what about electric Planes or maybe Boats lol only Joking Indigo22.
"Why are we discussing electric cars here?" Somebody mentioned hydrogen nonsense.
'Why are we discussing electric cars here?'
Haha fair point
Unfortunately the country has a massive issue with infrastructure with electric car charging , i looked into starting a company up fitting charge points with a friend and one of the points raised on the course was lamppost issue's. Inadequate amount of lampposts and the infrastructure to supply the demand. Even speaking to dealerships about electric cars they never came across as convinced its the future .
Besides with rapid charging cabling would need upgrading to supply the demand .
Even looked into new builds estates and no infrastructure or intention to future proof for this in place.
All comes across as VHS vs BETAMAX again.
gimmick that will fade imho
Electric Cars may run on QFI Fuels lol
Why are we discussing electric cars here?
Difference is the amount of amperage required to charge an electric car compared to normal usage , a 30 or 60 amp fast charger is probably 5-10 x normal household consumption, x thAt by say 100k Ev’s and my question would be can existing infrastructure support that sort of continuous power drain without melting the system
I don't think there's a huge infrastructure issue for electric cars. The reality is every petrol station, home and lamp post already has electric cabling. It's relatively cheap, simple and safe to put charging stations in place, versus carting around compressed gas.
Yeah, hydrogen. Look at how PHE has done recently. Wish I’d kept hold of my shares in that.
A whole infrastructure issue already for battery powered cars.
Cant see it lasting myself , hey ho years away yet before everything goes green of some sort .
So ships either have scrubbers or bunker fuel .
At current levels QFI should see a breakout on good news.
Hydrogen now? Hydrogen? Cars and Trucks are going to from batteries to a gas with zero network? Costs a fortune for ships to be retrofitted, the fuels expensive and it's not needed for non ECA areas. Really don't see a future for hydrogen at all the, for small vehicles it'll be batteries powered by nuclear plants.
Hydrogen is the future and its already starting to replace fossil fuel , i use to be heavy on oil but last few months started changing my portfolio.
Solely here for what is happening in Utah as what is happening could be massive and will be worth the ride .
Thanks Nimrod. I'm also in ITM, McPhy, AFC, Ceres and Nel, and doing well out of those shares. I'll check out Bloom too. Agree hydrogen has a great future, but there is still a need for transition fuels.
and sold QFI many times in past years, and always thought as an engineer that not having any Carbon residue after combustion was a great idea, and that QFI would be a winner. BUT it was game over when Maersk dropped out. The future has moved on and its now going to be Hydrogen in one of its many forms. I'd suggest not wasting time or money with QFI and get invested in the Hydrogen revolution that's taking place e.g.

quote from conversation on Yahoo Finance
"• Bloom Energy is entering the commercial hydrogen market by introducing hydrogen-powered fuel cells and electrolyzers that produce renewable hydrogen. These products will be first introduced to the South Korean market in 2021 through an expanded partnership with SK Engineering and Construction (SK E&C), an affiliate of SK Group. Bloom's existing partnership with SK E&C has already sold 120 megawatts (MW) of fuel cells in South Korea, generating over $1 bln in equipment and future services revenue for Bloom.
• By the end of 2020, Bloom expects to ship a 100 kilowatt pilot Server to South Korea to power an SK E&C facility in early 2021. The second phase, a 1 MW hydrogen Server installation, is targeted for a 2022 deployment. Both companies have committed to fully fund and resource these two phases.

There are several other Hydrogen energy companies out there and most are taking off. Ships, aeroplanes, trucks and cars are all going to be using it in one form or another. Don't miss the boat, take a look at QFI's SP graphs over the last few years.
