Only the current management of Ladbrokes can lose seven figures on the naming of the royal princess, A spokesperson for Ladbrokes say they are paying out with a smile on their faces !! Certainly not a lot of smiling fromn us battered shareholders They will probably lose on the election betting They really are second rate
All went wrong for Lads when they ballsed up the Corals takeover - Chris Bell lost his nerve and was frightened to make a decision after that.
Looking for £1 level to give way before entry at around 90pish , if it goes below £1 I cant see it being able to get back above it. So will trade the 90p to 98p range until something changes.
If £1 holds........there's a nice little trade here.
Well at least they werent slaughtered by a winning exit from AP yesterday They dont seem to have grasped the opportunity of the Election betting either .With the constant chopping and changing of the next PM and the myriad of betting opportunities available a real reservoir of money to be tapped .Gone are the days when Ron Pollard featured prominently in the media giving a running commentary of where the money has gone making Lads the must go to place
No surprises then. Shocking performance in Ireland, no FOBT's over there you see!. All the faff about rents etc is just that. A bad business decision thinking the FOBT's were the Golden Goose. What do you think is going to happen if they are limited again in the UK? What happens in the next five years when they are banned? Ladbrokes and most other firms with too many unprofitable shops will start making losses, and heavy ones at that. Its obvious Mullen has far more about him than Glynn, having already taken major steps and bringing forward the desperately need review. A shake-up looms, more shop closures, still need an improved website and the advertising is just awful. Signing deals with Pappa Johns and the other things is a joke. Dont like to see anyone lose money but many people warned this was happening at 130. Has to go below £1 soon.
First quarter profits shrank at William Hill in part due to the bookmaker's worst ever loss-making week from football betting and the new UK point-of-consumption tax. Operating profit for the 13 weeks to 1 April fell 19% on net revenue up 1%.
Ladbrokes on losing run as punters cash in on bets: A good run of results for punters and the introduction of new taxes left Ladbrokes nursing a sharp fall in quarterly profits
Nothing very inspiring there . It sounds as if we need to thank Ruby for having that faller on Annie Power .Not an impressive first statement by Mullen
Oh dear ... More customer friendly results it would appear. ...
You can never get one over on the Irish .There is a Ladbrokes tempora ry shop at Listowel Races for example. The 7day marathon meeting Money flying across the counter no till, bundlesof cash flying everywhere probably baly no time stamps either _few harassed staff settling I think I got a bet on with half the race run Every time I went in they look to be doing their proverbials LOL
.... on my part but there seems to have been a few good results for the bookies lately ... grand national and scottish national, Villa beating liverpool, scottish cup semi-finals .... With approaching election and more scope for profit perhaps things might be turning around for LAD ... looking forward to results - will determine if Im out at a loss out or staying in GLA
If the SP goes below 100p, I will buy a few LAD shares to tuck away in my ISA. Good dividend, SP at yearly low.
The odds are desperately close between Cameron and Milliband for next PM already chopping and changing over the last few weeks With the SNP and UKIP as new kids on the block there is a whole series of various permatations and betting opportunities available Are and will Ladbrokes be enjoying a betting bonanza ? What is for certain is long gone are the days when Ron Pollard was all over the press promoting Ladbroke's cause when they led the way in Political betting
Can't believe I exited TLW at great loss to buy into LAD at 111. The dividend looked attractive though, and unless thrres
paid out on five online but only four in the shops
This happens a lot. I think the punters forecast the price to increase on Friday due to the Grand National coming up. Today perhaps it was profit taking? I'm expecting SP to recover by week's end anyway.
Thought lad were only paying first four EW
but i still cant believe the price will go down 3 per cent when i think lad would have made approx £12m this weekend
All the punters would have backed AP ew as paying out on 5 places so the result would have been effectively carbon zero
I dont get it either i expected a few pence rise as it is fairly near the year low ! if shuthefrontdoor had of won maybe a few pence down, any way keeping my fingers crossed as i am a very long time holder.
the bookies had great weekend and the price goes down i really dont get this
Come Saturday as much as I like to see it just imagine the damage about to be inflicted here if AP swoops around that Canal Turn leading by a country mile with those familiar green and gold colours We need another Foinavon
That was an uncrossing trade, not a purchase.
Gone Ex dividend
