Just layer in on Monday morning, ffs.
I took my sister to the airport, I just layer in on modal morning, well done on Eto, if they get bought out what happens in the comp ? Does it just get frozen.
I stayed up for 100m,bit of a disappointment Bolt makes it look easy but never seems to go 100% effort.400m race was better to watch beforehand imo.Fishing on the Ouse locally yesterday with family, stumbled on edge of carpark gravel road and did a bolt 6m to stay upright lol, whilst holding 2 threepacks of coop magnums(well there was 4 of us). Off to Hunstanton for the day today, like hot making the most of the good weather.
Just got back from Barmouth --- another glorious sunny day !! We were on the beach enjoying ourselves and just reflected for a while on the two teenagers who tragically lost their lives their just a few days ago !! Funny old world at times !!! ------ AA --- where on earth were you going that time of morning ?? i didn't get to bed very early after all ---- stayed up to watch Andy Murray's match and then Usain Bolt , so didn't set off until 10am . Gs ----- yes, can't beat a spoons pub for value , usually do a daily deal of some sort or another !! Optimus ----- got stopped out of my Dax and Ftse100 swings short for b/e ( altho' had banked a few points on some daily scalping the last few sessions ) . Still in a Dow swing short running around b'/e but made a fair few points on that as well on a couple of days scalping . Haven't bothered to go back into Gold again yet --- Looks like i may well be second in the comp. after today's rise --- if it holds till friday (lol) , Got an AHT short order in for tomorrow morning --- looking overdone in the short term ( fingers crossed). Markets do look very bullish tho' atm so i'm going to have to be a bit careful with any short trading atm. GLA ---- looking for somewhere to go tomorrow as it may be the last sunny day for a while (lol) .
Come on Murray!
Arts the subject he wants to pursue and possibly be a teacher after a degree be it at Oxford,Manchester or wherever his grades take him. I was really impressed with Oxford,so much less crowded than Cambridge(where my brother went) and probably better pubs lol(54 on the poster in the art shop). The Swan and Castle can be recommended,I had an excellent gammon steak meal with a pint for just 8 quid, top weatherspoons value!
Not as early as me, 2.30am
My maths are all over the place atm . (lol) ----- 42.6% it is .!!! GL ---- got an early start to Barmouth in the morning , so up the wooden stairs very soon now for me !!!!
Gs congrats on your boy hopefully getting into Oxford.. Ariel thanks for updates Hot, one punch from JB and they never get up. yes agreed sad to see Bourne's lovely and only friend in the world seen off so early on. Great car wrecking scene in Vegas. Good to see Douee take a built at long last. . Yes storyline getting played out but very much left open for another. As the account is still open.
Yeh, I was a bit tired and rushed it a bit, actually 42.6% but Pmo is 44.2% so similar discrepancy, I will make sure the final one in December is accurate to the fractions.have a good week.
I'm only third after all ( it's actually 42.8% but still only third .) ---- Thanks AA for the update !!--- GLA -----
1 Ved + 97 % 2 Pmo + 44% 3 Eto + 42% 4 Tlw + 39% 5 Purp + 38.6% 6 Rya - 17% 7 Cns - 34 % 8 Flyb - 59% 9 Gkp - 65% That's done far another week, sorry Hottentot, I made it 3rd position but we'll done on the progress, I will try not to be late again.
Optimus ---- glad to hear you enjoyed the film !!! Pity about that gorgeous thing " Nicky " getting killed off .------ i did enjoy the film but i think the storyline is a tad played out now tho' . Damon is one of my all time favourite action heroes ---seen most of his work over the years . Gs ----- enjoy your day , i'm still " stuffed" from last night's Hog Roast and rather expensive watery lager at Shrewsbury Flower Show . Fireworks were impressive , as always . I just love a good firework show ( must be the arsonist in me ) ----- always setting fire to things as a child , luckily tho' it was only wasps nests and rotten logs (lol) . GLA ----- still waiting for JDF's opinion of the film !!!!
