It appears Vodafone Group, and Aditya Birla Group, don't want to put any more of their own cash into the company, which probably makes sense in view of their treatment by the various Indian authorities.
BusheyTailed. Just unlucky I think. I would add, but need to wait until April & add to my I.S.A.
Vodafone Idea board to discuss Rs 1,600 crore debenture issue for ATC on January 31. Government must be close to converting to equity?

"Heading for a red finish after another promising start"
It's only a problem if you're desperate to sell, it's an opportunity for those looking at buying or topping up.
Heading for a red finish after another promising start
Not really surprising, the markets stamping on the Telecom sector. If you look at the US AT&T and Verizon demonstrate the market treatment of the sector.

Mikey, that made me laugh!
Here comes the afternoon ski slope
Back to £1 plus within 2 weeks. & still a buy after that. Don't miss the boat.
Media sentiment getting more positive on VOD.
' This company is overall qualitative. This company is fundamentally safe/conservative & well-run. This company pays a well-covered dividend. This company is currently cheap. This company has a realistic upside that is high enough, based on earnings growth or multiple expansion/reversion.'

'Vodafone down sizing headquarters'
Saudi interest is aljazira capital..

I guess these bits of info are what is helping to keep the SP a bit comatose when people look under the bonnet...
VOD has c €10Bn hybrid bonds maturing out to FY41+
https://investors.vodafone.com/debt-investors/financing-strategy
'Hybrid bonds blend debt- and equity-like characteristics in a single security, and they crucially get classed partially as equity by credit rating agencies. They have proved popular with investors as they offer more yield than traditional corporate bonds.'
Dan I don’t think VOD have any MBC left. Just 60bn of normal bonds they owe investors one day.
Maybe they issue stock to meet a payment, but that is not a Mandatory Convertible Bond.
Good luck with Cyprus - dodgy banks and govt propped up with hidden Russian money, in fact the whole place is infested with Russians. Worked in Cyprus of and on for years not all that nice now IMO...
Vodafone down sizing headquarters. Hope they move headquarters out of U.K. tax burden to high here now.
I’m looking at going expat to Cyprus. Fed up with high taxes and poor healthcare in this country.
"P.S. Was fleccy joking with his post? or just showing off?"
I was being honest, so I suppose I was showing off if anyone wants to view it that way. I'd share some of the charts, but then viewers would know how much I'm currently down lol.
Share buybacks. After all those shares have been bought back, it will probably all start over again with another MBC share buy back. MBC. is the way vod borrows money, which it still has to do, unless vod sells off all its assets. It is a case of getting the right balance, between debt & keeping valuable assets, not as easy as some think. (Without the benefit of hindsight). P.S. Was fleccy joking with his post? or just showing off?
Vodafone has so far bought back 1,293,872,492 shares. So, there is still 224,757,201 shares to be bought back to fully neutralise the MBC share issue. At a rate of 6,074,521 shares per session, 37 more buyback sessions are required.
Best Regards ValueS
"Anyone keeping a tally of how many shares they have now bought ? This has to make a difference soon surely ?"
I've built a spreadsheet, on Google sheets, with googlefinance functions updating every minute and formulating the gains/losses of all my stocks across different accounts, both individually and cumulatively. I also have a self updating historic chart, showing daily individual stock loss/gains and the total loss/gain across all the stocks in all the accounts.

I wish I could believe Deutsche Bank's constant positive rating for vodafone, but they are in cahoots, as Global strategic telecoms partners, so Deutsche bank are very bias. Still, lets hope they are right?
