Yes correct dividends would be income, but as Accustem are floating on the stock exchange it will not come under the dividend TAG.
Ah, but could it be income, like a normal divi, and not within CGT allowance? Just a query; no idea myself but it's crossed my mind.
10 to 20 percent outside your capital gain allowance. No biggie
If I top up tomorrow it'll have to be outside my ISA.
So, if these accustem 'new free shares' are classed as dividends I wonder if they get taxed as dividend income?
Both say the same thing.30th is the day you need to be on the shareholder register for the entitlement.Dividend is the legal terminology as the shares are designated as dividends - just dividends 'in kind' as such and not in cash. Therefore ex-dividend date is the same as the ex-dividend date to receive a cash dividend. The record date is always to date to pay attention to.Nominee accounts as most have will sort out the details for you usually. They might not if it's a nasdaq listed spin off but otherwise like any other corporate event, the system and user interface on your platform will be weird for a day or two or three for the new issue and then sort itself out usually.
I hope so. Here's to a blue steak tomorrow morning.. My point was why would say 400k late buys make an impact if 1.5 million didn't. For reference I'm a LTH.
The buys here pale into insignificance with yesterday's 1.4 million pounds worth of buys that was the prequel for the **** show that was today. I do not see how you can then deem this factor to be relevant?
Wow that is some serious volume!
Anyone on a computer atm able to quickly total those up?
All yesterday’s buys coming through now!! Private investors really have be royally bent over in the last few weeks, and it’s nothing to do with Tiziana imo.
There are obviously complications associated with this type of Demerger, exacerbated by the dual listing, and imo the BoD have done EVERYTHING by the book and have done their utmost to support private investors and attempt to support the share price. They can do nothing about the MM’s, Nasdaq, Algo Bots or the Market in general, which is brutal and unforgiving, even to experienced investors.
Having said that, If individuals miss out on AccuStem shares, it’s nobody’s fault but their own. We’ve had weeks of suppression to keep the share price between £1.20 and £1.80 giving everyone ample opportunity to take a position. Some have tried to be smart and second guess the RNS’s which have been crystal clear. HOLD SHARES IN YOUR ACCOUNT AT 7am ON 30th OCTOBER AND YOU WILL GET AccuStem Shares. Simple as that! No If’s No Buts, that is all you had to do.
We are almost there, then the proper news flow can begin to be released. I suggest nobody else fks this up for themselves by selling too early.
GL all.
@manna, they will still be registered in your name, fear not.
Who was that bloke who kept telling us that we needed to have our shares and hold on 27th? Kept referring to everyone as idiots.
As I say RNS 16th sept says:
7:00 a.m. on 30 October 2020 Demerger Record Time
30 October 2020 Ex-dividend date
30 October 2020 Effective Date of the demerger
However the RNS 2nd Oct says
7:00 a.m. on 30 October 2020 - Demerger Record Time
30 October 2020 - Completion of Demerger
2 November 2020 - Ex-entitlement date for Accustem Shares
No wonder there is confusion! Different wordings...
I am not saying which is right.
Demerger of Accustem Sciences Limited ("Accustem") , details of which were announced on 16th September 2020 and 27 October 2020. Whilst the Record Date for the Demerger is due to occur at 7.00am on the 30th October 2020, the Company's shares will continue to trade with an entitlement to the Demerger until the Ex-Dividend Date of 30th October 2020.
Accordingly, unless the counterparties specifically agree otherwise, a buyer of the Company's Ordinary Shares ahead of the Ex-Dividend Date will assume the benefit to the Demerger by distribution in specie, and the seller would need to pass the benefit to the buyer, even if the seller is the recorded owner at the Record Date.
I am sure the above is correct... which means trades today and thurs will be WITH Accustem.
However I have seen ex-div dates of both 30th Oct and 2nd Nov - so am less sure of trading on friday.
I have bought heavily today as long term hold
