P -if your willing to invest in something then it is solely your decision. Metro is a big gamble for anyone, I bought in at 385 yesterday and willing to hold for 3-6 months, if it hits £5 then I will walk away. No reason to blame others for your investment decisions. Its always useful to hear other peoples ideas and feedback but always do you own research!
BB- your input is always welcome
Hi Bigbangs
Long time reader of this forum, 1st time poster just wanted to say I always found your thought quite interesting, I had a look at Metro bank myself after you mentioned it, haven't pulled the trigger yet as I want to do my own due diligence (ahem......pistachio ????????) but never would have crossed my radar without you mentioning it, so I personally am all ears for other opportunities you find interesting so please keep sharing your thoughts.
Thanks P. I do not claim to be an expert but I have been investing for 30 years and have well over £1 m currently in the market. Some shares at dome point go down but I have made a lot of money in the market and appreciate leads from other posters some of which I act on and some that I do not. I made money the last time I bought Metro, I was in profit before yesterday and expect to be in profit again. One thing that is sure is that I will not whinge or blame anyone else for my own investing decisions something that you might want to learn. After all the time that we have been together on this board and dispite the fact that I should know better you comments have cut me P but from now on of course I will keep my thoughts to myself about other companies.
Big bangs you are ridiculous I brought metro way back when aca spiked to 2.65 and lost 2k overnight on your suggestion, seems like you need forums in your life Your choice of buys since aca are rubbish, get a dog and go walking.Aca is now Barrick so that is that, reading the posts of ex aca people make me cringe, suddenly overnight are experts on other companies.lol anyone get in on fevertree drop, guess not.bye.
GOT cannot be trusted ...there were many other alternatives to deal with their greeds to have a better share of ACA growing profits but instead they chose to criminalise the company with fabrication and forcing it to sell its assets at a discount as ACA management were too honourable for them to accept....
Barrick with MB at the helm will spin off Aca again at a later date if no other bidders coming forwards now. He is clever and ,experienced ceo in that part of the world but not naive to keep dealing with the GOT. He added value to barrick now with Aca cheap bid and more value to come when he spins it out again and leave Tanzania.
Hence I am sticking with it now as in both cases is a. Win win situation.
GOT have damaged their country reputation in the mining industry and to the wealth of their country long term for political short gains....unless this government is replaced with a more accommodating one to the industry BUT
It will be a very difficult task to regaining trust once you lose it ..
GL
Agree with you..my concern is that as soon as they do well the GOT will come along and start eroding profits to keep them in check!
Like you Franky I have a small position in SHG because I think they are well run and the reserves are good. I feel battered by GoT so will not be increasing my position, the only reason we got through this was because we had deep pockets and the ‘backing’ of Barrick, SHG are tiny in comparison and could not face any more grief than they have already have.
Hi Fanky I respect your views to be honest, but my worry is a political one in that if the GOT see results from being difficult with Aca they could play the same card again with Shanta. However if Shanta are any good and producing they might even get eaten up by Barrick? so its as you say a very much 50/50 gable. I'd rather be in for the moment in CEY where they have no funding issues.no debts and have just found better Gold reserves in Egypt. They also have a new mine under wraps so I'm told? So lots of upside in that share for me at the moment.
if you can stomach Tanz, I'd say Shanta is a decent shout Super. Not for feint hearted given what we know about the GOT, but done nicely with a small side-bet from earlier in the year and can see them on the up as Mgt team seem pretty Savvy.
Just bought some more CEY -Centamin. Very good production report and what's more new Gold finds and the quality of the Gold being mined is now of a very good quality. I see this for myself as my natural successor to Acacia. However I will still hold Acacia as I still feel we have a lot more room to move up here. Gold up now to 1432oz which will help both of my Companies. All the best of luck chaps.
I'd say stick with what you know chaps. This baby will still keep rising in the current climate. So will the other miners as I say I also hold CEY which has a very positive recent announcement. No debt, No hedging and now a higher grade of Gold with many new discoveries worth a look.
I am sorry you lost on Metro Bank but I am afraid the margins are just not there and the likelihood is they will get worse, i'd get out on any profit and stick with the miners. I lost yesterday on Marstons on last years sales due to bad weather but my feeling is due to this years current good weather then sales are going to improve big time. So I will stick with them or even top up if they continue to slide.
Well massive kick in the guts with MTRO this morning - you are probably right have given it a miss hasiba. I have doubled up of course although I am beginning to think that I must like the pain!
