Kipper is quite correct when he says everything is streaming these days..
However my experience of this is not good...
i go on my phone to watch a film...theres buffering
I go on my pc to watch football theres buffering
At work if i watch football without wifi i,m constantly aware of my data usage.
Streaming is here BECAUSE there is nothing better available currently.
ATSC 3.0 will be a huge success of that i have no doubt.
Whicheveer phone manufacturer installs the atsc 3.0 chip first will see a massive increase in sales....ATSC 3.0...."the bridge"!
Anyone find/kept the article written by Dr Glen Ritchie Craib of MTV. Cant find it would be interesting to read again.
From 09/12/2015 rns..
"The Internet is not yet sufficiently pervasive and reliable in South Africa to be able to provide continuous connectivity to the tablets. Motive's patented technology is uniquely suited to address this problem by enabling content reception via both the Internet and the digital broadcast network, regardless of the Internet bandwidth availability."
Kipper can you explain this please?
What i will say is from the patents i have looked at and the non transferable licensing agreements they involve a t pod....and the software inside?
Will this be obsolete if the Sinclair chip is fitted to phones?
Like I care what you think kipper - on your bike.
P.S. how is your investment FRR doing, sorry to burst your bubble but you will get naught from there.
Shaa, sorry to burst your bubble, but everything is streaming today... but its streaming over the Internet. Not the digital TV band. So streaming today is not the dream of motive TV. Motive TV ireland the film maker, does not appear to have been anything to do with this mtv. No link. Content express was a data server, that streamed data over WiFi. This is what worked on the ferries. Totally different to atsc3.0. That's all for now.
Unless they just added our software to their existing model. I know Len always said that MTV are about site licenses.

Agreed,
And that is the question that bugs me...why develop something that is being developed already.
Unless you had someone who was not going to use the other developed service but wanted their own.
ATSC 3.0 is basically Content Express Solutions Platform.
ATSC 3.0. Thanks for the post Parkez, a few more of us see the same things.
https://www.thebroadcastbridge.com/content/entry/13280/nab-ceo-slates-apple-for-ignoring-atsc-3.0-chips
Still a lot of tech and services to be unwrapped...was never a believer of the Apple rumours.
However ...who knows.
Remember the TV patent that was exactly like content express.
"This is significant because its launch followed Sinclair Broadcast Group's commitment to a nationwide roll-out of ATSC 3.0 service and also its prior announcement to fund millions of chipsets for donation to wireless operators. There are two variants of which one is for linear TV applications in set top boxes or home gateways and the other for mobile and portable devices"
Was not aware of this....
Not going to be STBs...
Mobiles??....
Do we have anything to do with the Sinclair mobile chip?
Are Apple going to use content Express for live sports?
Memory is fading on these topics...Possibilities...
Yes maybe imo.
They are obligated to attain the best outcome for the creditors. (Not us) Something not realised that has value perhaps? They are also obligated to protect the assets. Logically there is still some kind of asset of value.. My personal view of course and not a professional explanation.
Hi JJ- but what would be the possible reasons for administrators not closing the files? Thanks.
I can’t see them making a STB, more likely the software that is inside such devices.
If they have done anything it will be much bigger than a set top box IMO
Ps Hi one and all.
And Giuseppe. At the beginning and the end. I see things they were doing happening everywhere. To be allowed to not file accounts and not be struck off they would have to evidence reasons.
There has to be reasons for the administrators not to close the files.
Hi Skyliner - think he was Chief Technical Officer in Motive Plc- moved to Eyetime according to official records.
The organisational arrangements are all a bit vague- maybe that was how they liked it?
Our only hope is the patents/intellectual property - but who owns these now?
Morning skyliner, good spot, yes that was/is our catch phrase.
Everything seems to be streaming, mobile viewing, OTA etc nowadays........
Morning Shaa. Not the name I had in my head, glad I didn't say. I really should have made notes!
Interesting to see the Ryoko wi-fi device is using this phrase the other way around (Anywhere, Anytime) on it's add that has popped up today.
Tony Combe
Morning SL, I thought I read in these posts, that it was a person within a company, but I would have to be sure of facts before mentioning names. Someone else may know for certain .
Hi Skyliner - not totally sure of relationship between Motive Plc and Eyetime. The Plc went into administration. Did Eyetime buy up the assets?
Hi SL, shame you have no white rabbit or good news for us. I expect the rabbit also hopped down the adminstration burrow, doubt he would fall!
Are we now now eyetime? I thought we were just held by them.
Hi Skyliner - thanks for reply. No unfortunately, I wish I had that rabbit to pull out of a hat.
Lost faith in the BOD here a long time ago. We're Eyetime now are we? Different company? Not sure what we can expect if anything! All the best.
Hi SL, Highly honoured that you ask, but you sound like you are about to pull a rabbit out of a hat.
I'm not looking for them to salvage something, I'm looking for an irruption!!! When all the things that Shaa keeps telling us about start paying fees . Did I not also read somewhere about advertising, who controls that?
So long ago now, read the RNS list, look at the people involved, it felt right at the time and I'm sticking with my gut feelings.
Hi Skyliner- what gives you the hope that something -indeed anything - can be salvaged ?
