yes so would i due to the disclosures in 8.5's of the price paid it's got to be enough of a carrot.
I have quietly bought three tranches of COS over the past week or so in anticipation of a modest bid. What was previously a disadvantage that COS was a very small company with illiquid trading might now be a bonus because the few of us that follow it can buy it cheaply. I would expect a bid north of 3p.
looks like things are moving along
Sold too early dammit.
some nice buys coming through
I can't see why they would sell out for less than they bought shares for a few months ago and having worked years in the business to get it where it is.
A few delays of a few months, versus they had £5m cash 6 months ago, so should still have £3-4m, enough to last a year or so. They have a great portfolio of contract clients and emerging products. I can only see a complete sale at a premium to the last placing price.
Or trying to let a few get out with some money.....
What makes you think 3p based the RNS info?
MMs short of shares.
Would not be surprised to see a sp drop tomorrow after the initial excitement wears off.
Personally, I would see that as a buying opportunity as I expect a solid offer to materialise for COS in the next few weeks.
it's the possible sale that is interesting.
Top of the leader board. Preliminary year-end revenue next week. Also in discussions with potential buyers over a takeover of the firm.
Need the sellers to clear out. The company expects to provide a trading update with preliminary year-end revenue next week.
Hi Bobat. How do you get 3p here? Not an expert on this one so keen to understand. Had a look at the March RNS and it wasn’t pretty. The last annual review also revealed a large drop in cash balances, so putting the two things together I am wondering whether they are up against it and have had a low-ball offer because someone has clocked they may need to sell. Opening up to others might just be in the hope of other offers and a pricing war....not sure, but would welcome thoughts from someone more familiar with the share.
Looking good. buys coming in now. Hold for gains
most thing i've read in the news today is about the need for more ppe whether i've been looking for the story or not but won't sell now anyway until the offers have been formally received
Looking good. Many bids on offer. Am looking at minimum 3plus on offer or more. DYOR
"The company confirms that, at the time of this announcement, it is in discussions with a number of parties regarding a potential sale of the company."
bid or bids which is where it could get more interesting
Just bought back in 50,000 at 1.6p and figure an offer of around 3p. Last year when I held COS and commented here I was optimistic that director buying at 5p some time back was a good sign but in light of where we are I doubt the bid will be that high. A good little company but needs to be part of a larger enterprise and this looks like why a bid is on the way.
Glasgow-based biotech business Collagen Solutions is in talks with potential buyers over a takeover of the firm.
The AIM-listed company confirmed today it has enlisted England & Company and Goodbody Stockbrokers to assess the options and invited potential buyers to contact them by 5pm on 15 May.
Collagen Solutions makes and supplies engineered animal tissue for use in medical research and treatments including sports medicine, skin grafts, heart operations and plastic surgery.
In a statement today it said: "The Company announces that following the receipt of interest in the company, it has decided to conduct a formal review of the various strategic options available to the company to maximise value for shareholders
"These options include, but are not limited to, the potential sale of the company or the sale of one or more of the company's assets. To facilitate discussions with interested parties the company announces the commencement of a formal sale process as set out by The Takeover Code."
It added: "The company confirms that, at the time of this announcement, it is in discussions with a number of parties regarding a potential sale of the company."
Collagen Solutions was formed as a spin-out from Devro, the Lanarkshire-based international manufacturer of collagen-based edible skins for the food industry.
It said it expects to provide a trading update with preliminary year-end revenue next week.
don't know but ppe is a big talking point and scarce at the moment with covid not going away any time soon it'll be well needed , my question is who? It is a number of parties so this go to bidding then who knows?
Broker forecast will be well over 3p. Many directors have bought in over 5p
how much do we think the offer is to buy the company?
My buy just went through as a sell, why play games with a stock that’s hardly trading
I fear soupchicken is correct. Oddly although I sold out some time back and made a small return at 3.5-4p mark I hold some affection for COS as a product but it is just too small with insufficient income to fly on its own. Possible buy out target for a slightly bigger competitor maybe but at a price that screws the private investors.