Off to Oxford on family trip, eldest sons first choice for uni next year, tempus fugit.
Hello all. ....... hot Liberaman can't remember that we posted that much.must have been a few years back..... Hot got to see Jason Bourne. Absolutely loved every heart stopping minute of it !!!!!!. Some interesting posts by you two re bonds . I'll add to those posts when I get a minute. Good luck all.
No, Lloyds can only redeem them if they wish on a specific " call" date ---- it is around the end of december , i think, in this case !!-- At that time Lloyds , if they wish , will buy them back at the market price at that time ---- BUT if they choose not to " call" them in then the remaining term could be at a much reduced rate / yield as they do not have to continue to 2021 with the current 10.75% yield !!--- I have to factor these types of things in when i buy Bonds at times !!--- By my reckoning still , if you bought them at the current price of 106.25 p ish ( 1000 is minimum tho' i think ) then you will get £107.5 annually for every 1000 Bonds at Par Value ( 100p) --- That equates to 107.5( yield ) divided by 1062 ( cost of 1000 to buy) x 100 = 10.12 % .or there abouts !! Your figure of 10.263% is calculated using Mid Price not Buy Price , but near enough , i suppose --- They may actually be worth a bit of a punt ----- but just remember you may only have till december ( 4 months ) before they are redeemed or offered back at a much lower yield !!-- GL ----
Current yield is shown as running yield of 10.263%,Im guessing that you can sell directly back to hl at the sell rate and their profit is the margin between buy and sell rate, like you say lloyds can buy back at any time by the looks of it.
Don't know much about " subordinated fixed notes " ---- they are tradeable , obviously , thru' H&L but they are not tradeable on ORB , which is the main Stock Exchange for retail bonds . I stick to ORB tradeable Retail Bonds myself but the Bond you highlight apparently pays 10.75% annually . The redemption value i have no idea about ( possibly 100p the same as ordinary bonds ?? ) but there will be a "call" date before then when LLoyds could redeem them early if they want to !! They are traded over par at the moment so that 10.75% will be diluted down somewhat if they are treated the same way as normal retail bonds ( 106p -100p = 6p or 6% ) . Below is a bit of info i found about them and the LSE ORB retail bond site listing all ORB Tradeable Retail Bonds. -- " Moving on to the various asset classes, in general, subordinated bank debt is firm. This is part of the general "risk-on" shift that we are seeing in January. My personal favourite is the Lloyds 10.75% 2021. This bond steps up to LIBOR + 9% in 2016, so the assumption is that it will be called at that point. In the meanwhile, holders can enjoy a big fat coupon. The bonds were offered at 99.75 last week, but I believe you would have to pay about 102.5 this week. I expect this instrument to trade higher in due course, although the relatively short period of time to the call will tend to cap the upside." http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-markets/retail-bonds/retail-bonds-search.html GL ---- ask Hargreaves if they " act" the same as normal ORB Tradeable Retail Bonds .!!!
Ive been looking at bonds this morning out of curiosity, http://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/l/lloyds-tsb-bank-10.75-2021-notes Do these look like a safe return?
45.6% ---- that would put me 2nd .!! Just looked quickly at the others ----- yep, i 'm 2nd ( yippee) (lol) ---- GLA ----
What ya doing to me !!!--- i was desperate to know if the ETO bid has put me on top or not ??? -- Will have to look for myself now !!!-- GL ----

Yes , i agree it has been and looks like continuing to be a very " different " summer this time !!. Good to hear you're PF is having a better run this summer !! Unfortunately there's still time for a sizeable drop or two but least said the better about that atm . (lol) . Let's all try and stay positive on the markets if we can !! Off out again now --- may venture up to coast next monday/tuesday as a mini heat wave is on the cards apparently . Hog roast and fireworks at Shrewsbury flower show tomorrow night (lol) --- GL ----
