portswigger.. TBH, I missed the boat a little on the big rise, was watching it, and with my inexperience couldn't figure out why it had spiked, and also got a little greedy . I should have sold my stake at its peak and left the profit, then it dipped and I didn't know what to do.... all learning curves, I max'd on the recent rights issue. So my average is up a little, but IMHO feel this is a good long term hold
Cleedubber. Crickey 3.76. I'd have sold along time ago with that. It's been over 14p since then. Respect Mate
I bought at 3.76. Not a huge ammount, as I'm new to investing, just saw some potential here.
Just watching any swings to top up on any drops now.
I've got confidence in this and will be holding.
Well how about reversing your trade so you get back what you paid in.
Surely some level of incompetence on their end to make the transaction if it is not compliant. Why should you lose money?
I'm at a loss, but being forced to sell by my Mrs compliance team at her investment bank who've stated ive breached their compliance policy and have told me to reverse my trades. Complete disaster as I was here for the long haul
You can buy at 6.22p and sell at 6.05p. it's pretty tight. Earlier the buy and sell was the same at 6.1414p.
Some random info
Yep indeed. It’s called ‘Reality FM’....
Radio XPB is playing the hits. Party time!
Lots of healthy debate fellas and all views are valid and credible. I have some faith as Velocys are sat at the table which is obviously promising as we have all said. As the SP is low I am quite happy to accept the uncertainity and timescale until more info is known. Like all penny shares, in fact all sahres it's all about risk and reward for us.
Well that's the end of this small fry, I've left the building.
Talk is cheap. It’s easy for the CEO to show support but equally as simple to back track given the more pressing issues of remaining a going concern.
As for putting green energy on hold, I totally agree. There are several low carbon projects being developed at the moment. However, the vast majority of these are using proven tech and the scale up is low risk - the main issue is finding. With VLS, the main issue is risk, which therefore mean even more issues with funding. At a time when nobody is making money, or losing it at a rapid rate, investment risk profiles will be heavily scrutinised.
What happened to BA/Shell and their option agreement for AltAlto? That came and went. Makes you wonder why the didn’t jump at the chance for such a cheap price. I’ll tell you why I think - it’s because they cannot at this time stomach the risks.
Hopefully, things will change, but the question is how long we need to wait.
Good point Sean, that does sound like a possibility. The amount companies like BP and Shell pay out in dividends yearly could pay for a dozen sites like Immingham. BP paid over £6bn I believe last year....
Also regarding the SP I've felt frustrated but 6p looking extremely strong is a good sign. Sort of what 2p looked like several months ago.
I agree with most of that. I think the SP will fiddle around where it is until we get some more news/rumour and funding info. Everyone talks a good game, but let’s see who backs it up with money. For the two partners it’s about survival at the moment and I feel the driving force must come from the uk government. I think it will be come but the timescales I think are too optimistic which is a character trait of good old Boris.
I disagree that it's just for PR because that is very cynical. I don't believe any serious players would completely disregard this technology. It would be somewhat foolish to do so without checking it out and seemingly progressing to the point that BA and Shell have options for a third of the Immingham plant.
I do tend to agree with the funding for a takeover though and being cool until they have sorted their own issues out. I would expect in the next 6-12 months that an economic recovery will be well underway and the FTSE is back around 6500+. To mentioned a 16 month deadline for a decision on Immingham...... Perhaps things will heat up prior to it.
I’ve said on many occasions that Shell are in this for the PR. In terms of bang for buck, they’ve got huge publicity for just a couple million quid. Shell have their own FT equipment, albeit designed for larger scale. They also have their own cataylst technology in the form of CRI . They may, one day, look to acquire VLS to add to their portfolio, but as has been stated that’s probably years away. It’ll come down to whether they want to be the ones to take the risk and fund the project now, at a time when they are laying people off. This applies to BA too.
There is a possibility that the whole thing may get put on ice for a while until all associated parties can get a handle on their own future.
Who Knows, but I think its a possibility maybe not quite now but certainly down the line. Velocys needs massive, massive funding to bring all this to fruition but it would an attractive proposition to someone cetainly if things progress a bit more. The uncertainty lies in Immingham, Alto site starts with subject to funding it will be built. It's in this morninings news that BA are burning through 20M a day. Funding and futher Govt Commitment is the news I'm waiting to hear and I think that will drive the SP.
Both BP and Shell are committed to cleaner fuel. The oil industry is past it's best, why not one of these?
You mentioned a takeover yesterday and although I'm not sure who would realistically try right now I think it could be good for investors. Especially if it was a company like Shell. More resources and the FT technology would accelerate development.
What do you guys think?
I don't think there are too many negative people on here... just realists. We are all shareholders and in our interests to talk it up. It is the future but massive funding is required and that is my concern. BA have their problems and it can't be all rosy in the garden for Shell based on BP's troubles. I can see further placings or rights issues further down the line but a lot of uncertainty. No-one can predict what will happen to SP but I can't see any "flying" any time soon.
We just need patience , I see this share flying soon and hopefully above the 12p mark before the end of the year at the bare minimum, maybe a few spikes at them rates a lot earlier . Stick at it and let’s not listen to the negative people.
Thanks mate, it's difficult at times because it's almost life changing money. Even breaking even would be a massive relief and so helpful. Good times ahead!
6.5p average. The bottom end of 6p has shown some great resistance. It will come to us soon enough, patience is rewarded. Stay strong YBD
Good luck guys, I'm averaged at 8.3p. Hopefully 6p is now the floor so we can all make some money.
I’m down at an average of 7.7p but in for the long term.
Bought at 5.98 , in a little profit, in it for the long term , see massive potential in this share!
