Rumour has it that announcement will be coming in next week or so that Dixons travel business is being closed down.
Embarrassing to say the least for a PC retailer. You would think they had time to test their systems they knew demand would be huge.Yet more bad publicity on a day they should have been all over the press in a positive way.Just as well trade appears to be strong!

I suspect trade has been strong again during lockdown hence the rise.
However.
Need to sort their customer service issues out getting pasted all over social media, the press and trustpilot.

10 Sept trading update they said this:-
· Exploring listing a minority stake of our Nordics business
Plus the trading upgate seemed good.
Their WEB site is also briging in loads of orders.
Plus they have closed down loads of the Car phone Warehouse outlets noy they have a load in store.
All sorts of reasons!
All IMHO.
Emerald Carrots - congratulations on that. Be interesting to know what your investment case is here other than the government app which tbh is only going to have a small impact .
so I am not complaining. LOL!
2reincarnated.
I suspect you don't have a clue do you?
Expect a good pasting in the hext few weeks, can see 50p soon.
It's 1:46 Sunday and available laptops is up from 129 to 137.
With work from home instruction from Boris we will see how the laptop stock levels work out.
I would have thought they will drop as demand must surely increase.
We will see.
All IMHO.

So over half of original stock not available.
Will be interesting to see what happens with these numbers over the next few days.
I think they will dive.
All IMHO.
Looks like this new lockdown rumour has got businesses racing to get people on line at home.
Pc World well placed to make a killing IMHO.

Emerald you've been spot on all the way ! well done : )
But heres a question.. AO are now worth over 30% more than Dixons, could we be looking at a Takeover ?
.
I suspect that even £1.20 is now a bit conservative. I have bought quite a few products from Curry's in the last few weeks. I had a new cooker delivered to one of my businesses last Sunday. I got on the chat with the delivery guys who dropped it off - one if them said in the 12 years he has been with the company, , he has never been busier. He said they are going flat out and have been since the beginning of July. I know that CW is under a bit of pressure, but the rest of the business seems to be doing very well
ATB
DL
although it's the Government app that is pushing this up IMHO, plus the last trading statement.
All IMHO.
Correction. I think MOT's deferred from 1st April have to be done 1st OCT, not Sept. Anyone concur?
----------------------
good trading update a few weeks back still pushing the sp higher (as I posted when it was more like 86p.
Now £1.04. My 2 retail are Halfords and this. Up here about 30%, Halfords more like 50. Halfords had/are still having huge bike sales and now all those mot that had a holiday started to become due (as of 1st Oct) the MOT garages must have bookings days in advance, if not more than a week. mark my words, IMHO halfords sp is going A LOT higher, same as DC.

I'ts huge hastle if you want to send back any product from an on-line store, re-packaging and what.... days if not a week or more before you get a replacement.
If you buy in store from PcWorld and there is an issue you take back and they usually swap for another one why you are there. A few years back I bought a laptop from PcWorls. The LAN lead socket did not work. I took it back same day ans they tested it, confirmed the issue (in 10 mins), then gave me another one. Why I steer clear of buying pc's on line. In fact pc's, shoes, clothes, bedding, furniture etc..... Massive hastel if what is delivered has an issue. MASSIVE.
All IMHO.
Intersting to compare EBIDA level returns across each business over the past 3 years.
The AO team has just signed up to take space in a small number of Tesco stores, taking space previously used by DC.
Be interesting to see how that goes.
A bit of both . Dc has physical stores with rents to pay whereas AO doesn’t.
Dixons turnover is 10 times more. Either Dixons is hugely undervalued or AO is massively overvalued...
Interesting.. AO now valued more than Dixons Carphone.
AO market cap - £1.43 billion
DC market cap - £1.18 billion
Very nice to see a decent increase in the SP over recent days. Hopefully this upward trend will be sustained
