote a buy, sell or unknown.
SETS can be either - a) order driven where the MM's make two way prices and are obliged to trade at the execution management size (EMS) - or b) price driven where MM's and brokers can place bids and offers - generally much keener pricing
2) RSP is where most retail order flow is traded and has keener pricing as MM's are not obligated to trade a certain size
3) Crossing - There are now 35 plus crossing networks that take substantial flow from the first two systems and pools like Posit, Turquoise (owned by the LSE) and Liquidnet trade significant amounts and have no obligation to report to the LSE
4) Dual listing like Aquis - which has less liquidity, less MM's and wider spreads
5) Dual listing overseas - like US OTC or NASDAQ or a German listing as examples
I would argue when we look at the trades on ADVFN or LSE (this system) we are often only seeing a snapshot of the day's trading.
Actually MMs set the spread which the systems use to judge if a trade was a buy or sell so by having a wide spread and doing trades within it they do have a mechanism that works to their advantage.
Newuncle, you do understand that MM's do not book any trades to look like sells or buys. They simple report them to The London Stock Exchange as is there obligation.
It is the LSE that attaches a buy or sell flag - simply based on which side of the mid price the execution took place at the time the LSE receive it.
All good then Paulthe4th........... :)
Phil got mugged by Sky news then..........?
All the best (oh dear, never nice to see.......... :()
Stu
I suspect Mr Booth was making a general comment about data (maybe not even aware of MWG) and subsequent regulations of individuals data. As he said mass monitoring and surveillance of society for human beings is relatively new and rules and regulations to protect that data should be looked at obviously under the umbrella of civil liberties. Sky News are also very good at offering both sides of a story.
With regards to an individuals drug use (and night club entry), this (until legalisation in the UK) would probably follow the same route as the Novak Djokovic/Australian Border incident.
1 - You can only enter the country if you are vaccinated and can prove it
2 - I am not vaccinated, can I enter your country please
3 - At our discretion we say no.
4- Debate - Are the Australian government legally able to impose those restrictions/conditions - I guess so
There is no 'big brother' effect (IMHO) here just personal responsibility matched with conditions of entry by establishments/countries.
Society is entering into a new 'daily testing for health/lifestyle era' whether folks like it or not, Deepverge are at the forefront of this revolution!!
Modern Water facilitate the testing, give accurate results in a timely manner and allow the authorities (Border control/Hospitals/Nightclubs/Cruise ships/Care homes to make informed decisions
Once the general public see that the positives far outweigh the negatives and that the testing process is in place to protect their health and freedom of movement they will be on board.
I can imagine Sundays Sky News Modern Water/Deepverge article and the implications has caused a lot of waves amongst the public and I suspect a lot of interest from governments, local governments and water authorities (If they were not already aware)
All IMHO

Copy that NU........
The SING move, behind the scenes certainly kicked of some volume.......!
Gave PEEL some competition on the Ask, and whoever took dem 100k shares will want some profit.......!
All the best (proper, albeit it slow, game of chess on the Book....... :()
Chesh,
For me the 100k trade was sell. MMs have been reporting sell trades like those for a few days now to look like buys, I guess they don't want to see another panic sell off so soon after the last one?
Phil,
Was interviewed after the DVRG piece was filmed. He's just out to grab a headline as he clearly didn't understand the concept of site testing a location that could have many thousands attending. Any monitoring that picked up illicit drugs in the waste would be for the site owners concern not any individuals attending so there are no privacy issues for people but it gave Sky a another spin to run the story with I guess. It's a pity they didn't get into the sewage monitoring side for the cleaning up of the rivers and environment as we know Microtox PD is much more than a simple Covid 19 monitor. Maybe next time eh?
trillsg described it to me as a "headline grabber".......!
it's plainly obvs that individual aren't be tested, but the group/community is......!
Phil Booth needs to worry about MicrotoxBT not PD............:()
All the best (..........and it's coming....... :()
That was their angle desoc but Gerry was very quick to highlight the encryption and security of the data (as he has highlighted all along). Friends of mine who have no knowledge of DeepVerge, (I think they ignore my enthusiastic ramblings) were intrigued by the science and not to perturbed by the data security side. Finger in the air test of public reaction but perceived to be extremely positive.
Thoughts on this last trade NU........?
18-Jan-22 10:21:25 26.00 100,000 Buy* 25.00 26.50 26.00k O
SING moved over to join PEEL on the Ask just prior to the trade, I feel it's a buy from PEEL who appear to like to control the Book, and don't like competition..........!
Or ... one of the other x4 MM's on the Bid @25p reckon they can shift 100k at a profit......?
All the best (got me that one.........! :()
I found the Sky feature a bit odd. It was pitched under a surveillance tag. It was almost as if the reporter wanted to make it Big Brother feature about what was coming out of our bottoms etc. The police might be able to highlight concentrations of cocaine and etc. use. Oh dear. I’m very worried. Mind you our MP’s might be a bit concerned.
Moaning Chesh,
Very narrow spread today 26-26.34 almost rizzla fag paper width
Quote on the Bid 26p........!
shocking that the advertised Bid is 25p......... :()
All the best (shenanigans....... :)
