Price hammered in last ten days....Seems a great buy now!
Arm launches latest chip to power the internet of things: Arm Holdings is making its biggest push yet into the so-called “internet of things”, releasing a chip designed for connected home appliances and wearable products, as the U.K. technology company attempts to open up new avenues for future growth.
well they'l always be with us and especially when Arm is what 40 x earnings or some such.?And the average share earning multiplication is about 15...but the important thing for me is that Arm is a dynamic company and i just stay with them and have done so for years. At last the dividend is increasing regularly and at a v good rate;Arm is cash rich and is intent on increasing the monies paid to shareholders....it's widening it's market penetration and it confidently goes about it's business with aptitude and force...there have been plenty of doubters over the years. The premium phone business has matured they say.Well yes but the emerging mass markets for basic phones will want to trade up and the internet of things is in it's infancy....Arm is an experienced blooded company in an industry which will directly affect our lives....all of us on this planet. So for me at any rate and for many others too i remain v confident for it's future.
Looks like the MMs are making it a shorter's paradise, Iconoclast, for the time being. Hope they get their come-uppance one day soon when the price goes up and stays up and then goes up the next day :-)
Apple shares fell.Market wasn't happy that the watch is tied to the iphone....but today the shares recovered. And so does Arm.Nothing surprising here.
What was yesterday all about then? Profit takers and those baling out from the long haul? I don't think the Apple product launch should have been a negative.
The people who write for Motley Fool v often have divergent view's on a company....but strangely they all agree to a man that Motley Fool is absolutely right about the share's its peddling.Really? No disagreement there. If some said that MF share pick was open to question, they might carry more weight.
Arm in trouble? Not a bit of it.The times this has happened.Disputes.Arguments over who owns what. It's in the nature of this business that it will happen and won't make a dent in Arm.Onwards and upwards and it will be upwards sometimes at an angle and sometimes not as fast...........but a v determined company at the cutting edge.Wow!!
Motley fool is absurd. It advocates total opposite than you need to do. It was telling to sell ARM when itwas going up, stock up when it was declining for months, and other nonsense. I think these guys are getting paid per article from brokerages. At the moment ARM is in trouble- lawsuit is not good. I am glad that I bailed out.
I know a few on LSE are not great fans of Motley Fool but I thought today's note from Hargreaves on ARM is worth a read ____ http://www.fool.co.uk/investing/2014/09/04/arm-holdings-plc-is-gearing-up-for-rapid-growth/
I wish everyone luck, but my holding in ARM was too small to bother. Future of ARM is quite bright. Tablets are declining, but plenty phones run either ARM processors or their licensed technology. Plus don't forget internet of things, small electronics, that will need a chip or two and so on.
well I hope you don't live to regret bailing out just now, atb. Seems to me as many sells as buys just now, and the next bit of good news (e.g. iPhone) will put ARM back on the news radar with a positive story. I think people are missing the point that it's the new markets they are well positioned for developing that are the forward interest. Sure, sales/licencing of chips to mobile and possibly tablets is declining, but IoT is a big opportunity and they are well positioned, not just for more of the same but totally additional to traditional tablets/mobiles etc. GLA.
Look at the orders. Some people put like 100k on transactions. I feel seriously too small among all these whales. That is not my pond.
Was holding it since like April or so. Bought at small drop in heights, while it looked as only sky is the limit. Since then it was underperforming as much as -16%. I had an idea that it will bounce back. I was right. It did. But you know what? I am tired of it. I mean I made like meager fish and chips money. Probably holding in high interest money account would have made more. The share was simply underperforming. I bet that many people like me are cashing in. Yes, ARM has BIG prospects in the future- internet of things, putting processors in about everything you see around, but I am tired of waiting. It might take months or a year. I bet it will go up to 1000 at the end of this month/year.
I agree, looking at the intraday so far today its typical of raising the price to trigger profit taker sells then lowering the price to trigger more limit order sells. MMs are creating a shorter's paradise but that's not the point. Someone is shaking the tree both ways to accumulate more shares. Therefore SOMEBODY knows a rise is coming.
The intraday chart suggests there was some profit taking after lunch. Expected some drop along the way after seeing such positive buying for some time now since the mentioned drop. More good stuff to come. ( My view Strong Hold / Add )
Any idea why ARM were +10p today but have ended up -13.5p? Thanks
Well on the other hand I topped up by 40% today, in the hope of good news on 9th with iPhone launch knocking it up a few %. I'm guessing it will open higher tomorrow anyway, and probably break the 1000 briefly. My wish is for it to top 1200. My expectation is that is possible in a month or so, but not certain.
Will go up to 1000 and pass that mark. But I got rid of it today. Despite insane daily rise I got tired of it, plus initiative to hold is not so convincing- dividends are smaller. I believe if it will go up just a little bit there will be quite a bit sells from people holding it for months since the SP crash. Future is bright in general for ARM, but I bailed out of it.
why is this dropping, has ther ebeen some new news
Good news keeps coming in and the future looks bright. I wish I had the spare dosh to fill my boots @ 835 but have had to keep my sensible hat on these past few months. Oh well at least i'm in the money again. http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2362888/arm-says-momentum-is-growing-for-64-bit-chip-designs
Had these for some time now post £5 I've noticed this creep up almost every day For weeks now,the mm's think where stupid and wouldn't notice...Ha Ha, we have though.
Nearing £10. Positive momentum for a few weeks now.
