Coronavirus: England's contact-tracing app readies for launch https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-53678508
This is us boom tomortow 25p minimum at least get in lol of is ig 2p soon lol
I’ve just been looking at the website of Catenae Innovation and come across their HospitalityID App.
https://catenaeinnovation.com/news/helping-the-hospitality-industry-safely-securely-welcome-customers-back/
I was going to post even before see this, but if you read them both they interlink perfectly!
if the is CTEA embedded tech then the SP will rocket, looking at very high rate given the population and usage of UK
reading through the HospitalityID App. considering that the gov is driving people to spend and hotels and restaurants have limited capacity at the moment can imagine this being of massive use
https://catenaeinnovation.com/news/helping-the-hospitality-industry-safely-securely-welcome-customers-back/
I thought it was announced last month they are going the Google/ Apple route. If any ctea involvement I would have thought an update by now if the gov are talking about releasing it soon.
Be nice to see them using uk tech, but like a lot of big projects if the project managers get the top dogs involved ( google, apple etc ) then if it goes wrong they can side step some of the blame. After already one failed app release they would be taking a big chance on using a smaller company..even if the tech was better.
Agree Claire. The market is there and the product is good enough it seems. Just needs take up. Consortium will have access to plenty of clients and once it’s proven to be work and be useful then it could snowball.

"They are then given a unique customer reference, displayed as a QR code on their app when entering any premise, which the staff simply scans. The app works as a standalone product or it can be seamlessly integrated into any apps businesses already have."
and what the government has said: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/developing-nhs-test-and-trace-business-plan/breaking-chains-of-covid-19-transmission-to-help-people-return-to-more-normal-lives-developing-the-nhs-test-and-trace-service
"We are committed to ensuring the highest standards of data privacy and data security. The app is built using the Google/Apple application programming interface (API) and a Quick Response (QR) code system, both of which are based on a decentralised model where the government does not have access to citizen data."
Hope you're right Claire! I'd been wondering if you'd sold up shop and moved on. Good to see you kept the faith!
I expect Catenae wouldn't be able to say anything and the news would be embargoed until the government announce it. So if this is true I'm not surprised they haven't made an announcement. If this is us we will go off the scale today. We'd then drop some until they proved it's effectiveness wherever they go on to run the pilot that's mentioned, then if successful this could be life changing for some of us! Roll on good news at 7am!
I don't think CTEA's app uses any of the Google/Apple Covid API's. It predates that. The principle is similar though.
I understand that contracts and deals take time, but this app is needed and if like Guy said is ready to release surely something would have come of it by now
Think the silence from BOD is not doing us any favours and tumble weed share price and PI interest is being lost ....
5 weeks now ...they have something to deliver to the market ????
I think we all need some Zengha confidence uplift
Current SP - For a company that used to issue an RNS every week , this silence is damning, glad I sold when I did and bought a smaller amount back at 5p.
Trials in Botswana, Newcastle and now a months delay don`t look good and would be surprised if there`s any good news here. (Would be pleased if there is but now looks pretty unlikely.)
Surely there is a fair chance that Catenae’s technology is being used in the government’s new app - the hospitalityID features sound identical. Should know more once the government properly announce it.
Big lad you’re v negative mate. Surely you can only judge a company as little as CTEA based on their RNSs and developments or failures shared. Just because it’s quiet and based on literally no RNS you have written them off?
Do you think COVID is going away? We’ve just had a local council update saying we can’t have any spectators at my weekend cricket match. Madness. But very real.
What’s 5 weeks in a pandemic that is not ending any time soon?
I've added this morning, the continual hints towards the hospitality sector from Guy are indicative of their next announcement in my opinion
https://www.standard.co.uk/tech/england-contact-tracing-app-new-apple-google-a4518956.html
Interesting little snippet in the article about team working on delivering medical results as well which I dont recall on the gov website.
no mention or hints regarding ctea
All will be found out when the gov release it and who is behind it !!!
Fingers and toes crossed CTEA has there ginger in the pie - GLA
wouldn't ctea have to announce it first via RNS ?
I imagine the government would announce it outside of trading hours and then CTEA would RNS is the next day
Not really sure how it gets launched and in what order ...
But for sure if we do get a RNS for involvement then we will get blast off at long last with over 5 weeks without news !!!
Would imagine a very leaky ship if gov involvement.
After initial launches, delays and setbacks, a new version of England’s coronavirus contact tracing app could be up and running in the next few days.
The initial test-and-trace app was first tested in the Isle of Wight earlier this year but was beset by technical issues which meant it wasn’t ready for a nationwide launch on May 28.
Part of this was down to the fact the app worked on a centralised model, which would give the UK government information on who came into contact with whom and where. In addition, this centralised model wasn’t using the Apple-Google API, established by the two tech giants to allow their respective phone software to work in tandem with one another — without this tech, it would be harder for an iPhone and an Android phone to record that they had been in close proximity with one another which would affect the efficiency of the model.
