North of £1.00 in the next few weeks. Obvious.
Both Car Phone and Halfords look really good bets at the moment.
All IMHO.
On the bright side Mobile part of the business makes a loss for DIxons carphone so cutting out a bad deal with EE is preferable to having it.
I’d rather have Less options so fewer sales at a profit than lots of sales at a Loss. Fingers crossed Maybe next end of year trading statement will show mobile breaking even or even green!
I’d say the strength of this weeks update and the already known closure of the standalone stores would net this out. Simple fact now is Dixon’s is now broadly been measured as a single Currys brand again, and on those terms is good value. I’d hold for now and see where it goes. I came in at 78 with a small volume with the view of £1.00 in 2 years.
Big time - DCP has no credible mobile proposition with only 1 MNO on board
Not renewing contract to supply DC with mobile comms after 20 years, may affect SP mondaymorning?
Up 7% today and it's almost certain the sp will be rising fast in the coming weeks.
*********BRILLIANT*************.
All IMHO.
Most important, in my view, is the ability of the company to adapt to new market conditions and changing customer shopping trends. The trebbling of online says a lot on this point though it would be interesting to see any comparison vs. peers. However, only reference to profits was with respect to the Nordics business and they highlighted the current uncertainty which of course it is hardly a surprise. Overall, computer says "yes" on the business.
Sales are going through the roof and IPO for a great Nordics business is on the cards + we are cashflow positive so I think back 120p is entirely possible. Travel Dixons will come back as airports reopen!
Now it seems to be dropping. Wonder if the one hit wonders have been selling off as it hit 96p, as it was over in June
Some good movement again today. These should go over £1 by end of next week.
Could be strong results from Best Buy in the states, similar business. They have some interesting ideas about basically turning many of their stores into internet hubs.
What was driving that?
Holding well on a difficult day, nice to see, should give some confidence of future growth of i'd say another 5-8p in the coming weeks as more is known about the benefits of the cost cutting programme to lower the cost base

I agree with much of what you say but it does not get over the huge cost of having such a large estate when so much is moving online. If stores are basically being used as a collection points there are many vastly cheaper ways of doing this using third parties.
Dixons Carphone is positioning itself as an online now with an increased focus on online, i feel the stores are almost second fiddle now and treated as an addition to the online service.
Having stores can benefit, have you tried the same day pickup service? you purchase an item of stock online it directs you to nearest store, you pull up in a highlighted space outside the shop, scan a QR code and they put item in your boot with zero contact (or bring it to you if your walking).
If item isn't in you do the same but its delivered to a store next day for free, once kids go back to school this will be much needed as we are not all sat at home for when parcels arrive but we all have a local Currys pcworld we can nip too, even better if we just pick up parcel outside.
All the guys/gals in shop walk around with iPad in little bags around waist if an item isn't stocked they order it for you in store and from what they said the sale is credited to that sales colleague for bonus/targets.
AO report sales continue to be strong despite stores opening and represents a " structural shift in demand where customers have found a better way to shop the electricals category".You could say they would say this but the sales moving online have to be coming from somewhere.
Only 5p from that June 8th spike! Onwards and upwards!
strong point is a fantastic WEB site. Also when you buy in store often you need to go on line if the goods are out of stock when you order. Annoying, yes, but this has been making people use the website to find out when delivery is coming or whatever. I often look at PCWorlds WEB site for bargains. Same with Halfords. In fact Amazon, PCWorld and Halfords I think are the 3 I visit the most for bargains. Buying shoes and clothes on line is something I never do. I need to try them and fell them, inspect for faults etc.....
All IMHO.
.
These are in trouble they have lost 3700 jobs this year. They have way to many physical stores in a market that is rapidly moving online ,their customer service ratings are poor and massively below AO, mobile is haemorrhaging money and their websites look dated. This bounce will be very short lived imo.
so hope the same goes for the other branches. Certainly a long way back. Were £1.20 ish back in March!#
Currently 79p. Have a look at halfords as bikes selling like hot cakes with creme on top.
With the share price sitting in the 70's, does the fact that members of the board last bought shares in the company back in June 2019 indicate a lack of belief in the future for this business. Surely, a strong gesture of faith in the plans for the future would be the purchase of shares at the current low valuation?
This Board and Management team have no ideas for this business. Their online proposition is poor, supply chain a mess, IT infrastructure at breaking point, and all they continue to do is cut away at the one strength they have over Amazon, AO, and the like;- their stores. AO made £1.5M, yet the share price is closing in on a 5 year high. Best Buy, a true omni-channel operator, has a share price sitting on an all-time high. At Dixons Carphone, the mess this team has made with mobile is being further compounded by the ineptitude of their approach to Technology and Electrical.
Surely, it is now time for the Chairman to take a good, hard look at his performance and that of his Management team. They appear lost, and the market appears to have no faith in them.
Rumour has it that restructuring plans are afoot - expensive store directors and some team leaders maybe at risk of redundancy- the proposals will likely be out atc4pm
