Bad day for SGC with the shares taking a beating. Not sure I understand why given the bads news is already reflected in the lowly SP. My view is there will be consolidation in the sector in respect of road transport and Nat Exp et al must be looking at SGC who have now made it clear Rail Franchise is a 'poison pill' they want no part of.
All theory of course but with the divi well covered its hard to see much downside from here but never say never.
The thing is of course, they are not bidding for any more rail franchises. Arguably not a bad thing in some respects, but the loss or revenues may well be factored in today as well I think.
decent results and divi should mean sp rise imv.
Your style is unique in comparison to other people I’ve read stuff from. Thank you for posting when

Hard to do is that. Well done.
my share purchase signals a general sell off. Seems that I bought at the bottom! Ding-ding!
It'll be interesting to see what that does to the sp tomorrow.
Although I was hoping one of those was relating to some kind of offer for some of Arriva. Maybe that's coming at some point.
Sold 3/4 , will keep the rest and see what happens. If the share price drops back to 115 then I may rebuy , win/win
Its certainly helped the sp mate.
Still. On the plus side, you're almost at your target. Good news for you.
I wish you well with your next investment. Good luck to you.
Cheers, Trent700
You've only been in here a month and you think it's a dog of a share? It begs the question of what research you had done or why you bothered investing in the first place. Very strange.
God has heard my prayers, been stuck here a month
Looks like you might get your exit sooner than you thought Chickmillar.
Share buyback
As soon as I break even at 122 I’m out of here , does the share price ever rise
That you still have nothing of any use to say Worldgoround. She's turn again today, is it?
SGC will react to this
Deutsche Bahn asks for expressions of interest in Arriva by May 3.
order was gobbled up, even though I set a limit slightly below the asking price.
Have much further to drop can it?
These bloody rail franchises we've lost can't be milked much more surely.
Perhaps these Arriva rumours could be a good idea if we could get some (or all) of it for the right price. Even if it was to cover some of the lost revenues
I did a bit of a search on it, due to Facebook being Facebook.
Apparently, there is a level of truth in it. Ok, it is only a rumour at the moment, and nothing is certain as yet, but that said given the debacle of those rail franchises, I think it makes sense to look into this to help to recover some of the lost revenue from them.
As long as SGC don't cripple themselves with unnecessary additional debt to pay for it then this seems like a good idea.
Seen a news item on Facebook (make of that what you will):-
Stagecoach rumoured to be considering Arriva takeover.
Stagecoach is weighing up a potential takeover bid for Arriva, city sources have told financial website This is Money.
According to the article, Stagecoach’s main interest lies in Arriva’s bus business, which currently operates over 5,000 vehicles across its UK and European arms.
As reported in CBW1387, Arriva’s German owner Deutsche Bahn has announced it’s ‘exploring options’ for the sale of the company to reduce its debt pile.
Deutsche Bahn acquired 100% of shares in Arriva back in 2010 at a cost of £1.5bn, but by May of 2016 it was planning to sell off 45% of its stake – raising a projected £3.6bn.
However, these plans were curtailed months later as a result of the Brexit vote.
Rumours of a sale began circulating once again in January of this year, although sources told news agency Reuters that Brexit was making Arriva a ‘challenging’ company to value.

I can't personally see it myself, but thought I'd share the article to see if anyone knew anything about it.
I'm not in stagecoach but have been in the past and follow the SP. I do agree that Oxbridge Grads who get into government are absolutely clueless about what goes on in the real world. They all remind me of 'Tim nice but dim' from the old Harry Enfield sketch show, As for Theresa May, well if she thinks running through a field of corn is the most mischievous thing she can recall doing in her life, well I can see why Brexit is such a shambles.
Seems happy to award a franchise to the dutch company that is making a mess of the Scotrail franchise. It's about time oxbridge grads are banned from govt and the civil service posts
And has not tanked any further, which is a relief.
I've not heard anything back yet from the Company Secratary, but as soon as I do I'll post it on here.
I hope that this is as far as we drop. Fingers crossed.
