And you’ve got the added complication of earnings season and people taking profits.
Mrmark, I completely agree. Very nicely put.
At first it all seems great and very simple, Little Guy vs. Big guy.
Thing is, it effects the whole market, due to money moving into these "boosted" shares to try and get a quick gain.
Lots found they couldn't then sell due to lots of platforms going down. The brokers would have then made a fortune trading between themselves.
Some funds would have closed long positions, in other stocks, to cover the losses on their shorts. These stocks will then, obviously, fall in value sharply due to the sums involved.
Then we have the guys that will lose when the whole lot comes crashing down.
As with all these sorts of things there will be many losers both direct and indirect for sure.
I agree there will always be winners and losers. It will crash. But he point was to **** the shorting hedge funds that run people's investment s into the ground for no good reason other than profit.
I'm all the way with the little guy, I always sport the underdog but in this case, a lot of poor family men/women with children are going to take a hit. As always. So same as what the big guy does.
Personally I have started my investments rotation (maybe to early) and I am betting on some interesting growth stocks with a probed business model and strong revenues.
I am still exposed on us markets (I wanna ride the bubble) but it's riskier everyday more
Right on. They need to be wary of the little guys now Given the technology these days we can join up and smash the shorters to bits.
Learnt a new thing today. YOLO. I'm not a millennial I'm too old. But they are being ****ed by society and they are fighting back. Got to love a bit of revolution now and then.
Yes for sure...probably this generation doesn't remember the dot.com bubble. The pattern is the same. We have only more fuel (QE). And all that money is boosting stock prices and not the recovery
What goes up must come down and it will fall as fast as it rose, unfortunately some PI will lose out.
On the other hand my anarchy / conspiracy / hate to new world order side loves the fact that we do have power in numbers to bring the big guys down.
Its kind of a revolutionary moment.
God's knows it won't end well. But perhaps it's about making a point.
If enough of us join together. We can take you out
I listened to Powell earlier and he wouldn’t be drawn into commenting, which I guess is to be expected.
I could be wrong but I think gamestock is one of those turning points in how things work. I lent a few grand to the GME cause as I'm sick of the manipulation and watching the little guy get pushed around by the big knobs
Hopefully those gready f++ks are suffering today.
Its a bit of a laugh but every now and then you get a moment to stick it to the man. Lol.
Some people always fall for the hype, I can see gamestop falling the same way. They are even going around these BB's ramping it, some one came on RMS ramping it a few hours ago.
Feets on the ground in 2021..
It's time to focus at fundamentals... The insanity of what is happening will be written on financial markets manuals..
One word and the FED could end all the game
I get buying it for a day ... maybe two .... but to keep buying and buying and buying.
It’s going to end in tears for the PI suspect.
Yet again all the earning reports are coming in and the broader market conditions in the US are beating the decent numbers.
Apple’s just a behemoth.
The thing about gameshop, was an army of Reddit / webull/ Robinhood users that collectively got behind it and ramped the high hell out of it in the hope of closing out the institutional shorts.
It's simple supply and demand. None of that MM BS holding it down
JR talking nonsense as usual.
There are no institutional short positions on SYME so it’s nothing like GameStop, which I believe before this happened had 30% of it’s stock in short positions.
AMC is up 250% today for the same reasons, along with a handful of others.
I suspect this is going to pull the market back quite a bit.
Big sell off today.
A nice Skynews article about how shortens have burned badly with GameStop....... could this be on the cards here?
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/news.sky.com/story/amp/short-sellers-burned-as-small-investors-pile-into-gamestop-options-12200471
I'll hope syme does the same but gamestop is definitely its own thing and will definitely be temporary as its basically the masses manipulating the SP for a change. Once they force the big guns to close their shorts, SP will drop 1000%
1,700 % in the last 4 weeks, not saying SYME will do similar but the parallel's are there for the initiated to see.