I feel metro is not as good investment at present...its intrinsic value to future cash flow is £2.67.
I looked into it and the deeper you do the more risky it becomes so I avoided it.
Good luck and hope I am wrong....just imo.
Indv..I bought some at 44.6 p recently but is still risky because of doj and their prejudice against non Americans cos. Slightly worrying but the rewards here is huge and their recent profits upgrade cannot be ignored. Either doj fines Indv or reach a settlement but let’s hope it reaches settlement and that is my hope and less than 100m then the sp will really jump, otherwise will have to wait until May2020 which may keep sp at low.
Back to aca..this is where the real investment at present and definitely more good news expected and I will keep holding .
GL
My friend having INDV 185000 shares with the price of £1.50. Another friend just had 2 third of his shares bought two days ago. Imagine he have to wait for £1.50 then without lose and at that time another friend already gain more than 100 grand, so sometimes good to wait with good price but sometimes no time to wait because the lower price looking for no drop back and become history.
Millions investors hold INDV for years with £2.00 price. Today £0.52 nothing compare to those held with high prices pray for quick bounce back. Sometime when SP stay long period no moving investors stay aside and then when the good news keep coming the price will never drop. There still lot of investors held Aca with £3.50. Just like Aca £1.50 SP become history now.
I love Aca and definitely will never leave ACA cause this is long term investment. But invest and harvest is different matter. When harvest already done continue invest again whenever which stock information come first to harvest. My friend used to say that sharing information for making harvest investing is nothing, money not from his own pocket or taken from his cash machine, as this is just the public money, well to share a piece of cake and enjoying the different taste of cake. I like this board members and would like to share the information and sharing different taste of cake that's all. Investors must genuine and kind, never do harm or self get choke so at night sleep well and have beautiful sweet dream. GLA
Never brought indv as had to many aca and still have but I had a lot of knowledge about them and drop obviously overdone then.Might buy em eventually but would be waiting for pullback due to profit taking .lol..
Hi P, hope you are still in INDV - your average should be pretty good - we all missed the 20p mark but the risk that things could go wrong we’re much higher then than now. I am just bemused by FRES. I have a position and will probably add but it just defies logic and keeps falling - I am beginning to believe in conspiracy theories with that one - watching and waiting for now. ATB
Thanks BB ... I will watch tomorrow and try and get in at an opportune time
I made a lot of money on marl and solg about three years ago and frittered it away on other stocks,I do wish I had brought indv at 20p awhile back but happy to stay here as it's ringfenced.Sreaming bargains are rare some advisory service sent me an email to buy bids awhile back at 10p which I stupidly ignored.Fres I will buy at 7.50 if it gets that low and sell at 9 pounds.done it a couple of times so that must work.lol.
Pat - Your average on Metro is better than mine. Don’t worry about the odd 10p with INDV if it comes good you will be pleased you invested and not bothered that you could have made a little more - their price can wobble during the day so pick your moment.
BB .. I’ve still got best part of 20kACA left in my ISA ... I took a punt on metro with the results my Avg with them is around 484 ..... I have some spare cash now so I will take a punt on INDV tomorrow... just gutted I didn’t get in earlier as they are up 10p in the last week
Pat - I will not make any comment as to your selling ACA - your money your call. As for Metro I have posted on site this evening, I believe the worst is over possibility of a tree shake but trend must be up, buy on any dips. I am doing well with a INDV - in my own view they are now best opportunity in the market - I hope their US case will be settled soon and at much less than they have provided for - their cash balance is double their market cap - my own target in £1-£2 - DYOR but I would love you to join me in either or both. ATB
I think if they are especially from the other side of the pond they can see various benefits coming in here, especially with the currency play and if the Fed is to reduce rates.
Also as the G.O.T. are in favour of the Barrick takeover they will not now play the hard ball tactics, and we may get some more good news here very soon. We are creeping up and our price is underpinned. We could out our money in worst places!! I am sticking and watching everyday my investment growing. One of my stock allocations is well into profit now.
BB ... Today I sold 11.5k of my ACA at 229.6 ... I’ve bought 3120 MTRO shares at 477 ... just wondering what are your thoughts firstly on the results and secondly I’ve still got around £12k left in my regular trading account ... I’ve been watching INDV but they have risen from around 42 up to 52 ... have I missed the boat here
Fidelity must see Barrick as a good investment, plus the aca divi from sale of non core assets, that's why I'm sticking here.
