‘ Solar and wind look more expensive than almost any alternative on an unsubsidized basis…This is especially true when accounting for the full system costs…Nuclear appears to be the cheapest scalable, clean energy source by far.’

Lady, you need to start coming up with answers and fast.
Why on earth Spain has not looked into the process of enriching Uranium and also building their own reactors is beyond belief? Abundant energy would take them back to being a world super power and with their geographical location a manufacturer and exporter, they could easily rival South Korea and surpass them.
I guess Ribera likes the Spanish man to be weak and inutile!
Look what is going on,
https://www.caspianpolicy.org/research/energy-and-economy-program-eep/french-connection-macrons-nuclear-deals-in-central-asia
Lady you are not fit to be in office or will you continue to take nuclear electric off the French grid?
Did you see George Monbiot on QT last Thursday, what a complete and utter melt!
Total bovine excrement imo....
"By 2028 the European Union (EU) can replace Russian natural gas
for power and heat with renewables and heat pumps. Not only is this
achievable and beneficial for the EU’s energy security and climate action,
but also a significant fraction of the investment required can be paid for
from the resulting reduction in gas expenditure. Russia accounted for
almost 50% of the EU’s gas supply before the invasion of Ukraine."
What world are these cretins living in? Germany now in recession as its industrial base collapses without cheap Russian oil and gas! Oh and Germany now the largest emitter of CO2 in Europe as they burn lignite (Wet Brown Coal) to keep the lights on. Still closing down the nuclear power plants was a stroke of genius by Merkel and the Green Party! I could go on. Meanwhile in Madrid a bunch of well dressed Africans run a European Country into bankruptcy despite it being an early adopter of nuclear power under a dictator called Franco!
I bet Ribera got her lettuce wet over this one,
https://sustainablefinance.ox.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Race-to-Replace-report-2_RC_16.pdf
What happens if they fail in the mean time?
It is only a matter of time before their ideology implodes and we get a government in who will grant that final permit.
Teresa Ribera is ideologically crazy and is contributing to bigger problems down the road for the Spanish people.
I see Shakira's settled her tax case saying "I need to move past the stress and emotional toll of the last several years."
That basically sums up how I feel as a BKY shareholder 😔
‘ No wonder half of Spain's out on the streets.’
I know I’ve seen some of the footage and it is nasty.
Yes shuffle her off somewhere asap.
I'm still trying to work out why the BKY sp has been holding up so well despite Sanchez forming a govt. I'd have expected it to fall at the prospect of 4 more years of the same govt approach.
Maybe it's because no-one expects it to last more than 2 max. The dodgy amnesty will also surely fail in court. You can't ignore the constitution then pardon one set of cons just to get you into power and leave the rest banged up. The coalition would fall with the amnesty. And you've also got BKY's v strong ongoing legal appeal, and the possibility of the govt deciding to act lawfully for once and give the permits anyway.
No wonder half of Spain's out on the streets.
Re-edits, hope he reshuffles positions,
she cannot provide
Hopefully he reshuffles portions and that miserable looking Ribera woman is turfed out for being totally unrealistic and incompetent.
An absolute clear conflict of interest,
'Ribera is also a member of several advisory councils, including the Global Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN),[3] the global climate change advisory council of the World Economic Forum,[4] and the Momentum For Change initiative of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC);[5] belongs to the international council of the BC3, to the advisory council of the Institut pour la Recherche du Développement (IRD)[6] and to the patronages of Fundipax[7] and Fundación Alternativas.[8] In September 2013, she began to collaborate with the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), based in Paris, and in June 2014 she assumed its direction. The organization is dedicated to the analysis of strategic issues related to sustainable development, climate change, protection of biodiversity, food security and management of the urbanization process.'
She will take Spain down to it's knees with her ideological nonsense that she can provide reals answers for!
Sanchez it is. BKY should put out a statement setting out its strategy for this next coalition.
Could it be that the market thinks the new coalition will be more likely to act lawfully now and grant the outstanding permits now that Podemos are out the picture? Ribera's still around but it was Podemos often openly crowing about flouting the law.

At what point with the country economically break and no longer be viable?
Looks like it'll be Sanchez again come next week with a chaotic coalition but with all sorts of issues particularly around the amnesty.
The BKY sp seems have held steady recently notwithstanding. Any thoughts on what to expect now for BKY? On the face of it not promising for permitting.
JUST IN - After the left-green-liberal government has shut down the last nuclear power plants in Germany, Finance Minister Lindner now says, "as long as it is not clear whether energy is available and affordable, we should end the dreams of a coal phase-out in 2030."
Meanwhile what answers has this government come up with for future energy demands, a solar panel and a wind turbine connected to a battery?
Where is the energy going to come from to extract the minerals to produce those three necessary items and what happens to them at the end of their life cycle of around ten years?
At what point do the Spanish electorate wake up and realise they are being had?
This is a significant week in Spanish politics which could impact on BKY's chances of permitting. Outside chance of a PP lead govt this week, then a couple of months of Sanchez trying, otherwise a general election on 14 Jan.

I'm certainly pleased with my other uranium shares particularly Cameco.
BKY still all about Spanish politics imo. Bloomberg quote JPMorgan today predicting fresh general election Dec/Jan as most likely. Looks like it's adios 2023, another year gone for long suffering BKY shareholders :-(

"Uranium prices have surged to their highest level in 12 years, underlining a global renaissance in nuclear power as utilities race to lock in fuel supplies.
Prices for the commodity dubbed “yellowcake” have jumped about 12 per cent to $65.50 per pound over the past month, breaching last year’s peak to reach heights not seen since 2011, according to data from UxC, a pricing data provider.
Uranium demand has been lifted by governments from Washington to Seoul and Paris seeking energy independence by extending the lifetime of the existing fleet of nuclear reactors as they contemplate building new plants after gas prices skyrocketed due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The milestone for uranium prices marks a big step towards nuclear power’s re-emergence as a critical carbon-free source of baseload power in global efforts to tackle climate change, a role that had been undermined by Japan’s Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011."

The Times they are a changing.....
Not a great end to the day....hoping for news from Brussels and Madrid on a new EU Energy Policy.
I saw something in the alternative media about this today,
Basically the African counteries have teamed up with China and Russia and given Macron the FU finger, now France has lost a uranium source.
It is only matter of time before reality hits these ideological idiots, they need uranium as a base load power in Europe and the source material is within their borders!

Amused to read that a Spanish Company has a 10% stake in one of the mines!
