Hi recall that when 20k death threshold was crossed the Daily Mail headline was 50M antibody tests at £10 each were being ordered by the Govt. At the time I thought this was to bury bad news. The Govt mark of success or failure was to keep the death toll below 20k. We now approach 40k.
I was surprised by the Optigene news on Thursday (21/5/20). Surprised because it headlined only 4000 tests and a 6 week trial on Hampshire. Basingstoke must have being using the LAMP method since April. The headline was 20minute testing. What did this take off the news? Boris was U turning on the NHS charge for migrant health workers.
Well today Dominic Cummins is in deep trouble, 40k is approaching. If the Govt is playing the headlines here, would I expect a major headline over this holiday period. Absolutely. I think Sunday or Monday the RTCcould be making an announcement, to bury bad news.
Call me cynical but I think we are be played ....
The BBC news program looks important to me. Item 3 looks like the Abingdon test kit. I think its ready!
Totally agree with you Valhalla . Politically charged and motivated anyway. The establishment don't like DC, full stop. Back to ODX, what's occurring?
Nothing to do with labour, he broke government guidelines in a position of responsibility.
Thought this was the ODX BB not the Dominic Cummings debate BB ;o) have a beer and chill folks....
Now Dominic Cummings has wasted a lot of valuable time that could have been used for other discussions, he should do the decent thing and resign
Nothing to do with Odx, Cummings broke all the rules and like most MPs lives in a bubble of self idolising and an ability in thinking they can do what they want. Out of order by him
@Mars1
That's easily open to abuse, as you could send any photo e.g. one of your family or mate tested positive but you didn't.
Now we can all go on holiday as we all got a positive antibody test...ermm no!
Baroness Dido Harding is in charge of track and trace app and immunity certificates
https://www.hsj.co.uk/workforce/nhsi-chair-to-lead-covid-19-test-and-trace-programme/7027600.article
I am hoping you photograph the test result send the result to the central database and you then get the cert as an answer back on your phone.
You think journalists would have taken the opportunity to ask the transport secretary about immunity passports but they were driven to try to get an aide sacked for looking after his daughter
After looking online trying to match the different casette designs to the three tests in the BBC article, I quickly gave up. I think its best not to make too many assumptions from particular designs of cassettes matches up with a certain company. After all the cassette is simple and might be generic in many cases. The important component of the tests is the strip contained within, which is the most crucial element.
A few weeks ago, people were arguing on here about the importance of home testing antibody testing and look where we are now, huge media coverage of antibody testing in the press and gov briefings. Huge numbers of these tests will be needed and companies such as ODX with the manufactoring capability will have their capacity maxed out for foreseeable future. We are getting close now, I have my sight firmly set on June 1st.
Image from Abingdon appears to be from a stock photo library ...

@pD
couple of hundred was a random number, not discussing my financial on a LSE board.
I usually stick my guns to powerhouses so
it's irrelevant how much exposure I have got on Covid19 plays on AIM.
You on the other hand give out very well who you are. Sad really.
@Pete
Yes that was my original question at the start of this thread (how to prove who took the test).
I also agree the gov are a bunch of useless idiots, this is their chance to get something right :)
@PDMS
I am not suggesting that we all go out and buy DNANudge - i probably didn't explain myself properly. I am suggesting you could use similar technology to accommodate our RTC antibody test, to then get some sort of passport.
@Dr.
I will have a look at the DNAnudge and I am positive about it.
My concern is : who is going to check that Sally from Romford passport is legit ? And how we assure compliance with a population of more than 60 mil
@PDMS
Yeah well since I am in from the 20s I though to keep couple of hundred share standing and see how the waiting for godo pans out; )
Not desperate to break even boasting nonsense . I am more interested in other analytical views rather than random links to sci-fi articles or theories, they may add to something that I have missed. That's how I make my profits, surely not ramping de ramping or day trading, not a dreamer either.
The RTC was handpicked from the most successful, advanced Biotech companies in the UK, Ciga, BBI, Abingdon and Omega.
These companies have the most advanced labs and the most experienced scientists in this field, in the country, all working together with the world renowned Oxford University scientists to perfect the worlds most accurate Covid 19 home POC antibody test.
But hey, “DNANudge” have just knocked one out that’s going to be better and Boris is going to stand up and recommend we all buy the DNANudge Test and we all live happily ever after. LOL. Cuckoo, cuckoo.
Considering you said you sold and wished everybody well Pete, you’re seemingly spending a whole lot of your bank holiday on this board bashing it now, which is strange.
Thanks for the warnings of doom, I’m sure everybody appreciates you taking all this time out to dissuade your fellow man from making a terrible financial mistake. It’s very much appreciated but I’m happy holding for the coming announcements. Thanks anyway.
'Antibody passport, wishful thinking to me.'
Well the DNA Nudge thing seems to be just that, so i think RTC will want something similar..
Check out their website:
https://www.dnanudge.com/
Antibody passport, wishful thinking to me.
They are running around clueless.They left the NHS staff fighting a battle without ammo, mistake after mistake, the only thing antibodies are good for at the moment are "suveys" and they talking to go to the moon. How we end up with this below average chain of command is beyond me.
Yes the BBC report from Fergus looks like it could be a big reveal/slip up : )
This test from Fergus Walsh article on BBC, on RHS, looks remarkably similar to the ones shown on Abingdon Health website to me...
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52762939
https://www.abingdonhealth.com/abingdon-health-key-partner-in-consortium-to-develop-a-uk-antibody-test/
I'm hoping the RTC test itself is already sorted (lots of other companies making tests so if Oxford Uni can't make one, somethings wrong..).
Maybe the government are delaying the announcement to buy them time to get the other pieces of the jigsaw in position (hence just a comment about RTC test showing early promise).
Full picture could then be:
1. We got the test, it's validated and ready for production (manufacturers already scaling up)
2. We ran another study on front-line workers that already tested positive to show you get immunity for at least 1 month (e.g. data so far shows this, but obviously further time required to prove 2 months, 3 months, 6 months etc)
3. Immunity passport with duration as per whats the latest data from step 2.
Just a thought that's all, thanks for you comments!
Anybody who tests positive at home with the RTC gov verified home POC Test and then requiring an immunity passport could then be asked to go to a chemist and have another test at the counter, together with identification, witnessed and verified by the qualified pharmacist. That verified test with identification also verified can then be used for an immunity passport application.
It’s no more complicated or more open to abuse than the application process for any other official document and won’t take an Einstein to work out an easy, secure system.
It will be interesting to see how they proceed. All to play for, starting with the announcement that the test is perfected and they have reached the necessary accuracy bar, then it’s game on. GLA.
The RTC antibody test objective is to allow the test recipient to determine a course of action, e.g. i've already had the virus, so i'm ok to do X,Y,Z...
The other less accurate antibody tests mentioned during the daily briefings are already being used for the purpose of determining the extent of spread of COVID-19 throughout the UK population. (Recent news 17% in London, 5% rest of UK).
I thînk your right and homes will order the poc test, I also think ideally doctors, nurses and medical professions will use it if good enough.
Cd4 is administered to ensure it's done well and results loaded up on to the app. I think they'll be a retail arm to everyone and also a wholesale aspect to Boots, chemists, doctors etc who will sell and carry out the test too. It's going to be very interesting how this plays out, the Roche, 10 million order could the order reduced significantly by a very accurate poc if it comes along. Looking like a corona test in 20 mins is arriving, poc tests if good enough will do everything. Bear in mind no power, logistics, labs etc in many countries abroad.
