CRC :- What exactly is a penny stock ? My interpretation is that a penny stock is a stock that is trading under a penny. At the moment the Buy price is bang on £1 ... the SP though is 98.5p and the sell price is 97p. Do all the prices have to be £1 or higher before it can no longer considered as a penny stock ? I hope you haven't put a jinx on it Ged LOL It seems to be going very well though and Good Luck to all holders of CRC shares - wish i was one of them :-)
CRC. As predicted, this former penny stock breaks free penny status and will now longer be researched by me, can you cleverer people who trade in £+ stocks CFDs etc keep up appearances!
CRC - if i have read it correctly, production at their admittedly exciting project will not start for another year ..... i therefore wonder how much of the interest and excitement is based primarily on the current exceptionally high commodity prices ..... the apparent spread of 6.5p is also quite hefty ..... nevertheless certainly worth watching
CRC. Consistent buying and rising copper prices has pushed this stock out of penny range. Has had a good run, but more to come judging by volumes bought recently.
CRC. With recent negative commodities sentiment put aside. Buyers of the shares in this Copper outfit have benefitted well today.
CRC. Did you see that one about £10 by the end of the year?
CRC. I will look in on the other chat rooms. If there is positive sentiment out there, then this and other commodity shares should perform well from the insatiable demand from developing countries. The retailers are having a tough time of it because their margins are being squeezed.
Hi Ged. Been following your posts, looks very promising, have you seen the opinions on other BB's? very very positive...have a look on fool and sharecrazy.com, let me know what you think?
CRC. Buying at 56p was a little bit more than expected. But hey ho, the rewards will be worth the wait in the long term. Research tells me that the Copper recovery prospects look lucrative. But as everyone says DYOR. But those that followed my postings back in Oct, sell half your stock now and lock in profits, run the rest. Use profits to buy in on other lucrative undervalued plays posted here recently.
CRC. This sleeper came good. but i still think this play has got some more upside. The commodity market still bouyant with copper prices holding their own. This Co cannot get enough of the stuff to market, new seams being prospected.
CRC. An interesting RNS out today for those who are interested in commodity plays. This has been a good riser lately for those early birds who bought in some while back.
CRC. Whilst copper prices keep braking all time highs thanks to the likes of an insatiable appetite for TVs mobiles air conditioning motor cars and the boom in world wide building industry, and the likes of the chinese sucking all of the above, spare a thought for the beleagured copper retailers, soaring costs are putting a squeeze on profit margins at the likes of Volex, Wolsey AFC et al.
CRC. Analysis correct at time of going to press. Best to be proactive than reactive I always say. My message is always to trade on market sentiment. Concur that buying opportunity will present itself in other trading sessions. Let the enthusiasm fade away, come back later with more funds.
CRC was that clucking or c*ck-sure 12.39er!Well done!
Or at least that is how I currently read commodity prices ...... or read them from the press! I fully agree that a correction is now overdue, but over the medium/longer term, I think that gold, platinum and copper are all likely to rise ...... Picking one's timing is, as always, the most difficult problem.
CRC. Whilst everyone was clucking around preoccupied with a rogue trader sending lairy lag Countries into a tailspin, others were garadually mopping up in its wake. There are those (the media) that panic and write about alleged scandal, there are those that try to minimise the damage, there are those that try to correct, and there are those that profit in its wake. Buying was the order since early Oct, now take handsome profits.
CRC. Like most alleged scandals. Storm in a t cup, contained, controlled and then recovery. From a buying position of 37p to current 48p a good runner so far. Judging buy buying any recent market scaremongering appears to have been shrugged off. Buy for longer term growth.
CRC. Thanks but no thank you.
GedW ... If you want to stay in touch easier, use ranciduk@aol.com .... I will then direct you to my office e-mail
CRC. GedW - I followed this story when it came out. Here are some newspaper snippets: HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Nov. 24 -- China on Thursday acknowledged that a since-detained government trader placed a series of disastrous bets on the price of copper in London this summer, leaving the state to cover hundreds of millions of dollars in losses Liu Qibing, working for the National Control Center of the State Reserve Board -- a central government body that stockpiles commodities for the country's industrialization -- shorted copper on the London futures exchange, meaning that he bet that prices would fall. "But prices kept rising, exposing the government to losses of hundreds of millions of dollars," the report noted. In recent days, China has been selling large volumes of copper in a bid to drive prices down to contain the scale of the losses. I don't know if the losses have now been covered but I notice that CRC hit its low around the time of this report - late November - and has recovered since.
CRC. Say that in terms I can understand. Do we have a Nick Leeson scenario. Perhaps as as up to speed as you are you could do it for me, you are coming from an advantaged position!
GedW ..... Copper may well be a good bet for this year, though the whole ;icture has been skewed by the rogue dealer acting for the Chinese Govt. I think he was heavily short and all the commodity dealers knew it. There was then a concerted and very successful squeeze. I recommend that you check whether or not this position has now unwound as the metal price must surely affect relevant share prices.
CRC. This is a bit of a "sleeper". A bit of a dark horse. With rapidly expanding demand for copper here and in the Orient. Has much going for it. All other FTSE listed copper producers reporting strong demand, this co will hang on to the coat tails for the ride. I am somwhere down the line. For the mo enjoying the adrenalin rush. Who else is on board this one?
CRC. With news that copper prices have risen to new highs at £4,300 a ton. Short traders have been caught on the hop. Tuck this one away for capital growth.
CRC. Announced earlier today. Forrest Nominees hold 1.051M of ISC or 3.77% of voting shares.
