Thank you, UDF for message about visit to hospital. Appreciated.
Bloody hell rusty that sounds dranmatic
The farce of electric cars is whether hybrid or plug in somewhere fossil fuel powers these things. Now UDF is right and fuel cells could possibly be the future but guess what? They too create co2 to produce their electrical supply. In their own submission they are all ****ing useless when it comes to co2 production . Mind you I think global warming is one big scam
Thankyou Rusty, sorry about your visit to the hospital.
updownflat, you are correct production has reduced, they have given the reason because of lack of concentrate and reflactory rather than non-reflactory.
I still think it could be ramped up if they wanted to, I remember Pavel doing that a couple of years ago late in the year. But on the fact that production is down. You are correct.
Rusty,
but you can’t deny their own production, (Their only Cash profitable product) gold has dropped, so that’s why I quoted you.
Updownflat if you look at the split I think you will find its the non refractory ore, they do not seem to have an abundance of that more the refractory ore which is why they need the extra processing plants and pox hub
At the end of 2019, 470 hydrogen refuelling stations were in operation worldwide, an increase of more than 20% from 2018. Japan remains the leader with 113 stations, followed by Germany (81) and the United States (64).
I think EV peaks in 10 years and then we move to hydrogen. 1 % of vechicles will be hydrogen in 5-7 years. Great for planes/ships/tanks/jets and clean.
And really Hydrogen is the future of fuel. Electric is quite bad for the enviroment.
Actually, gents I think that more oil was being extracted, pre-covid, than at any point in history, and the third world appetite for oil is ravenous. The global demand for power/fuel/LNG/Hydrogen will double in the next 30 years, oil itself has a good 10 - 20 years of high bulk demand left. How much does POG use?
Rusty,
In 2019 own production was 470K.FY 21 Forecast 370-390K. Thats a 20% drop in non third party volume. We should expect a 20% drop in headcount.
Yes gonna be interesting rusty especially if you live in terrace houses , flats or houses with parking on opposite side of the road , with more than one car , could be a few tangled chargers ha ha certainly a discussion for the future , when will pog get away from 25p i wonder
Freddie2 couldn't remember the exact date, and wasn't going to look it up when had already started the post. Reality there are more and more cars being built now which are either all electric or Hybrid.
Had to go and identify someone in the mortuary at the local hospital, and in the car park, there were electric Tesla, Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Nissan to name a few all being charged.
There was as many electric and hybrid, as Diesel and Petrol. Local Taxi firm, has all their new cars as Electric, and local bus company are running electric buses, That is an awful lot of Petrol and diesel that is not being used.
Hence, BP making cutbacks. I think its about time Updownflat, talked to investor relations, to see if he can borrow the company helicopter, and pop over to Russia visit the mines and check the headcount.
Updownflat, its not our stuff we are reducing its the bought in concentrate and I wouldn't have thought pox hub would utilise many people, I don't know that, but it seems its the plant that does the work, not people, also we have the 2nd processing plant at pioneer being constructed don't know how many people are o will be utilised there.
1noise,
I wont post any calculations here for the sake of the board, but this share is price for gold @ $1,950
Denis,
needs to "walk the walk". If the shareholders are a priority, cut the headcount, save the costs and improve the return.
Rusty,
"If they are not going to produce as much, it is simple Mathematics to assume they won't need as many people."
Rusty dont think diesel cars will be gone by 2033 , the last ones will be produced in 2030 so got to be 15 years after that imo , but i see your point
updownflat, you can't compare BP with POG, BP is worth billions and a leading FTSE 100 COMPANY, But, it is producing Oil and Petrol which governments are trying to do away with by banning diesel cars by about 2033.
If they are not going to produce as much, it is simple Mathematics to assume they won't need as many people.
I am not qualified to say whether or not POG has too many people. But Denis has been checking out the mines and workforce, and is very well paid to make those decisions, along with the people In the bod, who you think are Messiahs, and have done diddly squat YET.
UDF,
We are here and we are reading/listening.
Definitely still a buy at these levels.
Saw this which is of slight interest.

HSBC, the airlines, Nokia, Renault, Volkswagen , but not POG because we don’t know what they do.
HSBC, the sirlines, Nokia, Renault, Volkswagen , but not POG
Really, I look at many other industries who have radically cut their headcount in the last year. And I look at POG. Who is “special” because “we” don’t know what they do. BP is cutting their workforce by 10,000
