Odx s part in a the RTC does not justify the current mcap though. We need to see orders for the other tests.
its taking time as the government dont wanna fook up a third time
processes and approvals are the only way forward and we are in front, thats why there was secret testing going on
Yes Bloomberg report on finger prick test which Imperial used is more muted: "There was no breakthrough on the quest for a home antibody test for general use among the public. Separate studies, also unveiled on Thursday, evaluated a range of finger-prick home antibody tests but found the results were not reliable enough to be given government approval for widespread use, officials said. The tests were still deemed to be suitable for surveillance studies such as the Imperial research"
UKRTC will be the only home test kit, to be rolled out nationally.
Only a matter of time and potential of selling surplus to other government for a premium.
The Imperial test cannot be rolled out nationally because it gives inacurate results at an individual level said the lady running it on r4 about 20 mins ago.
Also though this was fortress via imperial it's good news overall. Once ulster complete their findings with Oxford they too can release data.
If imperial via fortress had been a failure then I would have expected Oxford rtc to also have bad expectations so I'm somewhat pleased with this and now a waiting game. I'd expect news in the next 2 weeks.
Ok, thanks
It's the home finger prick test
Rocky pls remind me what is the Fortress test?
This is Fortress test
is this our secret testing i wonder
It amazes me how flawed the sensitivity tests are . These are meant to be bright people . Results are compared to the gold standard elite lab results . But those Eliza tests are inaccurate in hospitals at the moment .
Health Minister Edward Argar said: “Large scale antibody surveillance studies are crucial to helping us understand how the virus has spread across the country and whether there are specific groups who are more vulnerable, as we continue our work to drive down the spread of the disease.
“We don’t yet know that antibodies provide immunity to coronavirus, but the more information we can gather on this virus, and the easier we can make it for people to participate in these studies, the better equipped we will be to respond.
“The British public have already played a massive part in helping to keep the country safe and I’d urge them to consider signing up to one of the many vital surveillance studies taking place over the coming months as part of our national testing effort.”
The study will be repeated in autumn, testing 200,000 people, and research on the accuracy of different LFTs is ongoing to ensure that the best available test is used in the REACT programme as it continues.
Kelly Beaver, Managing Director – Public Affairs, Ipsos MORI said: “The thorough and rigorous work carried out by Imperial College London has allowed us to find a robust at home finger prick test for COVID-19 antibodies. This is the springboard for developing a far greater understanding of COVID-19 antibodies and how prevalent they are in the population through our large-scale antibody study, conducted with over 100,000 members of the public.”

Biggest study on antibody finger-prick tests identifies promising kits
"They found that the best performing tests are suitable for large-scale surveillance studies to monitor the progress of the pandemic. These could correctly identify individuals with coronavirus antibodies over 80% of the time, while also correctly ruling out those who don’t in more than 98% of tested individuals."
