I am travelling back from Cyprus this week we are doing a lft it's a fiver cheaper through tui than the pcr test the whole thing is a shambles.
16p by easter ??
A slow start is being very kind to the board, I would call it slower than snails pace, let's all remember Rees wasn't going to jeopardise the core business for the sake of Covid test kits, when the core business went belly up (never understood why he thought it wouldn't tbh) the panic was then on to get PCR's moving, this then had a knock on with big expenditure and costs to the company in the same finacial year which still needs to be recovered I must add.
After a slow start we do need to ride this covid wave. Also we need to divulge numbers tested (tests sold) within a set period which we are poor at, along with current capicity numbers, which are not sufficient alone.
Hopefully we are going to get a Trading Update this week as LR indicated at AGM. SP should rise in anticioation and id like then to see a completely novel change whereby said news supports and increaees our SP rather than disappoints through wrak delivery and detail, resulting in a retrace. FINALLY AND JUST FOR ONCE!!!
WHO say this is going well into 2022 and beyond. Pcr is going nowhere and in fact testing is on the up. Nice £34m govt contract being worked through. Maybe more where that came from too? If they can keep going at 100k tests or more per month then numbers will be very good indeed. The change to lft for travel has been a disaster so far. The so called 'cheap tests' are not so cheap at upto £100 a time, lol.
More lockdowns on the way being reported, hmmm!, I think there is plenty more to go with pcr testing and Ygen are doing well with govt contracts and getting trusted to perform whilst, (unlike Immensa/Dante labs in Wolverhampton) getting their feet well under the table there.
They need to ride this covid wave for as long as possible
To me it looks as if the core business hasn't grown very much in the last six months due to the pandemic. PCR accounts for almost half of our revenue now, which is why the share price is where it is now. I'm expecting PCR testing to still be high, but until we get an update no knows for sure.
Which test is best has now come down to cost. I expect the general public will choose the cheapest. The PCR revenue was welcome but I think will now take a back seat and our future is with the 'core' products.
I can't say I'm to disappointed as I've posted before that I prefer us to be engaged in relatively niche products where we have a clear, and sometimes a unique advantage, rather than competing with a whole range of other companies. NIPT was the original attraction for me and the merger with Elucigene and Genomic services were examples of the intention to develop niche products into new markets. To YGENs credit the covid-19 distraction was well handled - maybe a little slow to start with but an excellent finished product. I just feel we're getting back to our major real business. Onwards and upwards!
I hope not. We only deal with gold standard products, and we all know LFT'S are unreliable.
Oops!
Sorry, but the list is incorrect. Ygen don't do lft or supply Cignpost now either.
