Hello all,
Good RNS this morning. The lock in will build a strong base for the SP and increased stability too as we are less likely to be traded with all this going on.
Results a key milestone in the sense the sense that there will be a great deal of interest in the forward looking statement and I wouldn’t be surprised for the brakes to be taken off on the RNS front shortly afterwards.
Worth sticking around for!
Peter, Bronx et al...
Thank you for the responses, ideas and details which have reduced my suspicions a little. More than a little.
Healthy suspicion, doses of salt etc are often useful parts of our armour in this game.
kind regards...
Re earlier post; by “results are good” I’m referring chiefly to the forward looking statement for 2021 sales and profits. GLA
Cathal Friel did say we would be pleasantly surprised with 2nd half revenues..
Remember Quotient's (Antibody testing) revenues are going to included in those numbers..
MilkM, ditto- I was typing whilst you posted! GLA
Kilgeever - presume you mean 7am and 4.30pm? An alternative scenario to that you’ve offered is that results are good and therefore there will be a clammer for stock thus raising the share price on that day. Given, however, there’s only one day to buy, the share price increase will be less than it perhaps would be if buying took place over a few days or a week. Therefore if CF is planning to buy substantial shares the following day, he’ll be able to buy at a ‘better’ price under this scenario. All good conjecture. Time will tell which it is. GLA
"s the timing of the Accounts and of the Record date/time, with distribution after these, a significant measure taken by the company because of anticipated market response to accounts/"
Timing is delierate I think, but not for those reasons.
CF said in the last presentation that he would be "playing down" future revenue forecasts. Any one holding on to get the free shares may well sell some on the 18th or after. So, right there we have 2 possible reasons for some sellers in the market on and after the 18th.
A perfect time for CF to collect more shares if that is when he is able.
Short version of question:
Might we be tied in to poor results in the hope of a freebie?
I do love a good question that none of us know the answer to! Makes a great thread.
Question follows .....
Audited results at the start (presumably) of business. Whether you believe in 'buy on rumour, sell on news' or you would normally sell following poor results, if you wish to benefit from the Poolbeg (those two iconic towers in Dublin Bay) shares then holding until the morning of the 18th is necessary.
Question.
Is the timing of the Accounts and of the Record date/time, with distribution after these, a significant measure taken by the company because of anticipated market response to accounts/
Sorry if: 1) too wordy or 2) covered elsewhere by posters with greater understanding of the forthcoming spinoff.
