I've not asked. I took the most recent cash div, which was 2 pence and then sold. Just doesn't seem to be right to devalue the shares by issuing scrip
Have you asked CAMK why they partly used scrip divis? What did they say?
In the past but I sold some months ago because I simply do not believe the cash figure is true. In my view, this all comes down to the cash pile and whether or not you believe it. Why did the company pay scrip divis (yes, I know they also offered cash) when they supposedly have more than enough cash to pay the divi several times over. Makes no sense even if you factor in the new facility costs. I sold at 39.50 and i suspect this rise is a opportunity for others to sell. Beware the bull trap. Of course I may be 100% wrong and I hope that is the case for genuine investors.
There is, sadly, a lot of prejudice on AIM. A British miner says a smudge on a PC screen is 1 billion barrels of oil, and AIM investors pile in with millions. A Chinese brand says they're sitting on millions of free cash, millions of profits and tangible products seen in the marketplace, and few want to know. Eventually, though, Chinese firms will come into fashion on AIM, because they are too big to ignore. Just a question of when, not if.
The audited A/c last FY showed £48M cash in hand or at bank. The £10M 'invested' at 3% is not needed to 'run' the business, since it has always reported positive free cash flow. For all the newbies to the board, I did suggest to Mr Zhang, via Abchurch, that the co., to invigorate confidence, should either implement a share buyback scheme, or return to shareholders, by way of a special divi, 30p ps, costing £23M, or half of the cash at bank. Mr Zhang himself would have personally benefited to the tune of £15M, since he owns 65% of the shares. . Abchurch did reply, stating Mr Zhang is happy with the way he presently runs the company. The co paid 4,3p cash ps last year in divis, and with the stated 12.5% downturn in net profit, still leaves sufficient free cash flow to pay another 2p when finals announced in April, making 4p cash for the year. It's all a question of believability. If it pays another 2p in April, at 20p sp, makes 20% yield. Is it 'too good to be true'. April divi will boost it, April cancellation of divi will tank it. Easy choice? All in MHO of course
If they are scamming, they have certainly invested a hell of a lot of money marketing their brand. Enough for it to be worth counterfeiting in Korea! http://www.dhgate.com/product/korean-version-of-the-cam-kids-girls-down/156817866.html http://www.aweldaw.com/s-camkids http://list.qoo10.sg/s/CAMKIDS?keyword=camkids&keyword_auto_change= http://www.myshopping.com.au/ZM--1233076078_Genuine_CAMKIDS_small_camel_adolescent_boys_and_girls_outdoor_equipment_fitted_jacket_ski_suit_25FWO15 http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=camkids

skier, what? Don't you trust them?
Roll-on April 2015 - that's when they can withdraw, not just RMB100mill, but RMB103mill (incl. interest)! I wonder where they will deposit the "cash" after then. I'm sure they will be even more creative.
For an AIM stock, where 90%+ of companies are usually losing or burning money (or about to), a positive 2-3% return is actually not bad. They do need to do an audit, with a non-Chinese auditor, to reconfirm what they have.
that's funny. had to recommend your post. ATB
Camkids CLAIMS today that they became more pro-active in April 2014 by locking away RMB100mill in a 1-year deposit account at a 3% pa interest rate. Wow, that what I call serious pro-activity. Even more active than using the mattress! How about using the money to run the business instead? CAMK should invest in stand-up comedy instead.
well that's the key: after them, I'll look to re buy here ...or perhaps at 5p for punt lol
maybe they don't want to risk it...?
Very very risky speculate share! Too many of these Chinese companies are nothing but a scam, in my opinion.
why non exec's not buying big?
Of course. UNAUDITED cash
I wasn't ramping, just giving people heads up on cash equivalent....in RNS
52p, Undervalued
Worth a re-read http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?code=cotn:CAMK.L&display=discussion&id=11200208&action=detail
And wtf are they on about with the factory.
Unaudited cash. In China. Don't ramp this
Cash equivalent to 57p so. Wow. Get in quick. Read the RNs
Huge rise today coming. Must be tiny free float. Ticking up on nearly each buy.
