And it's a 'NOT like it' from me also CSDI1962 - they could easily have given a small special alongside the buyback - a token towards the cancelled 2019 divi - but no, they went with II's over the PI's - like it or lump it, we have to live with it
Funny enough I was in similar position.
Managed to sell last batch at 46.7p on 29th April to break even.
Lucky timing and those proceeds were put into POLY - a big risk/reward there.
It was my previous batch sold on 27th april that went into PSN - a similar choice to your TW.
both of my current holdings (POLY & PSN) are longer term investments.
If I come back to LLOY it will be short term trading in a SB account. Also considering VOD to trade, as both LLOY & VOD offer small trading opportunities as both beaten down over the long run. Both seem to be permanently out of favour, and always find a way to disappoint long term holders LOL.
Cheers - C
I breakeven at 45.23p a share so not a million miles away. I will trade my way out if I ever get the chance. I am heavily into Shel and TW. So will play this out and kick it into oblivion once out.
Too many dreamers here.
Stressedout
Why wait for break even ?
The question to ask yourself is
1. Would I buy LLOY today, if I was not already invested - simple yes or no
And then, is there another share that I would spend my money on.
I have recently sold Lloyds and put my money into PSN.
I am still interested in LLOY as I think it offers a chance to trade.
My original plan (early april) was to buy below 45p and sell at or above 50p, but now I think 50p may take much longer to get to, and a more realistic plan is to aim for 1p profits (approx 2-2.5%) using a Spreadbet account. This is very risky if you leverage too much and the SP heads in the wrong direction. So I've been following LTI's SB history and lookingto jump on the bandwagon in due course.

Well said Csdi1962.
Trouble is people dont like negative talk.
Some moan about the lost dividends, yet want the share price to be low for the buybacks.
You cant make this up
The BOD dont give a flying f*** about the PI. You can wait to get the crumbs. I shall be out of the "We are Giant" share when I break even.
A1 - yepp we know buybacks are happening
what was our divi for 2021 - all of 2p
what was our divi for 2018 - yepp it was 3.21p
Great progress .... not
And now compounded by throwing money down the proverbial toilet in the name of creating shareholder value via buybacks.
It would be much better if they had just spent the £2B on a special divi - worth say nearly 3p.
and you're happy with the jam tomorrow illusion that Buybacks generate.
So it's a NOT like it from me - but I know it won't change anything. Rant over LOL

Like it or not - buybacks are happening!
A reduction in total voting rights means less division of any available divi pot = means more divi for me -
H1 results and interim divi announcement 27th July
The volume of the buyback is insignificant in terms of the number of shares outstanding, so it's window dressing to placate US investors

'' I could purchase better than they can. ''
How would you manage to make purchases at any other prices than are being made available on a daily basis by sellers?

Did you not know that businesses have schemes whereby some employees can have some remuneration paid in shares instead of cash and employees are able to save on a monthly basis in order to purchase shares BEFORE YOU DECIDED TO INVEST?
Chin up Gaz
We getting our dividend in 48 hours
Buntings out here
Lovely sunny day in South Essex
Agree with you SUF
I be happy if they stop buying for a few days
I be gutted if we above 45p come Thursday
If we are I hold back reinvesting a week or two :-)
As I said we got all a hot summer of this ....
The volume traded today was 180,830,629. The buyback today was only 815,895? Surely it can't be said that the reason for todays low volume bought back was because of low volume traded today?
