Stokey, aha, yes! That made me laugh.
Thought so Stokey thanks. In any case, I firmly believe it bodes well we are getting a mention. Time will tell :)
Jabido ref 09.54 post I think that BJ used the wrong force multiplier to get to the number of apprentices. I think the actual number is significantly lower than that.
Thanks for the posts guys, I'm struggling to find a link to the 1000 apprentices Boris quotes. That's a huge number. Could it be we have retained details of 1000 applicants for future positions? Or has Boris linked it to the 15000 positions kindly posted in links below? Or is Boris as usual just making it up? In any case, it's a clear sign we are still front and centre to ship building going forward, so although u have to take what Boris says with a pinch of salt, it's surely hugely positive to continue to be mentioned by the PM and the shipping tsar than not at all
Regarding pipeline ,would we not ship it to day the barrow base infra still have the license for I think or maybe use the gas pipe from Ireland to Stranraer
Excellent find Gents it would also tie in with the 15000 free college places

With courses available for all the trades H & W will require

I wonder if they will all qualify for the £4K for taking apprentices on ?
CharlieSays ref 08.13 post I have checked the Hansard record and it was accurately recorded. I note it was in response to a question from Jim Shannon MP. In my 07.36 post I was not referring to theyworkforyou but to the PM I do not find him very reliable. I am still waiting for him to make good on what he said at the time INFA bought Appledore.
Alberto, amazing, that was fast! Video of the man himself saying those exact words out loud.

Stokey: What kind of source are you looking for to see that information reflected on the Boris quote? It would be great if your research could provide a secondary verification, so let us know what you find.
I think its a reasonable piece of research, the site has no agenda where they'd need to quote about Harland and Wolff.
CharlieSays ref 07.29 post Thanks for this i have not seen this before. Unfortunately I would need the information from a more reliable source.
Not sure if anyone has already posted this:

Boris JohnsonThe Prime Minister, Leader of the Conservative Party, The Prime Minister 10:30 am, 16th September 2021Of course Northern Ireland will play its part, not least in the shipbuilding strategy that will follow after the spending review. I should have made more of that. I am delighted to say that Harland and Wolff has, as I understand it, just taken on another 1,000 apprentices for the first time in a very long time to get ready for exactly that strategy.
