Great find. Aside from highlighting the obvious problem of having a company's name starting with "Y" it does show out of the 294 companies that circa 236 have emergency use authorization (EUA) for the US an that 99 of these have CE accreditation (and 61 of these are PCR based). The low 19 Asian accreditation perhaps might that they are deferring to the CE and WHO Emergency Use accreditation but is noticeable.
The limitations of this table though is that it doesn't have a column on test accuracy, number of genes tested and whether the test is antigen or an antibody test. With those filters added there are less comparables. Interestingly whereas Novacyt / Primerdesign is shown those invested in ODX, AVCT will notice they are missing. As a PCR test new novel technology from Avacta and GDR has captured the market's attention more. I have been amazed at how their sp and market valuations have changed despite that there may being some reservations as reflected by the Covid-19 National Diagnostic Research and Evaluation platform (CONDOR). It will be interesting to see just how these new technologies will fare by the end of all of this.
Yes Pac-Man.
Trick now is to find the right USP for your product to differentiate it from other offerings.Hopefully as YGEN do have a lot of expertise in this space then they realise this and/ or have a specific network of customers already on board that they can leverage this test for.
I have experience of operating in these pharma and diagnostic spaces where there is both little and lots of competition and trick where there are lots and you are late to launch is you need some sort of differential advantage to be a commercial success
Interesting to see just how many players in this market now.
Hopefully we will be getting news of regulatory approvals in other jurisdictions in short order.
