LONDON—As banks across Europe clean up their balance sheets, it is causing a feeding frenzy among hedge funds and private-equity firms hungry for their troubled assets. Many marquee funds are flocking around the dozens of European lenders that recently have ratcheted up efforts to get rid of soured loans and other assets, a legacy of profligate lending and investing before the financial crisis. Banks from the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain have been unloading tens of billions of dollars worth of assets—from loans to finance major U.S. construction projects and leveraged buyouts to slices of securities ...

Guys we are getting smaller all the time !! First results from a major astronomical survey using a cutting-edge technique appear to have confirmed the existence of mysterious dark energy. Dark energy makes up some 74% of the Universe and its existence would explain why the Universe appears to be expanding at an accelerating rate. The finding was based on studies of more than 200,000 galaxies. Scientists used two separate kinds of observation to provide an independent check on previous dark energy results.
Was doing some research earlier came across a saying "chaostan ",stan meaning the land of ,of course you knew that, silly me ,well it sums up the stockmarket at the moment i reckon ,where to next fellas ?? Further clues to surface in the next few days methinks ,dont forget to tune your UMC T.V to channel 3 and make sure that coat hanger is positioned correctly to pick up the signal . When a market can't move higher on good news something is wrong. And don't forget bull markets don't top on bad news, they top on good news. If the market can recover and move to new highs the cyclical bull will be confirmed, but if the market continues to fade and drops back below the March 16th "tsunami" bottom it will constitute a failed intermediate cycle. If both the Dow and the Transports close back below that level we would have a Dow Theory sell signal and that would confirm the next leg down in the secular bear has begun. It would also be a signal that the economy was unable to handle the spiking food and energy costs that were the direct result of Bernanke trying to prop up the financial system with his printing press. Like I said, printing money has never been the answer. Every empire in history has tried this approach and not one of them has ever succeeded with it. We won't either.
