Looking a bit better spottedlurcher
Steady Eddie here as usual :-)
ex divi day!
All good spottedlurcher, thanks for asking. I hope all well with you too. Lost a few bob over the last few weeks on paper, but still doggedly building my portfolio. BRCI, BRFI, CTY, SOI, BRWM for the Investment Trusts and a good balanced smattering of Mutual Funds from Jupiter and Invesco with focus on high income British and European markets. Have a prosperous 2016!
me too Runner! I add here every month plus almost divi time again! Hope your well and Happy New Year! atb
I'm taking a punt in here today(top up) in the expectation that we may be bottoming out.
This one has done very well, and outperformed the ftse. FTSE down 5% for 2015, and not sure to put the money as the world has lost capitalism, and we now have bankism for now and the years ahead. I have these on my watchlist to buy 2 or 3 of these and top_up MYI (PLI, CTY, MYI, AAIF, STS & BRCI). The question is; Will oil prices continue this dreaded rout and cause another global recession for 2016? What iv been thinking, maybe it couldv been better had the economies not reduced there interest rates to near 0%, thus giving us another tool to play with ( coz that's all there doing )! 2016, Might see the rise of gold to levels not seen since 2011, also we may see $1-£1 in 2016? Salmond for one would certainly have egg on his face if Scotland had become independant in 2014... Happy New Year all...
Hi Runner, You have any interest in any other IT's like this like STSbor MYI? I made 290% in 3 stocks and reinvesting in IT's maybe new one's or top-ups...
Views... I hold an assortment of Funds and trusts, over the longer term I read somewhere that IT outperform funds. Is this largely true, or a load of baloney!! Lol. Iv held 3 trusts and over 15yrs+ theyv gained each around 200-240%. Iv got many funds, CTY, MYI(to add more), CLIG and STS on my watch list I like look of from Top150 report from HL: M&G Global Dividends Newton Real Return First State Global Listed Infrastructure Inc HSBC American Index Artemis Strategic Bond Artemis High Income Or should load up on CTY, MYI, STS or CLIG on the next big dip that is not far away with rising US rates. I can afford to take risk, have £10-15k to use and taking a longterm view (10yrs). Its not just income I'm dering from these funds/IT, but growth, and dividends that are safe, so 4.25% is a sensible level to watch Thanks for anyviews at all. I hold MUT, MYI, FRCL, TEM, Threadneedle Global Income Eq, Newton Global Income, ALAI, and EWI
Another question for anyone. This has a gearing of 11 as of 29/11/15. Where do you draw the top and bottom for buying IT's based on gearing? I own MUT, MYI(17y, ALAI(18), STS(8), TEM, EWI. Thanks
...Just observation here. How much do you generally pay for a premium trust fund? In past iv paid 4% over, then it goes belly up when bad times approach. The NAV is 1.6%+
Another 10k stg buy in CTY for me today
I agree Runner, one of our stars performers! lol U buy back into petra?
407p already. Onwards and upward. You little beauty!
Yeah :-) back to 410p now ..
Happy ex divi day! ATB
Hi Spottedlurcher, hope you're well. Still no crash! Still in but not buying at these prices.
Greetings runner , I agree CTY . EDIN and Guinness global and Artemis European income have been my best performers , I too am out of Petra, sold on the ties along with gem , sorry to hear about your losses, I had the same with Cup , now csi , which I am still in with a heavy loss , waiting fir them to buy something , anything at this point! along with Arms! Petra and SGP look like it may be time again to have a dip , just waiting and watching, have you looked at nipt? Looks interesting . I adore beagles , used to have 7 dogs and before that a lovely beagle , such amazing dogs but they do have selective hearing! Haha happy you have someone to go with you on your runs , always makes it more fun having a four footed friend with you! Atb and hope we make up our losses ,I do worry that CTY and the others are at all time highs now and I hear rumours of a crash in the future but I am styling here and enjoying the ride ! Lol
Greetings spottedlurcher! No longer in Petra - I bought at 159p and sold at 189p a while back. That's about where it is now, but now they've announced a dividend may be it's a buy again soon for me though to be honest I'm wary now - I have just been shafted at BAO and lost a lot of money, and lost a lot on Angel Mining 2 years ago which 'm still particularly sore about. I know that PDL isn't AIM, but overall I'm feeling more comfortable with the Investment Trusts like CTY, SOI, AAS etc. Still running around the countryside - with our new dog - a Beagle - a perfect running companion though she does get distracted by all the smells but she catches up with me again eventually (she runs off the lead). Happy Days. Share tips? I wish I knew myself.
Greetings runner! Yes these shares along with EDIN an Guinness have been some of my best performers , unlike CSI haha the former cupid! You still in Petra? Hope ur well and still running around the countryside! Now giv m. Good shard tip , I need one! Haha atb
Yes fantastic - that has been a glass ceiling for quite a while! CTY still my favourite stock.
To see 400 at last !
This and Guinness global income and Edin have been brilliant this year , wish I could say the same for CSI !
I mean Gareth! No idea why I wrote Barry - I must be going senile.
Kiss of death that Barry!
