Chinese orange producer Asian Citrus (ACHL:AIM) is set to unveil strong interims on Friday of next week (25 Feb). The company should generate strong growth for several years. Many of its orange trees are immature with 20% not even fruit bearing. Planting at the Hunan Plantation will increase capacity by over 35%. The company is also seeking to acquire assets under China’s privatisation programme. The increased importance of supermarket sales will lead to enhanced margins. The acquisition of Behai Fruit Juice will be immediately earnings enhancing. Sue Munden of house broker Seymour Pierce believes profits will grow by over 50 % this year and next.
The largest orange producer in China Asian Citrus (ACHL:AIM) announced last week (27 Jan) that first-half profits would be up by more than 100%, exceeding market expectations. The firm should be able to offer several years of very strong growth. It has several plantations which include many acres of immature orange trees. This means output should grow substantially over the next five to six years. But that is not the limit of the company's ambitions. It is moving into the orange juice market which should lead to better margins. It is also increasing sales to supermarkets which in China provide better returns on sales than those to wholesalers. The company is also anxious to acquire further estates. A 25.5% increase in the winter crop’s yield and a 9% rise in average selling prices were the dynamics behind the better-than-expected half-year trading update and we expect the company to continue to surprise on the upside.
Asian Citrus says interim profits will more than double this year. The AIM-quoted and Hong Kong-listed Chinese oranges grower says that there was a 25.5% increase in its winter orange crop combined with a 9% increase in average selling prices. House broker Seymour Pierce says that the trading statement is consistent with its profit forecast of RMB155m in the six months to December 2010, excluding biological asset gains. Nearly 12% of that will come from the juice business. Seymour Pierce reckons that the gain on biological assets will be RMB363m for the full year and most of that will come in the first half. The interims should be released during February
The ACHL Website has improved quite a bit. Up until recently it seemed fairly stale but now info such as today's RNS is added pretty quickly. http://www.asian-citrus.com/index.html
Regulatory Story Go to market news section Company Asian Citrus Holdings Ltd TIDM ACHL Headline Trading Statement Released 10:00 27-Jan-2011 Number 1750A10 RNS Number : 1750A Asian Citrus Holdings Ltd 27 January 2011 27 January 2011 Asian Citrus Holdings Limited ("Asian Citrus" or the "Company") Trading Update The Board wishes to inform the shareholders of the Company and potential investors in the Company that, based on the preliminary assessment of the unaudited management accounts of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group"), the unaudited profits of the Group for the six months ended 31 December 2010 are expected to substantially increase by more than 100% as compared to the unaudited profits for the corresponding period last year. TOdays Financial times Headline "cold weather damaging orange crops in florida" , the world's 2nd largest producer of oranges has pushed orange juce a 3 1/2 year high. ACHL produces winter oranges . So is there a posiblity of this share rising very soon? debate is open everyone is welcome.
Out of here with a small loss.
OMG Somebody just brought 9025 shares for the bargain price of ...... 185p!! WTF???
I've decided to short this stock, H+S pattern was confirmed. Bulls should take note of the resistence at 73. If that breaks, I'll be having a party, if it don't I'll take a little bit of profit from this short and walk away.
Head and shoulders pattern (daily chart), I hate these damn patterns, they always spoil my fun! I was looking to hop on the bandwagon, think I'll sit this one out and see if it bounces off the neckline, if it does, down trend city. One thing I have noticed with this stock is the extraordinary acuracy of the candlesticks on this stock, looking at the history this stock LOVES green, in fact I've never seen anything like it before. Anyway lets see what the next few days brings, that'll answer wether to short or long this stock.
Sorry, this is NOT an encouragement for ramping. For a newcomer to this share, please could the experienced holders of ACHL give an idea of their medium term SP. Cheers.

Very quiet on here ahead of the HK listing, should be good for a 10 - 20% rise on the day imho.
does anyone know the reson for the huge drop of 80%
This was a 10 for one share split.
This is on my watch list... yes, it's a decimal point. Will look like a huge rise when it is corrected!
Anyone else get the feeling that the spread should be 370.00 to 380.00, but somebody somewhere has got there decimal points in the wrong place, so the spread is being reported as 37.00 to 380.00?
hi has this been delayed or cancelled, otherwise no other apparent reason for the drop
Crazy 927% spread? No vol. to trigger correction, explanation remains a mystery. Only last month Tony Tong, Chairman, commented: "We are confident that Asian Citrus will continue to progress and deliver good value to its shareholders in the wake of the continued economic growth in China."
44% wonder why ?
